Chereads / To the Moon and Never Back / Chapter 8 - Love (3)

Chapter 8 - Love (3)

"Good morning, Sana!"

It was Yuna, hopping to get to her seat and throwing her bag to her desk.

"Good morning, you're early today.. did anything good happen, hm?" I playfully elbowed her as she rolled her eyes on me.

"Come on.. nothing happened. It's just I don't want to stay at home any longer.."

That again.. I removed the teasing smile on my face when she said that. Her parents never had a good relationship, for they were only forced to marry by Yuna's grandparents. Why do I know this? She told me.

"Good morning!" Vene lightened up the mood when she threw her arm around Yuna's shoulders. "How are you?! I'm fine, thank you!" She screams.

"Why do you always greet us that way?" Yuna groaned. "You sound like a five-year-old!" I laughed.

"Wasn't it sweet though? Aren't I just your most compassionate friend?" Vene replied and hugs the woman who doesn't like sweet stuff.

"Okay, Vene, you are.."

"Oh that's right!" Vene suddenly stands back up and clapped her newly painted hands. "I heard that a new teacher will be coming today!"

Oh.. that. Seven.

"Again?" Yuna asks. "Why are we getting new teachers today? Last time it was Deither and now, what is his profession?"

Vene placed her fancy and designed bag on her desk as she puts her chin on the palm of her hand. "I heard he is an English teacher."

"Bah," Yuna groaned. "Why do we still have to study English when it is our language?"

"It is because of the people who do not know where and when to use the words: there, their, they're. Also were, we're and you're, your.." I laughed at Vene's reply and Yuna gave her a smack in the head.

"You're pure evil.." Yuna whispered.

"What?!" Vene exclaimed, leaving Yuna and I laughing.

"Get to your seats!" The homeroom teacher smacked his hand to the blackboard and the students went on to their assigned seats. He placed his record book on the desk in front and announced to the class that a new teacher is here.

"He will be teaching you all English, it may be the language that we use, but we still have to get better at it. Some of us cannot make the perfect grammar even though we're grown ups.."

The whole class laughed at the teacher's comment but he quickly silenced them.

"His name is Seven Aris Peter, he was a former kindergarten teacher but finally decided to teach teenagers like you."

I'm surprised that he knew about him so much..

"Mr. Peter, please enter the room."

The door slides to the right as the tall man I know walks into the classroom. He is wearing a navy blue polo shirt, tucked in his black slacks partnered with shiny black shoes. In his hands, was a logbook and a pen. I smiled, he is all ready to teach these kids perfect English grammar..

Urgh.. why did I have to remind myself of that? The fact that he treats me like a child is not surprising at all.. I am only sixteen and he is in his 20's. Why do I have to feel hurt about it? He was right.. I am still a little girl.

"Hello students, pleasure to meet all of you.. I hope we'll all get along together," he smiles to the crowd.

"Wow, he's handsome." I heard Vene whispering from my side. "I wonder how old is he?"

"24." I muttered, and they looked at me.

"Oh that's right," Vene nods her head up and down. "You knew him way before he decided this.. you're a selfish woman. Keeping such a beautiful creature all to yourself..!"

"Anybody knows about the subject verb agreement?" Seven suddenly asked the class as they all went silent. They all have been throwing him nonsense questions like is he single or married.. how old was he.. to actually give them an exam-like question, is amusing.

"Hm, idiots." Yuna and I heard Vene whispering as we both quietly laughed.

"How are you adjusting to your new home?" Yuna asked, taking a big bite of her sandwich. It is now lunch time and we are at the roof at the moment. I started liking to eat our lunch here since the day that Deither embarrassed me in front of the whole class.

"It was a big house, and the twins and I aren't used to it. But slowly, we are. Savannah has always wanted to have a room of her own, same goes for her twin, Sylvester. I can see that they are happy.."

"That is good," Vene answers. "I was really afraid that you would leave yet again.. I don't want you disappearing from school again."

I giggled. "Yes ma'am, it won't happen agai—"

"There you are!" I flinched when I heard a very familiar voice behind me, a heavy arm was thrown on my shoulders that I almost spit out my food. "I've been looking everywhere for you!"

"Hi, Deither!" Vene waved at him.

"Hi Vene, and Yuna. And you-!" Deither pulled close to him. "Why have you been avoiding me these days?!"

"You've been getting too close to me that everyone misunderstands our relationship!" I shouted. "Like what you are doing right now! What do you think others would say if they see your arm around me?!"

"You're dating." My friends said in chorus.

"See!" I screamed. "Come on, Deither.. stop making everyone misunderstand the relationship that we have. Don't you care about your reputation? You are a teacher."

Deither sits down beside me as he shrugs. "Why, can't a teacher be friends with his student?"

"Well-"

"You can." My friends answered, as Deither raised his shoulders at me making me groan in frustration.

"It's just friendship, Sana.. you're the only who's thinking like that." Deither replied.

"Deither here is a good guy, San," Yuna added. "And aren't you the reason why his sister wanted to go to school? She liked you?"

I sighed. "Fine, just.. don't put your arm around me, okay?"

"Why not?" Deither did even though I just told him not to. "It doesn't mean anything! It just shows how close we are! I like to put my arm around my friends!"

"This is the reason why the students keep bombarding me with questions, like am I dating you and such!"

Deither started laughing, as he suddenly jumped on my back and nearly choked me. "Hahaha! Just say we are and they'll stop stalking you!"

"Are you insane?!" I shouted, the big guy still on my back. "You could get fired when I them that!"

"Aw," he jumped off and stared at me with puppy eyes. "You're so sweet.. you do not want me to leave this school?"

"What?"

"You like your teacher that much?"

I flushed and pushed him away. "What! You're mad! What are you even talking about!!?"

"Hahaha! I was just joking! I didn't expect you to blush," he teased.

Yuna chuckled. "She likes another guy, that's why she blushed."

"Yeah yeah! It was the first time too, that Sana has found someone she likes!"

"Ooh," Deither glared at me. "You like somebody?"

I sat back down the tiled floor, quickly finishing up my lunch and not looking at the three of them.

"Who is the lucky guy?" Deither tried to make me say who I like, but that will never happen. I don't ever want Seven to get into trouble because of me.

"Come on... spill it!" Deither tickled on the side but I turned myself around and a little far from him.

"She's never going to tell you," Yuna saved me and I let out a sigh of relief. "Sana here is new to romance.. she doesn't have any idea about it. Can you help her?"

What?!?!?!

"No," Deither sternly answered. "I'm not going to help a student when it comes to this.."

"Why not?" Vene asks.

"It is none of my business." He replied.

"Then," Yuna cuts in. "Would a person like your age, fall in love with a sixteen-year-old girl like Sanara?"

"Huh?" Deither's eyes grew wide as he stared at me. "The person you like is an adult like me?" He asks.

"No-"

"Yes! So would you fall in love with her?" Yuna and Vene shouted, leaning towards Deither and their faces are inches apart from his.

From the little space between the necks of my friends, Deither looked at me. Slowly, the girls moved away from the adult in front and waited for his answer patiently.

"Of course," he whispered. "If it's Sanara.. I'll fall in love with her, with no question."

He was looking into my eyes as he was saying those words. It made my heart skip a beat.. he sounded serious that it was really scary.

"She's good with kids!" He suddenly screamed, "Any woman that's good with kids would be wife material!"

Eh?

"Anyway, let's get you three back to your room! Lunch is almost over!"

Deither motioned us to walk to the door and shut it closed.

"Then, I'll see you later, girls. Study hard!"

He ran off to his next class as he waved us good bye.
