Chapter 6 - Meeting A Friend With The Cute Demon Girl

It took them about 10 minutes to get to the restaurant Hakaku's friend was at.

"Hi, Hakaku-kun!" a girl with black hair with a single blue streak, grey-blueish eyes, a light blue crop top along with blue high heels, dark blue sunglasses sitting on her hair and a blue skirt.

If anybody needed to describe her style all they would need to say would be... BLUE.

"Hi, Saya!" Hakaku replied to the girl.

The girl in front of them was Saya, the girl who had texted him.

"Come over here! Let's have a snack!" Damaru replied with a warm smile.

"Sure" Hakaku then replied, "By the way, I didn't mention I would bring her, but this is my friend Damaru!"

"Oh nice to meet you!" Saya quickly replied.

"Hello!" Damaru happily replied.

And so Damaru and Hakaku sat down and ordered their food.

Hakaku ordered a strawberry smoothie and waffle, Damaru didn't understand anything in the menu, even after Hakaku read the options out loud, so Hakaku bought her an ice tea, while Saya ate her honey cake.

"So what have *you* been doing in your leap year, Hakaku-kun?" Saya asked Hakaku.

"Leap year? What's that?" Damaru asked.

"So you know school right?" Hakaku replied with a question.

"Yes I do."

"And I'v basically finished the first level of school and am taking a year to rest before the next level. Understand."

"I do."

"And in this year I can do whatever I want."

"I see." Damaru said after gaining the new information, "S... what *have* you been doing?"

"Well, I moved to Tokyo, started renting a super cheap apartment, a cute demon girl came from another world through my mirror and I... ate."

"Oh that's cool..." Saya asked then paused to process the information, "Wait did you say "A demon girl came from another world through my mirror"?!"

"O-oh I mean... A bean came from another word from nearer." Hakaku replied trying to stitch together a sentence.

"That makes even less sense."

"I-I'm just tired."

"I get that." Saya replied, "Well on my leap year I've just mostly been working and hanging out with friend."

"Yeah. I'm going to start work tomorrow."

"That's cool." Saya said, "What have *you* been doing Damaru-chan?"

"M-me?" Damaru said and looked at Hakaku.

"O-oh, she?" Hakaku stuttered as he struggled to come up with a convincing lie. "She's here from the countryside and moved into the apartment next to me so we became friends and she's been mostly hanging out with me."

"Oh," Saya smiled, "That's cool."

Hakaku, Damaru and Saya continued to eat and talk about their lives, laughing at jokes and enjoying their food.

Then after about an hour and a half of eating and talking Saya's phone buzzed.

Saya then picked up the phone and began talking.

"Sorry guys," Saya began saying after she put the phone down, "but I've got to go to the market. My shift started an hour ago."

"Huh? You should have been working?" Hakaku asked surprised.

"Yeah. I forgot. Well, bye!" Saya said and ran off.

"Bye!" Hakaku and Damaru both said at the same time.

"Anyway," Hakaku began saying, "We can probably head to the bank. It's been around half an hour so by the time we'll be there it'll have been two hours."

"Then let's go!" Damaru replied as she ran off to the scooter which nobody else had yet rented.

Hakaku went up to the scooter stood in the front, activated it and began riding to the bank.

Not far from where they began riding Hakaku was zooming on the street when he hit a bump and flew off of the scooter into a bush on the side of the street, but luckily Damaru managed to jump off of the scooter before it crashed.

"Hakaku-kun are you all right?" Damaru ran up to Hakaku and asked.

Hakaku looked up bleeding from the nose and and a bruised forehead.

As soon as Hakaku heard Damaru call him "Hakaku-kun" he began blushing and bleeding from the other nose, because he had never heard her call him that.

"Wh-why are you blushing?" Damaru then asked as she herself began blushing.

"It's just... y-you called me "Hakaku-kun"..." Hakaku then replied continuing to blush.

"Does it mean something? I just heard Saya say it. Is it something rude?"

"N-No... It's fine..."

Damaru then leapt back and helped Hakaku get up.

After that awkward moment Hakaku went to a nearby public restroom and cleaned himself off, while Damaru waited by the scooter.

Damaru came back no longer bleeding, but with a still bruised forehead.

He then got on the scooter and both Hakaku and Damaru continued their trip to the bank.
