Chapter 15 - Something like Love

Rory was a man. and therefore not nearly as anxious as Aspen was to go on their date. He knew he was handsome, and truth be told Rory was a little cocky.

While Aspen had fiddled with her hair countless times, tried to think of innumerable situations (as most females do), and tried to look her best. She paced eagerly back and forth in her room half listening to hums and haws of Bill trying to hatch their escape plan. She definitely couldn't afford for the date to go sour. Too much was at stake! Not just hers but her best friends and Bills life hung in the balance landing squarely on her shoulders.

It was undoubtedly a heavy burden. However, her thoughts constantly roamed to Rory. What was he like, did he smell good, would they mesh. Never mind the situation! She worried his deadly good looks had left her speechless in the past. She would've brushed him off as another handsome man too pretty to pay attention to her, but he was! She couldn't shake the happiness and lightness she felt in her heart elated that he took an interest in her. So when Rory showed up promptly that evening for their "discussion", she was once again shocked by his all around beauty.

"Hello again Aspen" he said staring at her with his piercing golden eyes. He assessed her petite figure. His mind roaming wondering what she looked like wrapped up in nothing but one of his sheets.

Aspen could only meekly squeak out a "Hi".

"So quiet..." he began approaching her "I wonder how I can hear such important questions when I can barely hear your words." Aspen out of habit backed away as Rory approached. Her back slammed against a wall but Rory continued to approach her. He trapped her by extending his long arm above her head resting on the wall the other placed on the wall at her other side. All Aspen could do was stare up into those burning eyes. Her mouth watered and her heart pound into her ears. This man clearly knew he had her attention. He leaned in closer to her his mouth stopping short of her mouth.

"Should we continue are conversation here in your room, in hushed tones?" he asked his breathe on her face was intoxicating and it took everything in Aspens power to clear her head for a response. Luckily both she and he had completely ignored the audience in the room and it was at this moment Xóchitl cleared her throat.

"Well I guess we'll be leaving." said xóchitl from the side trying to make meaningful eye contact with Aspen. It was to no avail, Aspen was locked in Rory's gaze. It was only after an uncomfortable amount of time passed did Rory's gaze slowly break away from Aspens to look at Xóchitl. Annoyed xóchitl turned to look at Aspen. Aspen gave her a glance of disparity

"Your fine" she mouthed silently she turned her gaze to Rory "A lady can tell when she should leave the room" she said as Rory had given her a look of annoyance. Bill cleared his throat and held out his hand for Xóchitl to grab ahold of. Xochi took a hold of his hand and he tucked it firmly in the bend of his arm as he escorted her from the room.

"Bill is never this quiet." commented Rory as he watched the duo leave Aspen's room. Aspen hummed a response of agreement not wanting Rory to be tipped off to their plan by this sudden change.

"He sees as little girls I think" Aspen said as she tore her glance away from the God before her to watch the two round the corner out of view. This displeased Rory. He liked Aspens eyes on him and he couldn't bear for her eyes to no longer not be looking at his. So he grabbed the bottom of her chin and turned it ever so gently so the her eyes had no choice but to lock themselves back into his.

"Shall we go then?" he asked patiently a gentle smile warming his face. Aspen agreed and to her dismay Rory grabbed her hand and pulled her from the room. Aspen was shrouded in what felt like warmth and light she couldn't help but wonder if this is something like love. She couldn't help but feel contentment in her heart like she had at last found the other part of her that was missing, unbeknownst to her before. She wasn't aware there was a large hole in her heart was missing but when Rory grabbed her hand she felt completely complete. Rory to had a similar sense fall over him but he wouldn't openly admit it to anyone.

Excitement filled Aspen as Rory escorted her out the enormous entrance that she resided in with the other captives. He pulled her through a series of twist and turns not saying much. They finally ended at a large entrance to a dimly lit room. "My room" he stated clearly when Aspen stared at him questioning you.

Her countenance of excitement turned abruptly to one of embarrassment. Did he really think he was going to sleep with her right away. How shameless he was she thought. She began to back away but her hand was being held captive by Rory's hand. "Don't worry. Unfortunately this is the only place where we won't have an audience." he said reassuringly. Aspen stopped backing away and looked into Rory's eyes. "Trust me" was all he could say as Aspen looked a little fearful but she agreed nonetheless, and entered his room. A small diner table had been set up to the side. It's tabletop included a variety of what looked like cheese, nuts, summer sausage, wine and crackers. Aspen salivated at the thought of enjoying the spread. Never mind the God like man, Aspen was a foodie at heart. The food looked tantalizing to say the least.

"Aspen" Rory called Aspen. She only hummed a response which didn't do at all. Her hand still rested in his hand and the thought the food took precedence over him annoyed Rory to no end. Annoyed he one again grabbed the bottom of her chin forcing her to look him in the eyes once again. "Right here beautiful." he whispered her body shivering as he caressed her back slowly and light with his unheld hand. "You are truly a beautiful woman." Aspen turned a bright red hue in response. This response was so adorable that Rory reacted with his body. He bent down and brushed his lips against hers. To his dismay Aspen parted her lips willingly and openly. He leaned down and wrapped his arms around her in a warm embrace and kissed her deeply.
