Lucas killed the engine a few houses away from my driveway.
"Grace doesn't know you were at my place. She thinks you stayed at Cee's, act accordingly." He said.
I nodded. "I know. Thanks for the ride back." I said and was beginning to leave.
"Katherine." I heard him say and so I stopped. He had my amulet and the obsidian bracelet in his hand.
"When did you---" He cut me off.
"I thought you would sleep comfortably without these." He said and handed them to me.
"Oh--- thanks." I said, stuffing both of them in my pocket.
"I'll see you tomorrow." I said as I stepped outside.
"Goodbye Katherine." He said and then drove away. His car raced through the streets like a black flurry and disappeared soon after a turn.
