Chapter 20 - Chapter 20

Questioning my decisions isn't something I often do, but I should have figured out that finding a hidden dimension wouldn't be the easiest thing. If only Asgard would keep a better eye on the happenings of Midgard this would have been way faster.

I could learn chi from other sources, but it would be better to learn it from people who studied and experimented on it for thousands of years. I regret barely paying attention to Iron Fist, but I easily came up with a solution that doesn't involve a spell that would encompass the entire china to find hidden places.

My solution is consulting the place where all supernatural happenings of Midgard are taken note of. The Kamar Taj library. Most of the time I was here I have mostly focused on learning their magic and haven't had time to study history or supernatural locations such as K'un-Lun.

One of the worst things about the library is the non-existent index. Finding things is a pain in the ass and makes me want to use the time stone to go back in time to spank Agamotto and educate the fool to teach his students to be more organised.

I sigh as I move the book on succubi out of the shelf with books about raising magical children. I wouldn't be surprised to find porn in the kid section.

It took me a while but I finally found a book about the place. I left the library and ran into my favourite bald woman. "Yo, Baldy. You should really get this place organised. Even my musclehead of a brother's room has more order than this."

"Noted. Congratulations on awaiting a new member to your family." She says.

I sigh as I was just about to brag about having another child. "You sure do get your kicks out of this. Still, there are worse kinks out there. I still feel chills when someone mentions anything along the line of 2 girls and a cup."

I shuddered as I immediately vividly relived that. Sometimes my memory is a curse. She looks amused at my reaction. "If it can get such a reaction out of you then I don't even want to learn what it is. So what are you naming her."

"Elsa. One of the best ice magic users had that name and since she will most likely inherit a good ice affinity since I am a frost jotunn. So I thought the name was appropriate." Technically not untrue, she has my father Laufey beat in the area.

"If you're expecting a child, shouldn't you be helping and not going through dusty old books." She says bemusedly.

"Of course I am helping. I am going through the books to find out the best spots to take my child as a vacation spot when she gets older." She looks dubious at my bullshit. "Trust me, I am a veteran parent, I know what I am doing." I say completely ignoring the fact that a snake giant is entirely different to raise than an elf giant.

We chat and catch up for a while before travelling back to China. This time with the knowledge of the location. Reading a book I came across another annoyance: the fact that it can only be accessed every 15 years. It's a pain in the ass, but it is something that someone with my large magical knowledge can bypass with enough time. I chose to traverse the K'un-Lun Mountains like a mundane since mountain climbing has always been a bit of a pastime before Tyche fucked me over and gave me a disease. The mountain was quite cold, but naturally, the temperature just filled me with contentment.

I quickly found the entrance to the hidden city and thought of how I would approach this. I know I will be treated with suspicion at best and most likely they will try to detain me if I break into this place and I really don't want to cause unnecessary drama. Luckily I have learned to hide from various numbers of abilities and chi just so happens to be part of that amount that I know to conceal myself from.

I quickly begin using spells and runes to find a method to bypass the rules and enter. I have to admit it was more complicated than I thought it would be. I would be impressed if my pride wasn't hurt because non-magic users kept me out of their base even though the defence was magical in nature.

It took some time for me to be able to enter without alerting the entire city and in the end, I almost regretted beginning the venture, but I am extremely stubborn so I kept at it. Moving through the gate sneakily I encounter an Asian man with Chinese robes. The current iron fist I presume, the guardian of the gate.

Faster than any normal person could react I grab his face and immediately dive into his head. I go through everything he knows about the place as well as his knowledge of chi. When I am finally done I remove the knowledge of my presence from his memories.

'Chi is a mystical form of energy that is present in every life form. As a weapon, chi is capable of generating an "internal force" that removes the need for charging momentum.' Basic stuff: I got out my iron fist buddy.

I change my looks as I get ready to spend a while here to make chi my bitch and to increase my list of fighting styles I have mastered. To think I am doing all of this because I don't want to deal with a hormonal pregnant woman.

After changing my looks into one of the residents I head forward and begin going to a nearby settlement and the first place I am heading to is the library. No wonder I was somewhat bullied for being a nerd in my previous life, that and being essentially a teen in university.
