Just like it left, the car appeared once again and stopped in front of the girls.
Daisy turned to Cindy and gave her a look, as if to tell her, "You see? She is your mother."
Cindy rolled her eyes at her but was glad that the woman came back for her. She did not know why, but the hurt from her chest earlier was replaced by softness.
"One more thing," Cindy called before they opened the door to the car.
"What?" Daisy asked impatiently. She really did not want them to miss this opportunity.
"Do not force me to have a conversation with her during the ride."
She was most definitely referring to Daisy.
"Fine. Now let's go in before they change their mind for good this time."
