Even after the burning in his brain went away, Jon stood there almost dumbstruck as he could recount every single detail of the workings of energies in his body and of how to summon and practice with Gungnir, the magic spear of light. As soon as he went over the information a few times, he left the cave and began to walk home.
Following the trail, Jon wanted to mess around with his newly gained knowledge. Imagining his internal energies as a fire, he forced the visualization into the center of his palms. Letting the power grow, he imagined the flames as light instead of heat. He felt as if pins and needles were pricking the skin of his palms, but he remained calm and continued with the summoning spell. He imagined Woden's face and tried to link their energies, but as soon as he took his attention away from his palms, he lost the energy in his palms. Even IF he were to link energies with Woden now, the bridge between the spirit realms and the physical world was broken and no spear would be summoned.
Jon now realized that even with the knowledge he had gained, there was still a learning curve he needed to push past and the only way to get better was to fail. Jon continued to fail and learn the entire way home. Feeling as though little progress had been made, Jon was becoming frustrated and decided to meditate on energy and focus.
After being in this meditation state for a few hours, recollecting the memories, Jon felt that he could perform this spell with a little physical practice. Jon went outside under the fading light and began to go through all the steps. Jon continued to fail, however he could now link energies with Woden, he was still somehow dropping his focus and losing the energy in his palms.
Frustrated, Jon went into his home and laid down to sleep.
Jon woke yet again in another place, as he sat up he did not feel panic like last time. It seems to be a different place, mostly seeming to be made of gold. As Jon put his feet on the floor he felt the cool, smooth stone as if he were on earth. This surprised him and he almost gasped, not expecting the floor to feel like anything at all. As he stood, Jon felt as though he had physical weight to him, completely opposite of being in the realm of the battle clad Goddess from Frosthorn.
Slowly walking towards the gilded door, Jon reached out for the handle. Before he could even touch the door, it opened and a very tall, muscular man with long hair and a full beard, growing to his chest, but thickly braided, hair whiter than snow. He was dressed in a golden robe and the man was just standing there, staring at him.
His expression immediately softened.
"My boy, it is you! I am so happy to see you here in my hallowed halls! What is the purpose of your visit, Jon?" the familiar voice croaked at him. He recognized the voice to be Woden, the Allfather.
"I actually do not know why I am here, maybe I was linking my energy to you while I slept and it brought me here?" Jon was truly confused and this was just his best guess.
"My, what an observant human you are! That is one of the reasons you are here, your consciousness is here because you linked to me. You will be familiarizing yourself to my home world. This will help you become familiar with the feeling of my energy, and with summoning my Gungnir." Woden was happily surprised with his newfound Champion.
"You must only stay until you are ready to leave, or you may find it difficult to leave." With that, Woden turned and left, his figure almost disappearing completely into the dimly lit hallway.
Jon was yet again without words as he had his mind blown away. He realized what was said to him and immediately say down and closed his eyes, feeling the energy of his surroundings. This feeling was almost indescribable. It was more than a feeling, but almost every sense he had was being stimulated. He smelled the pine tar in the air, he heard wind swishing around him, he felt the energy tingling against his skin, for some reason he could taste... ale?! That is very fitting for the God of Gods in the North, as Northmen were known for consuming vast amounts of ale. When he rose again and opened his eyes, he was relieved to find that he was back in his bed, laying down still.
Jon went back to sleep as it was still the middle of the night. He had no dreams and woke to light streaming through his shutters as soon as his head hit the pillow. Jon got dressed, ate breakfast and talked with his family. His father was going to be working in the field today, growing grain to store for Winter. Jon decided to help him and they worked tirelessly almost all day. When they had finished Jon went into the woods and sat on a log.
He began raising the energy in his hands needed to summon Gungnir, while maintaining focus on Woden's hall. This split focus took a lot of mental energy and his spell fizzled as he was too tired from his work in the field.
Regardless Jon kept trying and trying, each time the spell would fizzle as he started to mix his energy and Woden's. Thinking he was too tired, he decided to go back home and sleep.
The next morning, Jon went right back into the woods, sat in the same spot, and began trying to summon Gungnir. This time the spell did not fizzle away and light began to shine from Jon's hands, almost meeting between his hands to form a shape. Feeling excitement creeping up on him, Jon shifted his focus and the spell fizzled out. More frustrated than when he could not summon anything, he jumped up and kicked the log hard, mushing in a rotten spot in the wood.
Jon focused and tried to calm himself down. Feeling the calm wash over him, Jon stood there and tried to summon Gungnir.
As he was going through the spell, the light quickly shone from the palms of his hands, almost immediately meeting in the middle and settling into a golden rod. As soon as the bright yellow light disappeared, a gleaming golden spear about 7 feet long appeared in his hands, the entire spear was so light, it felt that he could carry 10 of them without it being as heavy as a normal spear of this size. Jon barely touched the tip of the spearhead and immediately a drop of blood trickled down. "This is truly an incredible weapon. I could not be happier with this spell, now I just need to learn how to fight with a spear!" Jon was laughing internally at himself as he knew the basics, as did all of the boys growing up in his town. He was not especially good with the more advanced, intricate style of fighting with a spear. Time to learn.
