Tee stared blankly for a moment before firing another set of questions at Zai.
"You know, you should start answering me," he blurts out.
Zai chuckles, "Well, something interesting happened last night. I was sure as hell that I'll be fired from the job but turns out I got tangled into a mess with the right guy."
"Right guy?" Tee gives him a puzzled look. "A guy is making you daydream out of nowhere?"
"He's not just any guy." Zai takes a sip of his drink.
"Don't tell it was the stone-cold birthday boy who was the host of yesterday's party?"
Zai choked at his drink. "No, of course not," he denies.
He knew clearly how the conversation would not end once he admits that he was amuse of the guy his friend mentioned. But, he wasn't wrong. At that moment, they were so close to each other. And, the soft smirk on Fah's face didn't go unnoticed as he kept a good look at him. Although, this is entirely new for Zai, he was well-aware that he did feel attraction towards him. But it's not like he can ever pursue the deal of the matter. After all, he wasn't planning on entering the circle Fah is in - the very one he is running away from.
Just then, another chatterbox enters the café. Claire clings onto Fah's arm as she keeps talking about what happened last night.
"I gotta give it to that waiter. He sure did a nice job messing you up," she chuckles.
Fah gives her a mean look. "Shut your mouth. People might get the wrong idea."
"What? He did mess up your clothes."
Fah looked annoyed and turned away. And as he did, Zai faced his direction and their eyes meet. They maintained eye contact for a good minute before being interrupted by both their friends.
"Aren't you going to order?" Claire asks.
"Class is about to start. What else are you lookin' at?" Tee questions Zai.
Zai picks up his stuff and gets up. As he walks out, he passes by the counter where Claire and Fah were at. He gives a nod and a small smile as soon as he saw the latter looking at him.
"Wasn't that the waiter last night?"
Fah nods.
"Isn't it too soon for another encounter? Who would've thought he's a student here?"
'It is too soon. But, maybe for a reason,' Fah thinks to himself.
