All around the kingdom Vastei joyous voices rang.
"A prince has been born! All hail the King!" Someone had shouted.
Children laughed, adults made merry in the sunny afternoon light. Yet there was one that had disappointment written on him. A fourteen year old boy with platinum blonde hair and eyes covered by a black cloth. Dressed in a loose-fit buttoned shirt and brown cloth trousers the boy ran through the crowds, a large cat right behind him as he was heading towards the castle at the edge of the valley of which the village was built on.
Soon reaching the large stairs that would take him entrance of the castle. As the boy made his way up the stairs he heard singing, at the doors two large guards opened it for him. Still he hurries hearing the music grow louder as her made his way through the maze of rooms
"The path we're follow' be wary.
Time will move yet you can't see, the path we follow is absent here yet we'll find home in the morning,
The path we follow be wary.
The path we follow be wary.
We may not where you're going but you'll be home in the morn."
The boy heard a young woman sing. He continues following the music to a large room with many people. As he rushed in, the music stopped and all eyes looked to him.
"Raivis! There you are my dear!" A woman decorated with pearls and gemstones of every color cried out.
"I'm sorry that I'm late, Mother. By the time I had heard it was too late." The boy, named Raivis, said.
"My dear don't be down, come here. Come look at your little brother." The woman said with a smile.
Raivis walked over and looked at the bundle of fabrics held in his mother's arms. Inside laid a small brunette baby, a golden necklace carved with a small sun laid upon his pale skin. It smiled causing Raivis to give it a smile in return.
"He likes y'," A gruff voice rang out.
The older boy turned to look at the large blonde man he called father and gave him a rare smile.
"What are you going to name him?" Raivis questioned his mother while picking up the brown cat that had sat down next him.
"I was thinking of Sirius." she smiled," To give thanks to our god for this gift." The lady that stood next to her nodded her head in agreement as if she had heard this a thousand times.
"I feel that would be a wise choice, the future king must be one with the gods." Raivis stated bluntly.
"What are y' talking about boy? Your t' oldest son." The king said, confused over his son's words.
"Father," Raivis addressed,"It's all the people ever talk about, how I can't be the king. I have these god awful horns! Im not the same species as you and I'm not your son! You have an actual heir now you don't need me." After his rant the boy just stared at the ground, waiting for his 'parents' to react.
You see Raivis was found wandering the woods as a toddler. He was soon found by elves in a horrible state, malnourished, dehydrated and with his eyes gouged out. Since he had no where to go, the elves of that village decided to take him in. But because they didn't know the 2 year old's name they named him Raivis. Raivis stayed on his new guardian's land till he was 5 years old. In that time he was taught the basic languages of the world, as well as math, Archery, and survival skills.
When he was 5 he started developing his horns so they took him to doctor of the that village of elves, but since he was always alone he had no social skills and was very shy. The doctor found out that he was a faun but that didn't change much to his new guardians. Raivis kept living the same with the elves for 5 more years.
Then, when he turned 10 the Elven King Karahn and his subordinates came to the village. The king saw Raivis and pitied him, so he instructed one of the villagers to bring him a newborn animal, the elves complied and brought him a newborn kitten. Then one of the king's mages started casting a spell on both the kitten and Raivis. When the spell was complete Raivis could see, but he could only see the elves' feet. The kitten lifted it's head up and Raivis could see the elves completely. At this moment he realized that he was seeing out of the cats eyes.
The king then stated that Raivis was now his son and heir to the throne. Karahn then took Raivis to the castle and dubbed him prince Raivis of Vastei. Young Raivis then named the kitten Sigurd. The king, his father taught Raivis more lessons and Sigurd was always at Raivis' side this how it was for 4 more years. That is when Queen Yamakara found out that she was carrying a child.
The child turned out to be a boy and the actual heir to the throne. This is where our story begins.
