I block out the teacher's voice as I stare at pictures of Izzy and me on my phone which is well hidden under the table. Today is Wednesday, Izzy and I normally spend this day together,
"Miss Clinton, what is the answer to the question", the teacher asks, staring at me, I look around me, everyone is staring,
I didn't hear the question,
"Stand up and answer the question",
I stand up slowly, the noise of my phone hitting the ground reminds me that my phone was on my lap, is it wrong that right now I'm more concerned about my phone screen getting a scratch than about getting punished for getting caught with it.
"I'll see you at detention Miss Clinton " then she turns to the class,
"who can answer the question?",
Someone raises their hands and answers the question correctly,
I take my seat, pick up my phone.
I breathe a sigh of relief that there are no scratches on the screen.
