Chapter 51 - Attrition (2)

[...You might have to consider strengthening the spell or choosing another one]

'Damn, and here I thought I had things under control... well then better act fast' Quickly Ash understood the situation and decided to immediately start casting the binding spell again.

Realizing what was going on, Daevion immediately started struggling as hard as he could throwing the idea of being discreet out of the window. There was no time for such things, it was now or never.

The chains binding Daevion's body started breaking one after the other, if this pace continued he could break out in less than ten minutes. Fortunately for Ash, the materials needed to prepare the spell were all ready, and deciding there was no time to waste, Ash immediately used the energy from the advanced magician mana stone and started using that to quickly cast another spell of the same magnitude, at the same time Ash opened the system store to purchase another advanced magician mana stone and inputted all his chakra inside and with some mana to complete the deficit.

As luck would have it, Ash managed to cast another spell just as Daevion was about to break through the last few remaining chains. The strength suppression was nor running at an all time high and it would take Daevion another 15 minutes to break the new spell.

Although a new spell was cast, but the work wasn't done. Deavion was still using all his strength to break the new spell, the look on his face unwavering and determined.

'A battle of attrition it is then' Ash looked solemn 'Must find the best way to use my energy here system what do you suggest?'

[Considering the current situation, your mana reserve is currently only at 70%, you can only cast this spell one more time with the help of the advanced magician stone and that would leave you with only 50% left. The best plan of action in this case is to cast the spell one more time with the help of the advanced magician core, after that you can purchase a wizard level core from the system store and using the 20% mana reserves left at that point, you can cast another wizard level binding spell with the help of the core and with the two fold seal the opponent shouldn't be able to break through the spells in that situation within the hour...]

'That definitely makes sense, better than any plan i could've made... but there is another problem, this is the only binding spell I know at the current level, an advanced magician level spell wouldn't cut it either... it works to be sure but still not to a sufficient level, not that I have one anyways.' Ash pondered slightly for a short while and then an idea struck him

'Why not reverse the order of things? Rather than casting this spell one more time, I can... that definitely sounds like it should work'

Ahs had decided on his plan of action and immediately followed through by opening the system store to purchase the wizard core directly inputting 30% of his mana reserves leaving him with 40%.

He had decided to reverse the order of things the system had him do. So the new plan was to purchase the wizard core first -- as he had done already -- and then using the energy from the core he could cast the spell the binding spell one more time leaving him with about 30% of his mana reserves.

And then using the system store he bought another wizard level binding speel using some of his mana and now slightly recovered chakra.

After purchasing the second wizard level sealing spell, Ash proceeded to use mana from both the advanced magician and the wizard level core to cast the spell...

With that, the overwhelming strength of Daevion and his cheat like artifact was properly sealed. 'That was definitely a genius plan, using the mana from the wizard level core definitely came in clutch.' Ash thought to himself as he checked his mana reserves. He only had 3% left.

"Alright, with that out of the way... just stop struggling already we both know you can't break this level of binding with your current energy and power levels... now tell who you actually are and why are you here, otherwise you wouldn't like the consequences..." Ash looked at the still struggling Daevion and said calmly while almost believing his bluff himself.

~~~~~~ General PoV ~~~~~~
Daevion stopped thrashing around and with a calm look began to reveal his story... "Alright, alright... you caught me, I'm not actually a merchant... I'm actually one of the inner disciples of the "Germinal Space Sect", I had been on a secret mission to asses the rank of this planet and determine whether there were any cultivators on it, but seeing your greatness I can see that this planet is filled with the energy of Magicians not Qi like we cultivators use so I guess this mission is already completed... if the great sir would allow me passage into outer space, or at least grant me mercy and permit me to stay for a few days on this planet while I find a way to leave... I would owe you a great debt, and you know what they say, a Germinal always pays back his debts..." Daevion said sheepishly, on his face an embarrassed look as if a child caught by his parents while trying to steal some candies.
Ash looked at him with a small smile and asked "... and the reason you crash landed was...?"
"Well this can be answered quite easily... unfortunately as I was headed over towards this planet I encountered a sudden space storm which was not detected by my ship's radar... I had went through a lot of trouble to try and escape the situation but sadly by the end of the space storm I was separated from my ship which was already almost completely destroyed and I crash landed on this planet due to gravity..." Daevion answered almost instantly, betting on the fact that the man in front of him didn't know the general situation of space whether currently. He only took this gamble based of his judgment of the surroundings where it was clear that the civilization which occupied this planet wouldn't have access to such information.
"Yes, yes... that makes sense, and how would you explain the poison that was in your body?" Ash asked with a now more playful look on his face
"Ah - Poison... it must have been the bastards from the "Deutsch Space Sect"; our sect's rivals, they must have planted it during the last friendly star sector tournament, I must hurry back to the sect and inform the sect elders about the poison. Ah - I forgot to thank senior for saving me from this poison. I swear upon the heavens that I shall repay this favor a hundred folds. You have my eternal gratitude" Daevion once again answered almost instantly, his acting deserving an Oscar and the look on his face fuy sincere.
"Alright... Cut the crap...
