The feeling you get when you know someone cares for you, someone misses you, someone cries seeing you hurt, someone eagerly waits for your safe return, this is the feeling that makes you feel more alive and this feeling is invaluable.
Abhi felt immense happiness in his heart looking at Maira. He felt light in his heart that she will never leave them.
He wants to tell her how hard it was to miss her and how much he wants to be with her. He doesn't know how to express that in words.
He raised Maira's head by her chin and landed his lips on hers. Maira didn't know what was happening. She opened her eyes wide, but soon she fell into a trance. She closed her eyes and started reciprocating to him.
She's having goosebumps all over her body as he starts kissing on her neck, her ears and all her face. She just kept her eyes shut and hugged him tight.
He then brought her face straight opposite to his and planted an ecstatic kiss on her lips. He felt butterflies in the lower part of his chest and he let the heavenly feeling continue for both of them.
They never knew what a kiss feels like. "Maira, can you now understand how much i missed you?" Abhi asked, taking her face between his palms.
"You still think you missed me more than I missed you?" Maira smiled.
"Haha, you win..! But..."
"But..?"
"But you know.. I was not sure if I would ever see you ag...", Maira shut him covering his mouth with her palm.
He then kissed her palm making her take it off his mouth. "But here I am, safe..! With my Maira.." he smiled.
Maira smiled back at him. She took his hands into hers and directed him to the bed since it's the only place in the room to sit. They both sat on the bed opposite to each other.
Maira asked Abhi to move close and lean forward. Abhi with high hopes, leaned forward with his lips out and eyes closed. She then brought her hand towards his face and gave him a weak slap. Then she moved his hair away where bandages were hiding.
"Do these hurt, Abhi?" she asked.
"No Maira. Not anymore.." Abhi said mischievously.
Maira glared at Abhi a moment and observed the wounds. She felt some wounds look strange.
"Abhi. Let's talk." Maira sounded serious.
"Maira. I want to speak with you about a lot of things but now I am feeling dizzy. I want to sleep in your lap. Can I?" Abhi requested.
Maira felt a pang in her heart. How many sleepless nights he might've gone through. Maira nodded, moved and rested her back against the wall.
She sat cross legged and Abhi placed his head in her lap. Maira started caressing his hair .
"Now. GO to sleep. Don't think about anything" Maira said.
Abhi nodded his head and closed his eyes. Maira sang a verse that Raji used to sing to her as a child and like that, Abhi fell into a deep slumber in no time.
Maira looked at Abhi sleeping like a child. She kissed on his forehead and said "Sleep without any worries."
Abhi woke up with a smile on his face. He slept peacefully after so many days. This time he woke up not because of a nightmare and that didn't surprise him as Maira is with him now. Having a sound peaceful sleep felt wonderful.
He turned his head and looked for Maira. She left the room already. Abhi carefully got down from the bed and went near the window to open the curtains. When he looked outside the sun was already above head.
'It seems I slept for the whole half day' Abhi thought to himself.
Abhi into the bathroom to freshen up.
Few hours ago Maira woke up and left the room after making sure Abhi was sleeping comfortably on the bed. She checked on him a few more minutes and left the room through the window.
Maira went directly into her room and freshened up. She left the room after checking Ashmita's needs.
She fed Ashmita some juice and she also had some breakfast. She left the room asking the servants to look after Ashmita and sent one to inform Yashoda to come to the room.
Maira went straight to Shivraj and Aaradhya's room and informed the guard to inform her presence.
Within seconds the room doors opened and Aaradhya came to the door to receive Maira.
"Greeting Mother!!" Maira greeted politely.
"Maira, come dear. You don't have to stand there and ask to meet us" Aaradhya invited Maira inside.
Maira nodded her head and went inside the room. Shivraj sat on the couch and maira went towards him.
"Greetings Father!" Maira greeted Shivraj.
"SIt down Maira. What brings you here? Are you feeling good today?" Shivraj enquired with gentleness in his eyes.
"Yes father. I am alright now. I came to discuss something with you" Maira said.
Aaradhya poured some tea in the cup and passed it to Maira which she accepted with a smile. Aaradhya placed some snacks also.
"Before speaking all those things. Tell me whether you had breakfast or not?" Aaradhya asked.
"Yes mother. I had, just before coming here. What about you? Did you both have your breakfast?" Maira informed and asked about them.
"Yes, today we had our breakfast here only. Ok now discuss the matters." Aaradhya informed with a smile.
Miara nodded and looked at Shivraj into his eyes and asked, "Father, did you know about Abhijit?"
