Xochitl sat mindlessly twirling her hair in anticipation of waiting for Aspen. There was not much more to do other than sit in the room and wait patiently for good news. Either that or listen to Bill prattle on and on about a plan that seemed fruitless to plan for. As of this moment they needed the initial step to even try to move to a second stage in the infamous escape. So in Xochi's eyes it was trifling to plan for a future that was heavily reliant on the current situation.
She stared aimlessly between the stalls that lined the enormous room and it was apparent that the other residents kept to themselves as well. Almost as if they had conceded to their own fate. She considered things from their perspective.
The glimmer of hope of escape became ever more raging of fire of need. She could not be like the other inhabitants. She would never stop seeking the place she called home. She promised herself that every step she would take ever homeward bound.
To her surprise it was at this very moment that another resident in the large theatre shaped room had sauntered over to her.
"My name is Kitty." said the resident. Xochitl assessed her new neighbor. Kitty was a woman of lean stature. Xochitl guessed her to be in her late twenties. Like a young woman whose round cheeks of youth had sunken in to show a divine high cheek bone and a devastating jaw line. Her hair was of silken honey and her eyes could only be described as a ice blue for only ice could reflect that brilliant light blue. Her skin was of the most delicate nature almost the color of snow. Her way of walking was almost like that of sauntering model slyly move with great hip action from one end of the room to the other. Her lips of pale pink cherry blossoms and petite in every way.
"Err....Hello?" replied Xochitl a little unnerved by the sheer beauty of this human being before. Xochitl briefly took an assessment of her own body, Kitty continued to stare at Xochitl before clearing her throat.
"So what's your name?" Kitty finally asked a little impatient.
"Xochitl" Xochi quickly spit out. She immediately blushed at the lack of her response. Which in turn caused her to turn brighter as she was embarrassed to be embarrassed.
"I came from the verse prior to yours. The human that came with you what is his name?'
"Now don't go asking Sofi my name. You can just ask me ma'am. My name is Bill." Bill's voice rang from behind Xochitl somewhere unseen to either of the women."
"We do not have his kind of human on my planet."
"What big hairy ones?" replied an Annoyed Xochitl as she glanced around looking for the man who had taken a liking to calling her everything that ended with an E sound except her actual name.
"No..... I mean we are the only type of human there." replied Kitty gesturing to herself and then to Xochitl. Xochi pondered for a moment over what Kitty meant, before realization struck her. A small smile crept up her face and she her cheeks once again bloomed with redness.
"You mean women?" she asked incredulously. Kitty nodded her head. Although Kitty didn't grasp that the other human she was referring to was a male she knew internally the Xochitl had guessed correctly.
"How do you make babies?" Xochitl pondered out loud. This was more or less to herself but Kitty replied all the same.
"We are blessed by the maker"
"Wait so your telling me that your deity comes down from wherever and bestows you his seed?" Xochitl's eyebrows just about touched her hairline from surprise.
However, Kitty was equally confused. "You grow babies in the ground?" she asked a little a taken back herself. This caused Xochitl to burst out into laughter. The thought of tiny little babies sprouting from the ground was a hilarious picture in her head.
"No, we grow them in our tummies. It just takes a man and a woman to have intercourse to produce a baby."
"You have intercourse to have a baby!!! How ridiculous we only use it for pleasure and to convey love and affection. That completely makes having intercourse dull. What a chore it must be for you to interact with this subpar human. With their long facial hair. Their faces seem a little deformed are they normally as hairy as the one that came with you?" questioned Kitty. Her brow deep in thought.
"Well no.....to a lot of that. We do use procreation for pleasure and love and affection. And we use it create life too. It can be quite pleasurable. And not all men look like that he's just old" replied Xochitl
"I am not!" shouted Bill from some distance before Xochitl started firing off her own questions.. "How do you create a baby there?" Where ever there was she thought in her head. "What is your world like? I mean maybe not your world but your home. Do you have two moms or just one? Have you met your creator?"
"I will give you answers and you will give me answers." replied Kitty "And then you will take me when you escape this vessel and go home." replied Kitty.
"Fine" replied Xochitl "But first tell me some answers."
"No one on my planet has ever met the maker. We women go to the highest peaks of our mountains and kneel on a pedestal for many days and many nights. If the maker is pleased with your endurance, she will bless a woman with a mighty light that beams down from the sky above. This light is called the light of creation. No one knows where the source of this light comes from. There are many religions that speculate but no one knows for sure. This light is not only for humans but all animals alike. It is a spectacular thing to watch. Only the strongest of women are chosen as birth is quite painful. Then we too carry our babies in our stomach for the duration of a year.
"Wow! That would be amazing to see. I still have so much to ask?" Xochitl bounced excitedly.
"And I for you." replied Kitty enjoying the childlike behavior.
