This continued at every stop, in every town or city he visited until he finally befell the first battleground.
Tovuo put zero faith in the 'immortals' although Alexander was quite tall and intelligent he felt that he was not particularly special.
The first opportunity he came across he ditched them, when the town was unable to provide he left. Along the road things got worse and he had struggled along these past few moons. Still until he had no regret. Until today.
The air had a stench of blood. The ground died red and the bodies half rotted told a scene.
Still Tovuo marched forward until coming across the opposite end he heard voices.
"Do you think this one's a traitor or spy." A soldier said stepping out into the open.
"to be wandering the corpses of a battlefield, maybe we found the son of Aries or Hades?" the second said to the first.
Tovuo didn't wait. Tovuo didn't speak. In the small patch of land between these three was several bodies dead and a few broken weapons scattered. As he closed the gap he picked one up running it through the second soldier.
As the blood sprayed out the soldier attempted to scream. Without hesitation, the first soldier stepped forward blade drawn before being too struck down by Tovuo.
Tovuo had taken the armor and a set of weapons from the two recently fallen soldiers. Now cloaked as a solder he progressed forward.
Each solder had a few coins and Tovuo felt comfortable travelling for a short time. Unfortunately soldiers have few liberties.
"why are you off your post soldier?" A large voice yelled.
As Tovuo turned about he came face to face with a giant of a man. One who towered over even Alexander.
"I said why are you…" the giant man stopped as he looked Tovuo over. As he reached back for his blade he continued to scream; "infiltrating fool!"
A cool wind brushed past Tovuo sending chills through his body. Pulling out his sword too block. A blade the side of him swung downwards.
A cringing sound rained as a flash blinded the two. Like thunder and lightning raining down from the heavens the two exchanged blades a few more times before Tovuo found himself knocked aside.
"child," the old man claimed; "you have quite the future ahead of you. What is your name?"
