Chapter 11
Sometimes, I think about a free world. Where no poverty prevails, where children are protected, women and elderly folk are, and where we would not have to attend so many funerals.
This funeral, however, was the worst.
I've been to many. The people being buried, however, were not my family members; they were friends, neighbours, and far relatives. Don't get me wrong, it pained me but not like this.
"Where's Adam?"
"He`s stuck in some traffic," Daniyaal said, opening an umbrella, "He`ll be here soon."
I nodded. It was 18 degrees outside, and it was pouring. Rain is a good sign; it means that our Lord's mercy has been bestowed upon her. I felt so weak, so helpless, even if I so badly wanted to avenge her. I did not have the means to.
I wish I was stronger, less of a coward.
