"Sure. Did I take too long?"
Len gave me a half smile and a knowing look. "You arrived at the perfect time. Calla here and I was just wrapping up our little talk."
Yeah right, it ended like a cliff-hanger of a novel without me being able to comprehend anything he was saying.
Lavi looked as though he wanted to ask what Len and I had been talking about. But he just shrugged. Or maybe that was what I wanted to think... again.
My eyes trailed to the papers Lavi was holding, his focus had only been directed to them since he appeared out of thin air for the last twenty... twenty-five seconds. I had only realized that I'd been counting the time.
I put aside my shame and called up a little bit of courage. Besides, we couldn't keep on like this.
"What are those?"
"Calla, I heard about your grandmother."
We spoke at the same time. Lavi had stopped shifting through the papers, although his attention was still fixated on them.
