"Calla, I've been ignoring you. I—"
"I know."
Sein's jaw set.
"I have a reason."
I shook my head and smiled. "You don't need to tell me."
He had his reasons. Whatever it was, I didn't have it in me to snoop into his private matters any further. It hurt me, I admit. But did I have a right to know what went on his mind in the first place?
"I want to." He placed his hand on top of mine. His hands were cold, as always. "I've been wanting to tell you."
I clamped my lips together and heaved in a breath to prepare myself. "Alright, then. Tell me."
To hell with not invading with his personal emotions. I wanted to know—I have been wanting to know.
He closed his eyes for a brief moment. "Calla, I..."
"Yes?"
"I..." The words seemed stuck on his throat.
I waited silently, looking at him expectantly.
He exhaled, averting his gaze to the floor.
