"You've been with us for more than five years," Yama sneered, "It's not like you don't really know us at all. You, of all people, should have known that when death comes knocking at our door then we'll welcome it with open arms."
Upon hearing that, Umi decided to ignore it. Of course, she knows. It will be a miracle if the gang showed fear in front of them, they are used on inflicting fear and never had experienced the feeling, thanks to their notorious leader.
"I won't argue with you. Sooner than later, you'll die. And no one will be able to save all of you, not even your so called leader."
Mori lifted his head, his eyes finally showing what he really felt. Pain. Disappointment. Anger. He can't imagine how all those years no one predicted that Umi was a spy. That she's just someone who has an ulterior motive. He can't explain what he is feeling right now, but he understands one thing. Prime's pain is more than what they are feeling right now.
She has always trusted Umi. She's like her right hand, and look what she had done. She bit the hand that feeds her.
"Ingrate!" Mori shouted, "You are disgusting! Just thinking that you've been with us all those years makes me want to puke!"
Heh! She must be laughing at them deep inside while they were all unaware! Such a shame!
Umi's eyes turned colder. "It's not like I wanted to be with your gang. You know what, I'll tell you a secret."
She smirked at them and Chikyuu was so annoyed that she wanted to scratch her face, but the guards behind her tighten their grips. It almost crushed her bones that she tried to fight back. Still, her attempt was futile. The three guards are stronger than her, two holding each of her arms while the third one is pushing her shoulders down.
The Oni really planned everything well and they even send their elite guards just to hold them down.
"Listen very well, I am not going to repeat it." Umi said, giving a warning glance at Chikyuu.
"All of you were just dragged into this. If you did not meet Prime and became close with her then you wouldn't be here. On the other hand, you all are perfect accessories in killing Prime deep inside. We plan on breaking her— mind, heart, and soul, and so the scheme had started a long time ago."
"What do you mean?" Jikan asked, confused.
"What I mean is that your death will not be meaningless. Since you all develop a close relationship with her then your death will shatter her into pieces. Aren't you all happy? You'll be a great sacrifice!"
The death of the sworn brothers. The betrayal of a friend. That is the only way they can totally break her will.
Chikyuu snickered. "I don't really understand, It seems that you don't have any intention of killing our leader. So you just want to stage some kind of emotional drama with her? Why didn't you change your career to acting? oh! Being a producer suited you more!"
Umi almost flared up again. Chikyuu has always been a thorn in her throat eversince they accepted her as a member of the gang. She might be sweet and pure-looking, but that kind of attitude is only for Prime, when it comes to her, Chikyuu's always frank and annoying.
When the time comes, she's going to dispatch her first.
"You don't need to understand. We just need her alive but dead inside. That's all you need to know."
Umi left them afterwards and when the door was opened she was greeted by the messenger who has been waiting for half an hour. He nervously bowed at her before telling the exact words Black had told him.
Umi curled up her lips. Of course, she will kill them but she's not that impatient to carry the task right away. It wouldn't be fun if she didn't savor the moment. First, she will visit Prime and laugh at her face.
She wanted to see her reaction, to know how deep the pain of betrayal is. She wants to witness it all like how the Kitsune leader witnessed her suffering a hundred years ago.
She'll settle some old scores with her.
It is just a pity that Prime lost her memories or else it would have been more fun if she remembers Umi, the girl she killed with her own hands.
Suddenly remembering the past, Umi clenched her fist. She should not be thinking about it. In the past she died in her hands, but this time she'll watch Prime crumbled into pieces.
