Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

"So how do you want us to do this, Thor" I ask. "I can use illusion magic to allow us to easily infiltrate her or an area of effect spell that will break her spell, but they will need to be in the same place."

"Infiltration will be the most efficient since it would be difficult to get everyone in one place and I doubt you would individually break the spells." Thor says and I nod at his words since I really won't volunteer to such tedious work.

"What should I do?" Sif asks and I realize I have completely ignored her. Not surprising since our relationship is a bit complicated.

"Guard the palace, while we solve this situation." I order before waving my hand around transforming into one of the soldiers.

Thor and I quickly head to the location Heimdall gave them. While we are heading in that direction we see plenty of soldiers going towards the palace most likely to siege. I laugh at their foolish decision since the destroyer can make quick work of any one of them.

"Shouldn't we stop them, brother? What if they attack." Thor asks.

"Don't underestimate Asgard's defences, brother. Most that do, don't get to live past the day." We quiet down and I turn us invisible since it would be suspicious if one of her soldiers returned now that they were sent to engage the palace.

Quite unfortunate since I wanted to see Thor's acting skills and how he would convince them that he was one of them. I should probably be more upset about this situation since a lot of the Einherjar are dying.

With more deaths on our side since our soldiers don't want to kill the others since they know they are doing this without their control. At most I just find this situation irritating and for me to let out a bit of frustration.

The area where our villainess of the day made her base was in a desolate area of the forest. We approached and I looked at it and saw hundreds of soldiers surrounding it. There seem to spells to conceal the area, but very few can hide from Heimdall and a lot of people underestimate his gaze.

It took me decades to find a way to fool his sight and I am not just talking about becoming invisible but letting him see things that are not really there etc. I sigh at the number of people she has under her control, admiring her skill with mind magic for a minute.

There are a few detection wards, but nothing special and I used my superior magical knowledge to easily hide. Activating a scrying spell I look at where her escape points are. It seems that she has a teleportation gate. Not bad I thought, but it isn't powerful enough to get her off-world.

"That portal looks like her method of escape and if she has any other methods I could easily track her." I whisper to Thor and I see him just nod, although he was invisible I could see perfectly and he in turn me. "Give me a second I will sneakily destroy her escape method."

I pull out my wrist bow from my hammerspace to shoot a device that I made to quietly disable most magical objects, but I am beaten by a flying hammer heading towards the portal before breaking it. I sigh as I look at him ruining our element of surprise.

"Oops, I thought you wanted to break it and heard the last part of your sentence too late." Thor says sheepishly while rubbing the back of his head.

"Well, at least it would be more fun like this." I say.

The mind-controlled Einherjar immediately rush us and Thor summons his hammer back while getting in a combat stance. I meanwhile turn into a dragon that has a paralysing breath so that I don't instantly kill them since they are still my people.

"Parry this you filthy casuals." I grumble in my deep draconic voice before breathing on most of the warriors near watching as they drop like flies.

I see a few of them cower at my display and a beautiful brunette in distance. A scowl marred on her face and she began to give orders to the archers to shoot from the distance.

Unfortunately for them, dragon skin is quite durable and I began to move forward, hitting anyone with my body where my breath can't reach.

Thor meanwhile is taking on several of them on his own, summoning lighting wherever they are surrounding him. I quickly move to the brunette to end this charade and show the foolish woman the errors of her arrogance. As soon as I reach her I revert from my draconic form into my original form.

"You know Amora is going to be more of an irritation when she finds out I killed her sister."

Her previous scowl is long gone and her features turn mostly to fear and concern. It changes this and if my body language reading skills are true, she gains a bit of determination. "You will obey me and I shall reward you with endless pleasure."

As I feel something trying to connect to my mind. I had a bit of trouble keeping my face straight and not laughing at the wench who thought she could fuck with mind. I failed spectacularly and began to laugh out loud. The casual thinks she can beat someone who studied mind magic for centuries, laughable I tell you.

"What is your next move, little witch, don't tell me that all the magic you know." When she flinched, I had all the answers.

Moving faster than she can react I plunge my hand in her chest and look in her mind and began to look through every memory of the now named Lorelei. My findings were as disappointing as this fight.

When I was finished I crushed her heart and cursed her for only specializing in seduction magic which caused this fight to be lacklustre and I know it wasn't for a lack of resources since her sister is an accomplished magic-user. Her spell on the people finally broke and I saw the few people who Thor was fighting letting confused.

I sigh at having to deal with the fallout of what happened here. Thor walks up to me with a frown on his face.

"What is it, brother? I can see you are troubled by something." I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"You could have locked her up, she was still an Asgardian and we can't be too cruel."

"Tell that to the families that have lost members of their family because of her foolish ambition."

"Then perhaps we could have let her be executed in public where everyone could see." He says solemnly.

"Perhaps. Oh, and I want to let you know I am moving out."

He becomes incredulous at my words. "W...What, why, is it about you being a frost giant, brother you know we still love you."

I lightly smack the fool on the head "I am more than 400 years old and a father, it's dishonouring that I haven't gotten a place earlier." We fell in companionable silence as we led the former controlled soldiers back.
