Izzy searched her bag for her phone and saw the missed calls from him. She immediately felt bad.
"Sorry my phone was on silent, I didn't hear it when it rang" she explained.
"Why would you put your phone on silent?" He suspiciously asked.
What could she have been doing throughout the night instead of sleeping that required her to have her phone on silent?
The truth was that the hospital rules stated that, to avoid disturbing sleeping patients, all phones should be kept on silent at all times. But she wasn't going to tell him that.
"Remember, rule number two, my personal life is my personal life. Do not interfere" she spat at him as she pushed past him to unlock her front door.
"This is different" he immediately said.
She paused, her hands' inches away from fixing the key into the keyhole.
"How?"
His eyes moved away from hers and landed on the floor.
