Chapter 3 - Deal

[Legacy- Grand Artificer's Inheritance]. Seeing this result Niko was surprised, he was expecting something completely different.

He knew of what an inheritance was since it was a common element in novels, but he had no idea what an Artificer was, but the name 'Grand Artificer' sounded really exciting.

"I'll collect it later since it seems to require a certain prerequisite." He checked through the description of the reward, and it was pretty straightforward.

[Grand Artificer's Inheritance: In all of creation, mankind are one of the few races that have gained the power of creativity; crafting tools with purpose and intent, whether to destroy the world or save it].

It sounded ominous, but he was extremely curious on what the inheritance was. [Host, the World Leaders are currently attending a meeting, addressing the problem that is you].

Nijo was unsurprised but still kept his sarcastic attitude up, "Me? A problem? No, at most I'm just an average troublemaker, but never a problem. You know what's a real problem? Cockroaches, nasty little critters."

If the System could, it would have rolled its eyes at him. [Host, I have hacked into their database and gained confidential information to use as blackmail]. This time Niko was absolutely mortified, he had no idea that the System had done this behind his back.

Scrolling down on his interface, he saw a

long list of top secret files that one usually couldn't access or encounter in their life, "What the?!— How'd you even get all this?! They're all on different sides of the planet for gods sake!"

"...", [Host, I feel like you're focusing on the wrong thing].

"Oh, don't you get all technical with me. What kind of System uses blackmail against World Leaders?" Niko ribbed his forehead in frustration, wondering if his System had a screw loose.

[Err, a World System?]. Hearing this response made him even more furious as he had no idea what a World System even was, "What is a World System anyways?!"

He gritted his teeth and asked while clenching his fist in anger, [A World System refers to a System that acts on a multiversal scale granting its host the ability to either destroy or create worlds].

Niko's eyes widened in surprised and rubbed his chin, "That- that makes a lot of sense actually." He nodded while recalling the strange tasks he was given at the start of this mission.

And with the hint that Systems used to be human like him through the punishment; he could safely assume that his System was likely a former sociopath and or a straight up murderer, and the upper management never erased their personality properly resulting in this.

He sighed, suddenly feeling not so safe about himself anymore, 'Great, I've got a sociopath in my mind and if I ever tell anyone that they'd throw me into a mental hospital. That or my psychologist will think I developed some sort of DID or schizophrenia due to a trauma or something.'

Niko opened his eyes and gazed down at his new loyal followers, kowtowing to him similar in those Chinese Webnovels he reads, because why not?

"Hm, it seems I need an official Apostle to carry out my will in this world, after all my task is to create a cul- I mean religion, so obviously I have to have a very loyal follower."

After some deliberation, he finally came to a conclusion, "System, if you can please help me trace down where the source of the collective Evolutions is."

He wanted to take advantage of the fact that the one with the highest potential out of everyone he connected to and transform them into the first Bishop that will spread his 'divine will.'

Of course the religion he was creating were based off of many different religions on Earth and he merely chose what suited his current situation.

Since he already established he hated wars, he would place down a rule for all his followers to never kill and show hostility to other humans.

Presumably if they never follow up with it, they shall experience divine punishment. But since he was not that cruel he would only give them a tough time if they show belligerence, but murder?

Their hands shall be stained with blood forever, literally, Niko had consulted the System and asked if he could mark sinners with a curse or something similar, they then confirmed it perfunctorily before commencing with their task.

[Traceback successful. Teleporting then to Host's current location. Would you like them to enter your Force Field?]. As expected of a supercomputer-like entity, it worked swiftly.

"It's alright, as long as he doesn't shoot me of course." Nijo was confident that he had already made everyone submit to him, it may be overconfident of him to do so, but he had the necessary power to be overconfident.

"Set another invisible Force Field in front of me just in case though." Despite his current attitude, he was still careful with his safety.

After all; you could never trust a stranger the first time you meet. Not a minute later a man in a dirtied uniform stood before him, bedazzled by the sight in front of him.

The other soldiers glanced up as well, noticing the new arrival. "Why hello there, you must be bewildered by why I had summoned you here."

A slight pause for dramatic effect, and a small glimpse at the expressions of the other soldiers. "What you are here for is due to your new destiny, and what your destiny had done to the others."

The man gazed at him in confusion and sternness, to him it was all a very mystifying and strange experience. "During the Bestowal you had awakened your latent power that resulted in a massive energy surge that indirectly caused the entire world to transform drastically, ensuing my attention."

The man closed both fists repeatedly, in wonder of how he- an average man be able to create such a magical phenomenon, "I did that? But what does that mean?" His voice cracked, unsure of what to say in this situation.

Niko smiled amiably, biding his time as he pretended to examine the man, which made him slightly uncomfortable. "From what I see in you, your power seems to be able grow rapidly, eventually becoming inexorable."

The man gazed down, wondering what his power was to be able to grow that strong, "What is it My Lord? What power have I obtained that grants me such strength?"

"A power that could become impossible to control. What is it?" This was his fervent wish, he thought that if he knew exactly what it was, he could prevent himself from using it too much.

In Niko's mind he thought, 'Gotcha.' He had already seen what his true power was, and was even envious of it since it broke the laws of reality itself.

Logic shall never affect this man, any and all impossible feats for normal humans shall eventually be possible for him. It was the ability to manipulate the probability of anything and everything and to succeed in a way favorable to him, not only that he was basically immortal!

So tricking him was out of the question as he wanted make good use of him, "Your ability controls Probability of anything. Any problems you may face shall be solved instantly if you so desire, troublesome situations can be resolved in matters of seconds and logic shall never apply to you as you are very likely to achieve any impossible feat. You are free from fate itself and shall never die because of it, unless of course you willed it to." What Niko spoke of was technically the truth, but hid a certain part.

The man could no longer be known as human, he was still able to bring forth offsprings, but they will always be strange as they had undeniable power and were very likely to be experimented on as they were not under his jurisdiction when young due to the followers must first be able to consent.

Anyone around him for a certain amount of time will experience their fate being broken off and freed becoming essentially immortal as well.

But he could never say that as the other soldiers might hear him and take advantage of it.

The man either had to hear it from him or figure it out himself, "So I'm no longer a human?"

Niko bit his lip, not expecting the question yet was not surprised by it, "Yes and no, you are still fundamentally a human, just a highly evolved one. In fact as of now your genes may have been altered and you could may as well be able to will a tail to grow." He laughed it off, but unfortunately it wasn't a joke.

From what he learned from the System, those that underwent Evolution could also gain a few mutations that altered their forms, but mostly it was changeable at will.

"I'm being serious though. You might all want to consult me later about any hidden mutations."

Seeing this the soldiers began feeling self conscious about their current appearance. "Anyways, I have a proposal for you."

He turned to the soldier before him and extended a hand, "Please become my Apostle."
