a stern powerful-looking older gentleman in a gray business suit and tie walked in
with black and silver striped hair brushed into a severe ponytail and cold blue eyes his lips drawn into a thin line
he didn't look like the type of person you messed around with
"good morning everyone" he greeted them
"welcome, Daisuke, Liam, Kaleb, Zane, Melody, Kanna, and who might this be?" He inquired
"I'm Sienna" she replied politely "nice to meet you "
"I'm Mr. Williams the CEO of Eclipse Entertainment it's nice to meet you Sienna"
"Daisuke I called you all in to discuss the band's debut,
with us are the company's songwriter music producer and sound engineer they will be assigned to your band"
he said introducing three people sitting at the table across from them
"I want to sign Sienna to our band as our songwriter" Daisuke interrupted
"Really now?" Mr. Williams responded skeptically "I am quite curious as to why this young lady is with you? when this meeting is for band members only"
"we would like to make her our official band member and hopefully have her signed on today
thats, why I brought her here to this meeting" Daisuke, said
"You are aware our staff here are professionals being put at your disposal?" Mr. Williams said
"I do understand that so I brought something that we think can convince you" Daisuke explained
"This is a song that sienna wrote for us"
putting the Zelon drive on the table he slid it across to the CEO
"I and the band worked on it, it's already recorded, and I finished the production on it myself, as well would you guys mind having a listen?"
Mr. Williams picked up the Zelon drive
"Do you say you already finished recording and production yourselves? when did you do this?" he asked
"I don't recall you having requested any studio time with us?"
"ahh I forgot to mention this to you," Daisuke said, "you told us to move a little while ago and so we did, we spent our signing money on a great property for ourselves its a nice home"
"and I also invested in hiring a professional company to renovate our third floor we have our own recording studio and production studio as well as a practice room"
"We also gave melody an editing studio she is going to be making videos and content for us to release on the star streams for our fans to watch and such
I felt that having to schedule studio time every time I wanted to work on something would be a bit inconvenient, I'm the type who needs to work whenever I feel inspired, I have a tendency to shut myself in the studio in the middle of the night sometimes when I can't sleep"
"so you're telling me this song is done?" Mr. Williams asked
"yes just give it a listen the lyrics are quite excellent as well," Daisuke said
he gave sienna a doubtful look but he plugged it into the audio system
and the song began to play
the expressions on the faces of the executives in the room changed from doubtful to shock and disbelief as they heard the song
No one could believe what they were listening to
the sound engineer put his hands on top of his head and gazed at Daisuke in disbelief
Daisuke grinned in satisfaction he knew there was no way the engineer could have put together the blend of genres and sounds he had used so flawlessly
along with the trademark drop and special sound effects he had created it was a completely new and original sound
with Daisuke leading the vocals Zane with a sexy low tone rap flow and Liam and Kaleb harmonizing back vocals and fun adlibs it was perfection
as the song exploded into the drop again leading into the finale that Daisuke once again led with all the guys singing a chorus
with him, it became a banging anthem sienna had a grin on her face as the songwriter kept giving her shocked looks
she could just imagine this song live at a concert with everyone going crazy
The song came to an end with Daisuke hitting a beautiful closing high note that faded off she couldn't help grinning at him
Well, Mr. Williams? Daisuke asked
"young lady, did you really write this song?" he asked in shock
"yes I wrote this song" sienna replied with confidence grinning from ear to ear
"but it's the band and Daisuke that made it sound this amazing its great right?"
"do you have more songs like this?" Mr. Williams asked
"I write as a hobby" Sienna explained
"Daisuke is the one who saw my writing and convinced me to come here and wants me to join his band"
the songwriter exhaled
"looks like you just put me out of job kiddo" he stated enthusiastically
"I can't judge your talent this song is amazing if I can give you and Mr. Williams the lyrical breakdown of this"
"she has put literally double meanings to her lyrics into every line of this song,
the lyrics seem really simple, your typical breakup love song, but it totally not, it has a very dark depth to it,
right from the start, she says she's been shot through with a bullet, and the wound is cauterized so it doesn't bleed,
if you think about the heart as an organ, it pumps blood through the body and it beats
but if it's been shot with a bullet, then that means the heart is injured,
thats already bad enough, but then the wound its cauterized, so the heart is literally burnt,
if the heart is shot and burnt, it's absolutely a fatal injury,
the person that heart belongs to is literally dead already,
so she's saying from the start she's dead inside, she can't feel anything anymore, because of the heartbreak,
all of the beautiful romantic things she enjoyed before when she was in love,
she's seeing them for what they really are now, and they aren't beautiful to her anymore not, in reality,
they weren't from the start, it was doomed to fail, but she just didn't see it, love is blind
as the song goes on it sounds like she's having the time of her life, but she's really not,
she's self-destructing and doing dangerous things, like ring surfing, it's exciting and extremely dangerous,
she's literally playing with her life, and she's doing these things in the hopes of being able to feel something again,
but she can't, she's numb, so she's trying to forget about the one who hurt her,
she's trying to put herself back together, trying to move on,
but she's hollow inside, so she's not the same as she used to be, she's broken
its actually very cleverly written, the way she writes is the way that, I spend hours trying to scrape my brain
to write and never can, unless I'm like crazy inspired or something, it happens only once in a blue moon,
it looks like one thing on the surface, but if you look past the surface, it means something else entirely,
it's so twisted in a really wicked way, its a story hidden within a story, and sugar coated with Daisuke's production into a banging dance song
it makes me wonder what kind of messed up life experiences she's had to be able to write like this? at such a young age too?"
"how old are you?" he asked her
"I'm eighteen" Sienna replied "you can thank my parents for immigrating here from Earth 2 and then abandoning me at fifteen by the way"
he released a whistle "abandonment on a foreign world no wonder! must have been really rough for you surviving on your own at that age, the emotional trauma, all of that will do it for sure"
so you discovered an untapped talent Mr. Williams said thoughtfully
"I want her signed to our songwriting department" the songwriter stated I can guide her
"No!" Daisuke said "I found her she belongs to me exclusively we will be promoting as a songwriting and producing duo within the band"
"I will not make it harder on myself by sharing my best weapon with others and having
you guide her, will mess with her creative process, cause you'll try to make her a pro too much
I need her writing to stay as pure as it is right now, in her own way and style
silver shadows will be number one in the galaxy do you understand i'm talking
about doing this rocket cowboys style complete domination
i want our songs playing in every ship across the stars just like they did"
"Daisuke i understand you're ambitious but you shouldn't be so hard-line" the music producer cut in "you need to cooperate with us"
"The future of your band will depend on her as your songwriter you should nurture and train her"
"no you don't understand!" Daisuke argued
"she's been writing since she was a kid, her writing isn't in songs and lyrics like a professional would be,
she writes in her journal every day, and she has multiple journals already completed,
she chronicles her experiences, her journey from Earth 2, all the way across the galaxy until she got here
a year later, then her entire adaption, and the years she spent growing up here, and even through her family falling apart, and the following abandonment, her life on her own since then,
it's basically the very personal story of her life from beginning to now
that we are going to be drawing from and translating into songs
this isn't just her story, its the story of literally every kid growing up in this generation out here in the galaxy today,
shutting her up in some workroom, and trying to make her write like a pro
will ruin her, she needs to continue living her life, having experiences
and writing as she is, this is what will make our music resonate and be relatable to everyone"
Daisuke insisted
"If I may have a say" sienna interrupted softly
The table fell silent
"I agreed to come here only because of Daisuke" she stated
"I trust him even though I doubt my own skills since I'm so new at this,
I don't think it's right for the label to suddenly declare me a songwriting expert
I also have concerns as to whether not I really can write great songs or whether it's that
Daisuke is the one, who has the ability to make my writing sound this amazing with his composing and producing skills,
he has everything already mapped out in his head it's his vision how he's going to translate my writings and what direction it will take,
how we will tell the story to everyone i don't think there is anyone else who would be able to understand it and do it like he can
I think it takes both of us together to create music that sounds great like this that makes all the difference,
lyrics are nothing without the melody or the singers to tell the story my lyrics are just words on paper after all" she finished
"She's not wrong about that either" the producer agreed "we would be taking a huge risk on an amateur talent
if we sign her and give what she has written to another band, and then they can't connect with her story, they cant translate it right, in that case, she will just become a failed songwriter,
all of that great material will be wasted, but if Daisuke already has a plan and he's prepared and it can work and be successful, I don't think we should mess with it, we should just let them do their thing and see where it goes"
"I want her signed to the band and I want her name credited on every song she writes and I want her to be paid a portion of the royalties," Daisuke said
"how much?" Mr. Williams asked
"Daisuke and I agreed on forty percent each split since I wrote it and he's doing the producing," sienna said
"We are also using our own studios for recording and production" Daisuke added
"so you intend to give the label only twenty percent on royalties?" Mr. Williams asked
"I'm willing to take a thirty-forty split with sienna," Daisuke said "and give the label thirty percent but only as long as you make sure you give us the proper promotions we want and
I'm talking about music videos, concerts, and Merch, the label will still make a profit from those
we will produce our own star stream content independently with Melody so that will be ours"
