Chapter 17 - CHAPTER SIXTEEN

It took us 30minutes to get to Cindy's house. Did I just call it a house? She lived in a fu*cking mansion!

It was very beautiful. It had a pool in the middle of the big compound. Plants were used to design the house aesthetically.

It felt like I was surrounded by nature, the water and the plants just made the house so beautiful.

Cindy greeted us with a hug, and I almost cringed when she hugged me because I haven't forgotten the details of last night's dream.

Her parents lived in the other part of the mansion, it was as if they lived in a different house entirely. Cindy was the only one that lived in this part of the mansion.

She had a very spacious living room, which is literally the size of my whole apartment. She had two bedrooms. A kitchen. A bathroom in each of the bedroom. She had a mini home cinema, where according to Daisy, we would be watching a movie tonight. She also had a mini bar.

I was still checking the mansion, I wanted to explore the whole place because I know they are more things that I haven't seen but then heard Daisy's voice.

"It's a beautiful place right? I've only been here once. It was when she had her 20th birthday party. If I could recall clearly, you decided not to attend the party by feigning sickness."

Typical me, it's no surprise I did that.

*****************

Cindy was chasing after me, I was running but wasn't running fast enough. I saw Milo standing in front of me laughing evilly. I turned back to run the other way but fell into a pit.

At first I was relieved that I had somehow escaped from those two, until I felt a tingling sensation. I was in a pit full of maggots of different shapes and sizes. They were on all parts of my body now. I tried climbing out of the pit but figured I was stuck in here.

The maggots found their ways into my ears, nose and eyes. I kept my mouth tightly shut but I eventually had to open it to scream for help. Taking advantage of my scream, the maggots entered into my mouth. I could feel them moving about inside my body.

They were in my skin trying to find their ways around my body. They were now moving about in my coochie. How disgusting could this get? But why was I kind of turned on by their movement between my legs? Not now Lily! This is the end for you.

I felt them moving about in my stomach. I had the sudden urge to vomit, and couldn't stop myself from puking my guts out. The vomit was full of maggots, they were covered in blood. They were definitely covered in my blood.

Just as I thought things couldn't get any worse, two vultures jumped into the pit from nowhere and started pecking on my skin with their beaks. I thought vultures only ate dead animals. Was I dead? Was that why I had a vulture and maggots feeding on me?

I started shaking vigorously, somebody was trying to wake me up. I opened my eyes, thankful for whoever it was. Daisy was staring down at me with worry in her eyes. I sat up in the couch wiping off the tears I noticed were streaming down my cheeks and trying to avoid eye contact with Daisy.

We all fell asleep while watching a movie, The Silence. It might be what triggered me to dream about vultures. But I thought those creatures in the movie looked like bats, blind bats and not vultures.

Cindy was sprawled out at the other end of the couch. Daisy was sitting on the floor with her head laying on the couch. That was the last position I saw her in before I slept off. But now she was sitting with her legs crossed, waiting for me to say something.

"What the hell were you dreaming about that had you turning and tossing that way?" she asked in a small voice when she noticed I wasn't going to be the one to talk anytime soon. I checked for time in the clock hanging on the wall, and it was 3:00am.

"I woke up because I was thirsty, but found you moving and crying in your sleep so I decided to wake you up." she explained when I still didn't say a word.

I needed a glass of water now that she mentioned it. I stood of from the couch, walked out of the home cinema and into the kitchen. I was sure Daisy was just behind me, so I poured myself a glass of water and gulped it down.

I sat in one of the stools in the kitchen and Daisy took the other sit across me.

I guess this was the time to finally tell her everything.

"It all started when I started dreaming of weird creatures in a weird forest, this weird creatures involves a man, a man who looks exactly like my boss's son, Milo. And then a lady who looks exactly like Cindy" I confessed all in one breath.

"What is this you are saying Lily? I don't understand, are you okay?"

That was all it took to confess to her, no little detail was left out. I told her everything. It felt so nice to finally voice out my feelings to another person that was not me. As I told the story bit by bit, Daisy was staring back at me with the most serious expression I've ever seen on her. She didn't make any comments and just allowed me to keep talking.

"Wow, just wow Lily, and you kept this whole thing from me all these while?" she asked bewildered when I finished with my confession.

So she didn't think I was crazy? She believed me?

Okay that's a good start.

"I just didn't know how to tell you all these. Trust me I tried talking about it with you severally but I just couldn't do it".

Just as she was about to give another response, we heard someone kick the door open. It was Cindy! She almost fell but regained her balance immediately.

"Sorry I didn't mean to interrupt or eavesdrop, I just heard voices coming from the kitchen when I woke up." she defended.

I looked around trying to find a clock somewhere around the kitchen. I did find one, and when I checked the time, it was 7:00am. We talked that long?

It was no surprise that Cindy was up then.

But how much did she hear in our conversation?

"Of course, no problem. It's your house to begin with. So you have the right to look out for burglars." Daisy said with a smile.

I swear this girl could change moods in seconds.

I still couldn't look at Cindy in the eyes. After all, she was chasing after me in my dreams just few hours ago. I was still traumatized by those maggots and it was all her fault. If Daisy looked closely, I'm sure she'd have noticed how uncomfortable I've been, scratching and pinching my skin.

"Lily are you okay?" Cindy asked in a concerned voice, now walking towards where we were sitting.

I just nodded my head and forced a little smile.

"Like I said I didn't mean to interrupt, but are you in any ways having nightmares?"

Woah, she heard us!

Did she hear the part I talked about her?

Just how much did she hear?
