Now I needed to find a cab and hoped that what happened the last time did not repeat itself, I had become weary of cab rides.
I stopped the first one I saw, not learning from my previous lesson. He looked to be in his forties and looked kind. Although, I should know that looks can be very deceptive.
Getting into the car, I said a little prayer. Maybe I should have called Milo to pick me up? Maybe I should have let go of my pride and called him? It was too late anyway.
Thankfully I got to the office safely, but very late.
"Good morning everyone," I greeted as I entered the office. They all responded to my greeting and went back to work. Of course, except one person, who stood up and walked towards me.
"Hey, you missed the morning meeting," Laila greeted.
"Yes. I had things to take care of," I responded.
