The next day, the stench of alcohol filled the air all around the house. It was strong and uncomfortable.
The eight people sleep soundlessly. They were sprawled everywhere: at the dining table, near the refrigerator, and somewhere at the living room. The first ray of sunshine landed at the broken window and it gave off a very nostalgic vibe around the house - though the rumored bloodthirsty gang lived there it doesn't seem cold and scary at all.
It has a familiar feeling. A home. A happy one.
A moment later, the peace was broken.
The incessant ringing disturbed the silence inside the house. It was long and continues that Prime groggily fluttered her eyes open. Her eyes adjusted to the light slowly, but the moment her blurry vision became clear she was stupefied.
The house that she has been living in for five years is now a total mess. She almost thought she slept on the wrong one.
"WHAT HAPPENED TO MY HOUSE?!"
Her scream awaken the others, even the doorbell has stopped ringing, as if the visitor heard her all the way from the gate.
"S-sis, what is it?" Chikyuu was the first one to ask.
She lazily sat down at the sofa beside her.
"COME HERE, ALL OF YOU!"
It took time before everyone came to her, their brows furrowed, thinking what would make their leader this angry.
"Look around you." Prime ordered and everyone did.
"Holy sh*t! Who did this?!" Yama was the first one to react.
Kaze seriously glanced at their leader. "Sis, were you so angry that you started smashing things?"
Prime gritted her teeth. A headache is now coming due to hangover.
"Do I look that wild to you?"
"Then what happened? Were we robbed?" Mori asked.
Seeing that they are still clueless, Prime crossed her arms and arrogantly put her feet at the table.
"Do you think a robber would smash things rather than to steal them?" A small smile formed on her lips.
A shiver run down their spine.
"Judging from the damage, only people like us could do it. So, who did it?"
Everyone remained silent as if remembering something.
The gang was so drunk last night that they started brawling just to prove who is stronger enough to protect their leader. The fight took at least half an hour that some of the furnitures are either broken or smashed to smithereens.
There's also that obvious dent at the wall and the missing main door.
It was not a robber. It's clearly them who turned the house upside down, and only the sofa where their leader is sleeping was left untouched.
Jikan faked a cough. "Sis Prime, this... Ah, maybe they can still..."
"What? You think I earned too much last night that you all started breaking things?! Do you know how much it costs to repair- no! It can't be repaired at all, it needs to be replaced!"
Yama was about to retort when the doorbell rang again.
This time, that atmosphere around them become tense. Outsiders do not know where the Kitsune gang resides. It was one of the mysteries of Edo City.
"Wear your masks." Prime was still a bit dazed before that she didn't bother to know why she was awaken.
She immediately put the mask in her face before quietly heading out using the back door.
The others followed suit and took a different paths to look from different angles. Nobody took the doorless entrance, because if the visitor is an enemy then it would be easier for them for ambush.
Outside, someone is nervously pacing back and forth at the gate. He is a skinny young man with a curly brown hair. His head was down so when Prime showed up he did not notice her at all.
He was too nervous and frightened that the hand that's holding a black envelope started shaking. Prime smiled, taking advantage of his cluelessness to take the envelope from his hand.
Her hand stretched out and the young man stood frozen while two fingers snatched the thing away.
"I'll pick your eyes out and eat them if you don't speak. Who sent you here?"
