The four people advanced at a steady pace in unison. Facing a perplexing amount of pressure with each step the three humans started to stop in their tracks.
"What is this?" Bill asked as he tilted his head in a perplexing way. "It feels like I'm at the top of mountain I can scarcely breathe."
"It's the vortex we use... it's complicated, I can explain it later. Keep moving or your insides will be blended into a soup." Not hesitating any further the three followed Rory's warning and followed at a quick pace. It wasn't to long till they felt the depression of air decrease to it's normal status. It was then that the trio noticed objects appearing like sketches around them the objects first in a flat basic shape before turning into a normal dimensional object, sort of like watching popcorn kernels being popped into the fluffy popcorn. Rory stopped and turned around the objects that surrounded them slowly became three dimensional and the the room fading into one of dark neutral colors, shadows beginning to cast themselves in dark corners. He studied each of the individuals as they studied their surroundings. Xochitl stared around her in amazement her head swiveling back and forth trying to observe the individual objects turn to their three dimensional selves. Bill stared at the floor as if bored of the charade already and calculating his next move. Finally he observed the beautiful Aspen. She had pushed one of her dark hairs behind her ear. He couldn't help but wish that he was the one to push the hair aside. He wished his hand was the one to caress her cheek. Although she looked plain at first sight Rory had begun to notice the light freckles that adorned her face. Her eyes were a true brown but upon further examination he notice the outskirts of her eyes had mingling flecks of green and gold. She pursed her full lips and he couldn't help but wonder what her soft lips tasted like. Her features where soft and her curves supple almost like an godly creature. Bill cleared his throat and Rory was lifted from his daydreaming. He noticed that Aspen had blushed noticing him who had noticed her. She herself couldn't deny that he was a handsome man. His features where defined and his shoulders even though they were hidden beneath a broad coat where easily defined to the eye. Aspen had a hard time ignoring his handsome features and often caught herself wishing she could just kiss him once. Bill once again cleared his throat. It didn't go unnoticed to him the little exchange of stares. He couldn't help his fatherly instinct to kick in. His son Clint would suit either girl far better than this space idiot. Rory's eyes rolled to Bill a visible annoyance on his face.
"Yes" Rory drawled out the word. His stare deepening.
"Can you tell us why we are here?" Bill was quick to point out the obvious.
"Okay, you deserve an explanation. I lied you are never going to go home." Rory was quick and to the point. Xochitl's voice cracked in a quite cry, and a frozen shocked expression crossed Aspen's face.
"I figured as much, still doesn't explain why we are here." Bill looked directly at Rory waiting patiently for an answer.
"Will the truth make this any easier." Rory asked tilting his head, again he examined the individuals gauging their responses. To his surprise Xochitl recovered rather quickly. Her eyes looking expectant. Aspen on the other hand looked hesitant but shook her head none the less.
"I think that's why I'm asking." Bill stated
"I think a little education first. Follow me." Rory walked forward, leading the group through a series of halls that twisted and turned at odd angles. He led them to a great hall that ceiling was a window to the sky above them. The great hall had lights that floated like light balls of yellow light. The walls were high and the general shape of the room was an obtuse looking circle. The wall revealed individual cell like rooms, each colored a different color of the rainbow at first sight but when one looked closer it appeared like the walls within the cells pulsated to each color over time rather than settling on a single color. To the trios surprise other humans were in some of the cells. The wide ceiling held an infinite amount of space and stars. The were in space, and it awed the trio. Having never been a possibility before. The space was tainted with dark black and star after star glimmered ever brightly unobstructed by the atmosphere and clouds. It was a spectacular sight. to their amazement a large dark asteroid began to obstruct the view of the sky. It was captivating to watch the ships ever changing light shine on the surface of the asteroid that appeared dark and sinister. The ship navigated easily away and around the asteroid at an amazing speed. Zipping far away as if it were a fly avoiding collision with prestige. A robot of sorts appeared next to the four people out of nowhere it appeared rusted a little. Its shape was one of round magnet looking parts. "This is Bartel-B she can explain a little of what is going to happen and why you are here." Rory said. Aspen studied the the robot while Xochitl studied the people around them. Bill was still spectating the sky assessing his situation. "Ask Bartel-B anything you want to know. she is filled with knowledge and she can explain things a little more in depth. Be forewarned Bartel-B is armed so any infraction of violence or just general discord will result in an immediate termination of your life. you will be warned so many times. Also Bartel-B sends live feed to the upper deck so any mischievous behavior will be informed to us immediately. This is where you will be staying. Choose a room, any room." Rory said. "Consider yourselves incarcerated by my company and myself. However, there is no need to be hostile. You see your future lays directly in my hands." Rory looked among them with serious eyes. The trio turned around just in time to see the entrance of the doorway shut.
