The next morning, Violetta wakes calmly. Although there isn't the familiar feeling of chirping birds and a maid calling her to wake up, Violetta doesn't feel out of place.
'It's probably because of the memories of my past life,' Violetta tells herself while holding her head, 'Come to think of it, I've remembered most of the memories now.'
She looks out the window.
'In comparison to that place, this place looks so old fashioned...' She thinks while her face shows a look saying 'l a m e'.
'There isn't amazing technology, dramas, video games, hacking, CEOs, the cool glass buildings and all...'
'At least there aren't any creepy obsessive people like that bastard … or at least I haven't met one.'
Violetta calls Kate, the maid in, to dress her.
Kate looks at Violetta a bit stunned. 'This is the first I've seen the princess wake up so early without anyone calling her… it must be because she isn't used to this place and couldn't sleep well or something.'
"Did you sleep well last night?" Kate asks a bit warily, unconsciously afraid that the princess will become angry or something because of what happened with Maya, although the gentle princess would never do that.
"Yes," Violetta replies curtly.
She heads to breakfast, where she is introduced to the successor of the Supreme Demigod.
"Ahem, this is Claude, my successor…" the Supreme Demigod introduces awkwardly.
A crowd of mages all stare, some cringing and embarrassed, while others enjoy the show.
His pale silver-ish, mostly sky blue, glimmering hair, complementing eye color and healthy colored skin. Blade turns away, about to release another round of laughter. He's been teasing Claude about what's gonna happen at this moment since the morning.
Violetta's eyes scan over Claude. 'Sh*t! He lied!' Of course, she could tell this kid's exactly the magic beast. After all, she drew a body diagram of perfect proportion. She immediately starts to regret all that skin contact and every moment she had with that kid.
Her surprise however, is not shown on her face. She's also not quite angry, partly because the wolf ears were nice…
"It is an honor to meet the future Supreme Demigod," Violetta smiles, pretending to be oblivious to the similarity.
The mages look at her, surprised by her density, but quickly conclude that it's because she's a sheltered princess.
Of course Blade, the Supreme Demigod, and Claude, especially, are not at all convinced after knowing her superb acting skills.
Claude takes over to introduce everyone else, " This is a successor of the magic council, Blade."
Blade takes a step forward and does a slight bow to the princess. His black hair glistens a bit in the light of the magic stones.
Violetta curtsies and unnoticeably peeks up and inspects Blade.
'Oh, it's the laughing kid. He's … older than Claude, nice looks too, I guess. Well, honestly most people here look quite good,' she analyzes.
Then, Claude introduces the council members that have decided to show up, as well as a couple other high positioned mages that also wanted to come take a look.
Then, the Supreme Demigod gestures everyone to their seats as the mage apprentices bring the food over. Violetta's food is a bit plainer and has less powerful tastes and spices than normal people's foods. Of course, that is because they adjusted to her originally mild taste buds.
"I hope that Princess Violetta enjoys the dishes. If you have any complaints, do say."
"Thank you, Supreme Demigod," Violetta courteously replies.
She takes a bite of the mild flavored food and frowns inwardly, 'This is way too bland, especially after I've remembered all that gourmet food in my past life. Damn, those were so good… Awww I really want some chips and fries and pudding and chicken and steak and ice cream-'
Sorrowful, Violetta pulls out an opaque little jar from who-knows-where and puts it on the table.
"Unfortunately, I have to take a bit of medicine because of the injuries yesterday. Please excuse me."
A couple of looks of pity fill the room. Violetta pretends not to notice as a sheltered princess would. She opens the box with one hand and simultaneously pops the bottle she hides under the table with her other hand. A smell of medicinal herbs fills the air.
Since the stronger and closer smell to them is the medicinal herbs, they smell it more than the hot spice in front of her.
She takes a teaspoon and takes out a full spoon of the red powder from the jar and puts it into her mouth. She can feel her lips become red and numb, puffing up and her face color, paler, however this is all covered by her makeup done by Kate. 'Yes, I broke my record!' she thinks, 'Well, in my past life, most Sichuan people actually eat concentrations of like half a tablespoon...'
She closes the jar quickly before the smell becomes too overpowered for the mild herbs to cover.
Claude sniffs the air in surprise, not finding the scent he thought he would find. He watches her consume the red powder without hesitation as if it is the medicine she was talking about. However, he can recognize that red anywhere, after all he is the one in charge of the plantation and research because the old man didn't wanna, after coming to no conclusion last time.
After a while, he finally catches a whiff of the red pepper scent.
'... Wait a minute, I'm stupid, I should have used my wind magic to enhance my sense of smell… but damn that's crazy. One and a half teaspoon is like my maximum; how does a princess with such mild tastes be able to stand two thirds of my max?!'
Cold sweat drips down his back at the thought of her tolerance.
Meanwhile, Violetta savors the flavor of the peppers. Mmm… these are like high quality peppers in my past life~ I guess they used magic to grow this and it turned out like this.
Violetta starts to eat, allowing the food to pass her numb lips with a hint of spicy heat from her mouth.
"Oi, what's wrong?" Blade whispers to Claude.
He slowly turns to his friend.
"Did you realize that the red stuff she put in her mouth were peppers?"
