Gracie's house was surrounded by water which usually solidify in ice river during winter and Grandma Lily was always watchful of her flower especially during the winter, like her watering the the flower every minute to avoid it becoming limp, lifeless, black and distorted.
Friday night, the heavy rain had destroyed all Grandma Lily's flowers including her precious orchids and tulips that she cherished.
Unfortunately, Uncle Evans didn't have flower for sale, meaning she would have to go to the downtown to get them but Gracie had offered to go instead, just to save her from the hassle.
And for the first time in a long time, she wore some pair of tight-ass jean and the black sweater her grandma knitted for her early in the year when she clocked seventeen with her favorite sneakers. She was in a bright mood and it therefore lighten up wherever she stopped or stayed.
