"Yawn." I yawned, as I looked outside the carriage.
I was excited at the thought of us resting for a week straight; I mean after the shit we had go through last week – especially our last quest – I got exhausted – mentally, as physical exhaustion was impossible due to Emma. Yesterday; we had planned for about 30 minutes straight, and had decided that we will be going to an expensive hot spring – I mean insanely expensive.
It was soo expensive that low-ranking nobles would dream to just be near the place.
Osiric had said that he would relax for a while; we also knew yesterday that, Osiric had just finished his 10 years of training before coming to the capital. That thought made us even sadder, we had just asked a guy – who just finished the training, which he had dubbed 'actual hell' – and made him work his ass for about a week straight, just after he finished that.
We also had chosen to use an expensive carriage. The carriage was less of a carriage, more of a bullet train. The thing ran could at about 300 km/h for a week straight; it was also somehow only pulled by an intermediate class horse, the Draconic Horse.
Emma and I had asked him how fast would the carriage move if it was pulled by an advanced class; he said it would be about 20 times faster and will run for 5 months straight – food and water won't be a problem as an advanced class, or E-rankers, don't need food and water, heck they would survive without air.
I saw the cities walls become smaller and smaller, I noted that I had somehow got a little attached to it – probably because in the last week, just seeing it made us feel relieved because we made it in time; especially after we had just risked our lives for the quests. I looked at Osiric; he looked dead inside.
I gave him a wry smile as I said to Emma, "We have gotten attached to this city, right?"
"Yeah, I actually would miss it a little." Emma, like Osiric, looked a little dead, "I regret even saying that."
The atmosphere got a little awkward, I made a mental note that I shouldn't think Emma has the same mental strength as me. I mean I would've have looked the same if I had the same mental endurance as her.
I had also found out last week that, Osiric is also like us; he almost has the same personality as us. It was pretty weird, but wasn't weird as sharing the same personality traits with Emma.
"So, what are you going to do when we reach Shikazan?" I asked them, I needed to change the atmosphere; especially since it would make me feel bad about myself if I don't – since I could do it.
"I want to go hot spring immediately." they answered, the gloomy atmosphere was getting a little brighter as they thought about relaxing.
I knew it would get them a little happier, since I too got excited when thinking about the relaxation I could experience in that hot spring.
"What do you want to do first in the hot spring?" Emma asked us, a little smile on her face.
"I want to go to the hot spring and wash out my stress." Osiric answered, grinning as he thought about it.
"Personally, I want to go to the 'Fiber Massage.'" I replied.
Fiber massage was something new I had just learned last week – also the messages in this world will actually harm you since most people can immediately go to a healer and heal themselves pretty cheaply – it revolved around relaxing your individual muscle fiber, it also made them a lot stronger.
A guy had said that he gained +3 in his strength stats, which just meant it he got an increase of 30N or 30 kg. Though, it would only work once; after that, your body will handle it pretty well and won't get a strength increase.
I didn't want to do it for the increase in my stats, it was because that guy had also said that it felt good, very good. I said him to try his best to describe the experience, he had said that it felt like his body was remade and his muscles felt a lot stronger; it's as a massive load was lifted from his body.
I got curious and wanted to go there first.
"As for me, I really want to go to the sauna." Emma responded, giggling as she thought about the sauna.
Emma had always loved saunas, so it wasn't much of a surprise to see her want to go their first.
"Wait, isn't the sauna there magical?" I asked her, "Yeah, that's also the reason I want to try it out." Emma replied.
"Hey Tyler, do you remember our first subjugation quests?" Osiric asked me.
"Yeah, it was so fun." I answered, smiling at that memory.
The first subjugation quest we had taken were killing slimes; we traveled to the forest. We walked the entire way; it took us about 20 minutes to reach there. The slimes were pretty easy to find due to Osiric sensing them out.
Emma learned multi-cast, magic control, and magic power boost (middle) - which quickly turned to greater - at that quest. She had thrown out 2 holy arrows at that time; they were pretty strong – but were weaker than my fire arrows.
We quickly finished the quest, it was very chill - though we couldn't get lots of levels. We then slowly walked to the guild, talking about it; Osiric had even given us some advice about controlling our mana. Thinking about that; I again realized how crazy our schedule was for the last week.
After that, Emma convinced us to stack multiple quests – we were also crazy and had agreed – we didn't get to experience quests like that for the entirety of our adventuring career.
"I know right, let's do chill quests like that after we come back." Osiric replied, he was smiling; reminiscing about the first and the only normal subjugation quest he, no, we had done.
Emma and I looked at each other and agreed with him; we didn't want to go through that hell ever again.
We then started to talk about some trivial things. It was fun to talk together; Osiric also shared some of his stories, like how his teacher had powdered his bones by just touching him and tore his muscles so that he would be stronger – we could only give him a wry smile after hearing that.
And that's how we went to the hot spring.
