Lily entered the office and quietly sat on a chair.
"So?" Milo asked, prompting her to speak up. She asked to see him in the first place anyway. She must have something she wanted to talk about.
Lily remained quiet. She seemed to be having a mental struggle to say whatever it was that was in her mind.
"What is it, Lily?" Milo asked, this time more softly. Maybe he had made this about himself and forgotten how she might be feeling. Was she okay?
Lily still did not say a thing but stood up and walked to Milo who was still standing and kissed him. This kiss was different. She held his face in her palms and kissed him deeply as if trying to convey a message. Milo did not seem to mind the purpose of the kiss as he grabbed her waist and pulled her closer. What mattered was that Lily, a girl he loves more than he would like to admit was kissing her.
