It was now Thursday. I was treating today as a day off for me. It's not like I have been working, but I've been busy. From my stupid parent's actions, to Jessica, and camp I have had no time to myself while I am in my own house. I got a chance now since things finally cooled off a little. I'm not going anywhere today. I'm just going to be in my house, in my room for the whole day.
There was also another reason why I needed a day off. I was seriously behind in my anime shows. I've been doing everything except watching that. I am a month and a half behind.
It was twelve in the afternoon. I had to read seven magna books of bleach, seven magna books of Naruto, eight episodes of Bleach, seven episodes of Naruto (well eight because a new episode came out today), and seven episodes of Fairy Tail. I might not finish it today, but I was not worrying about that.
I went downstairs and made a sandwich. Of course there were going to be breaks for food and bathroom. The only real problem was that I hoped my laptop did not burn out or something.
I got a drink and went back upstairs. I turned on my laptop. Time for the day to really get started.
Soon three hours passed. I was actually doing well on time. I was able to read all 14, 22 paged magna of Bleach and Naruto in a good forty minutes. The other two hours and twenty minutes I managed to bang out six episodes of Bleach. That is good timing since the episodes are twenty four minutes long. After the intro and the end it is more like twenty minutes. Now it was three and I still had two more episodes of Bleach, eight episodes of Naruto and seven episodes of Fairy Tail. I may actually be able to watch all of them if the time is right. I went to the bathroom, came back and got started on the next episode.
I was half way through the seventh episode of Bleach. Then I heard knocking on my door. Someone was in the house because I heard the constant sound of the stairs. This was the first time someone bothered me today. Well it can't be dad because he is at work. So who is it?
"You may enter." I yelled.
The door opened and Jessica was standing in the entrance. That was the last person I expected to knock on my door. I thought it was Mom. Or even Dashaun. Just not her though.
"Hi, Ray." she said. That was the nicest way she ever spoke to me.
"Hey." I said while looking at her, but still trying to focus on the laptop.
"Um, what are you watching?" she asked.
"Bleach."
"What episode?"
"Let me see." I exited out and checked for the number. "Episode 260."
"Oh." Then she closed my door and I heard her walk to her room.
What was that about? That was a little weird. Maybe she wanted to start a conversation. At least I found out one thing from that little conversation. She did not hate me any more. That made me feel kinda good. I went back to my show, but thinking.
Ten minutes passed and the episode ended. Time for the last episode to be all caught up. I started it up.
A moment later before the intro really began I heard a knock on my door. It was the same knock as last time. I knew it was Jessica. No doubt about it. The question was what did she want this time?
"Yes?" I said.
The door opened and once again Jessica stood there.
"Um... I missed episode 261 because of…well you know. I had to move and adjust to the new place and I had no time to watch it. May I watch it with you?" she asked. She seemed nervous. She was looking around and holding her hands very tightly.
Of course this was really unexpected. I knew she did not hate me any more, but she wants to do something with me?
"Um, No." I said. She looked shocked. I was joking. She did not expect that answer though.
"Gotcha." I laughed. "Sure you can."
"Oh." she responded. She did not laugh. She actually looked a little upset. Maybe not the right joke to make after you just made a little breakthrough.
It became clear what her intention was the first time she came to my room. She knew what I was watching and wanted to watch then. She was nervous though and was not sure so she left. I wonder what made her change her mind and come back to ask.
She stepped in then stopped. She looked confused. She ran out and went downstairs. What is wrong with this girl?
A moment later I heard the stairs again. It was Jessica, but it sounded like she was carrying something. When she entered my room for the third time ever I saw what she was carrying. It was a chair. She placed that down and sat. I turned the laptop to where she could see it and situated myself.
"Are you ready? You comfortable?" I asked.
"Yes." she answered. She still was clasping her hands together. What does she think I'm going to do to her?
I started the episode. "Um, do you mind if I skip the intro?" I asked her. I did not want to get off track.
"Oh. Yea, sure." She said. And with that I started the video.
After twenty minutes the video was over. We watched it in complete silence. No one said a word for the whole time. We watched the episode and that was all. She started to get up and leave my room.
"Hey Jessica, do you want to watch these eight episodes of Naruto with me?" I did not expect her to say yes. It was meant to be a nice gesture. Plus it was not that bad watching this with someone. Actually this was the first time I watched this stuff with someone.
Jessica started to smile. It was actually a legitimate smile on her face. "You watch Naruto too?" she shouted.
"Yes. It is actually my favorite anime." I told her.
"Mines too! It is so awesome!" who would have thought she could get this excited.
"I know." I had switched to the other website for Naruto and started to search for the episode.
Who is your favorite ninja?" she asked.
I thought about it for a second. "Gaara." I said.
"My favorite ninja is Tsunade."
"Typical girl, but it is cool. Too bad Gaara would beat her."
"What was that? Diedara?" she laughed.
"Oh we are going to bring that up. Everyone who comes in contact with that lady dies."
"Those were just coincidences."
"Once or twice is a coincidence. Three times means she got a problem."
I could tell already watching Naruto was going to be fun. She seemed to be really into it. I was going to be into it. I started the episode of Naruto.
We watched five episodes in an hour and forty minutes. It was great too. There were conversations and laughter. We sometimes went into discussions about the episode being watched or even past episodes. Sometimes those discussions turned into arguments. It wasn't angry, but fun arguments. Arguments like who's better then who and things like that. I was just glad I had someone to talk to about this. It was good to have an opposing opinion on some things. She knew what she was talking about too. It is funny how we had the same favorite show.
Jessica got up and stretched. Then she said she had to go to the bathroom. I laid on my bed and got the next episode set up. She came back a couple minutes later.
"You started it?" she asked coming back into the room. She sat back down in the chair.
"I'm starting it right now. You seem uncomfortable. Do you want to lie next to me?" I asked.
"I don't know. I'm fine." she said.
I asked her because I was actually comfortable while I was lying down. I started to turn the laptop back to its original position, but she stopped me.
"You know what, sure. Why not." She got up out of the chair and moved the bed. She was hesitant at first, but she finally lied next to me. When she did we touched for a couple of seconds and then she moved over a bit. I could tell her skin was very soft and smooth. Then again maybe it was because I wanted it to be. I looked at her. She really was beautiful. She was wearing short shorts and a pink tank top. It fit her style.
"Are you ready?" she asked.
"Oh. Um, yeah yeah" I said coming from my day dream. I started the rest of the episodes.
We basically did the same thing while watching the rest of the episodes. It was just awesome. Sadly we finished the last episode. I looked at the clock. It was 6:00. My laptop has been on for six hours. I had it on for longer before, but it was a good time to take a break. I also thought dinner was ready from the way my room smelled like burgers.
"Well that was a fun mini marathon." I said.
"Yes it was. Especially episode 285. That was cool." she said.
"I couldn't agree more with you. I was waiting for him to do that jutsu." I said.
"I know right. So cool."
Then there was a pause in the talking. I noticed that she still had some of her accent. It wasn't much, but it was heard in some of the words she said. It was kind of cute. Like most of the things about her.
"So, are you really into this anime stuff or do you just watch these shows?" she asked me.
"Yea these are my favorite shows, but I watched a lot of anime series. I love them." I told her.
"Do you understand any of it?"
"Well yes. There are subtitles."
"I mean without it."
"Not at all. A couple words here and there." She should know that. "How about you? Do you use the subtitles or watch it without reading?"
"I read subtitles. I know what they are saying as well. The subtitles are sometimes wrong though. It is hard to translate the Japanese however so I read them."
"Oh. You think you could teach me?"
"How to read?" she smiled.
"Japanese." I said as I rolled my eyes.
"I don't know, maybe. What else do you watch?"
"Well off the top of my head there is Clannad, Gungrave, and uh…Shuffle was pretty good." I told her.
"So you are into romance and harems, huh?" she said with an even bigger smile. Harems usually contained nudity in them. It's like soft-core hentai or something.
"Well they are entertaining. I like action mostly, but sometimes I need a break from the nonstop action. When I do that I watch comedy or romance anime. They are good."
"Ah, so you do watch harems. Like those big breast anime girls?" now she was laughing.
"Well that's the majority of anime, but no. I am not a pervert."
"You don't have to lie. You enjoy that and all the nudity." She is having a good time with this.
"No, but believe what you want." I was embarrassed.
"Don't get mad, Ray. I'm only teasing." she was still laughing. "So" She stopped laughing now. "Do you like mine?"
"Like what?" I asked.
"My breast?"
"What?!" I was confused. Did I really hear her correctly?
"Do you like my breast?" she asked again.
Yep I heard her just fine. What the hell does she want me to say to that? She flipped over on her back. She was giving me a better work. I tried not to look right at her breast to the point she noticed. I looked out the corner of my eye however while looking into her eyes. Then I saw where her hands where. She was gripping the bottom of her shirt. She started to pull it up slowly.
"You need a look?" she asked. She pulled the shirt up more. The shirt was at her belly button. I thought she was shy earlier? What the hell is even happening?!
"Dinner!" my mom yelled. "And bring the chair down, Ray!"
I was still looking at Jessica. She smiled then rolled off the bed.
"Oh Dinner time!" she said. Then she ran out of the room and down the stairs.
What just happened? I was still sitting on the bed shocked. I was probably blushing. Good thing I did not get a…never mind. That was crazy. She is crazy. Did that actually just happen? I'm pretty sure it did. What if mom didn't call us? All I know was that my heart was pounding. What the hell was Jessica doing?
"Ray dinner!" Jessica yelled upstairs. That snapped me out of it. Maybe it is best I don't think about it that much. That was going to be hard to do. I turned my laptop completely off and went downstairs for what was going to be an awkward dinner.
Cheeseburgers and tater tots were on the table for dinner. When I came down mom, dad, and Jessica was already seated. I did not even know my dad was here. He was changed and everything.
"Hey Ray. I haven't seen you all day." He said
"Well you were at work." I said while sitting. I was across from Jessica like always. I wanted as little eye contact as possible while still not making it awkward or obvious that something happened.
"So how was your day?" he asked me.
"Him and Jessica were watching pictures together all day." my mom said.
"Yea it was fun." Jessica said. "Right, Ray?" She looked at me smiling.
"Uh yea. Some great shows. Fun watching it with someone else." I said and looked at her. Of course she was not going to bring up what happened after. I was still thinking about why she even did it.
"Glad you two are getting along." My dad said.
"He was just nervous." Jessica said to my dad. My dad looked at me with a smirk. It was an 'I told you so' look.
The rest of dinner was fine. I did not say much though. My dad talked to my mom and Jessica. That was about it. I sat quietly and ate. Soon everyone finished dinner.
"That was great." Jessica said.
"Glad you liked it." my mom replied.
"I'll clean the plates" dad inputted. "Leave them there."
"Thank you." Jessica said. Then she got up and left for the living room. I followed her. I wanted to ask her something.
"Hey Jessica." I called.
"Yes?" she said.
"Um you want to watch Fairy Tail with me?" I asked because it was fun with her. Plus it seemed that the situation was bothering nobody. I was not letting it get to me surprisingly.
"You watch that?" she asked.
"Yes." I responded.
"Cool, me too." She paused. "I think I'll stay down here and watch some T.V. Next time?"
"Sure. Of course."
I went back upstairs. Truth is I didn't know how high the awkward level was going to be with us alone again. Maybe it was best she said no.
I turned my laptop back on. It loaded and I put it on the website for Fairy Tail. I thought about waiting until tomorrow because that's when a new episode is posted, but that was at ten o'clock at night and I was probably going to bother Dashaun tomorrow. Today was fine.
I started the episode. Then I got a thought I did not get before.
The time Jessica and I spent together…was that a date? I mean we were still in the house and everything. Still was it a date? A first date? It had a date feel about it. We were laughing and talking and stuff. I did not know.
I was surprised my mom did not bother us. She was probably happy to see us getting along.
That was the second thought I had. That was not the problem I was worried about at the moment. The thing was that we did spend time together alone. So was it a date?
Then another thought came into my head. Did I ask her on another date downstairs? It didn't feel like it. Now that I think about it I'm not sure. Right now I'm confusing myself.
Five minutes already passed in Fairy Tail. I forgot all about it. I started it over. I can't think about this now. I really didn't know. It doesn't even matter because I don't know how Jessica felt about it. So a thought of it being a date was stupid. I began to watch the video.
Still I couldn't help, but wonder if it was.
