Chapter 42 - Could Not Eat and Sleep Well

Chu Yue woke up when it was eight in the morning. Due to her falling asleep early, she was now wide awake. In her previous life, she would never wake up this early when the weather was so cold outside.

Even though she did not know why she fell asleep last night, she did not find herself conflicted over it. It had to be because her body was weak. She finished washing up and went to make breakfast. Once she was done, she brought the food for the monk.

"Master, we are currently like a married couple," Chu Yue hinted.

The monk said nothing. He just continued eating.

Once he was done, Chu Yue put away the cutlery before she came over to see him. The monk was copying scriptures once more.

Chu Yue rested for a while before she began to do yoga. When the monk saw her doing weird poses on the bed, he resisted for a while before he could no longer hold back his curiosity.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm practicing yoga. It can make my body softer," Chu Yue replied. She was very obvious in her attempts to seduce him.

The monk just watched her.

Chu Yue performed yoga for an hour before she stopped and said, "Master, if you're going to ignore me, I'll go back."

The monk looked at her, and Chu Yue just waved her hand at him before she went back to Shangqing Temple.

Hupo was weaving bags in the courtyard. When she saw her mistress return, she sighed in relief and said, "Milady, are you going to wake up so early in the future?"

"Yes." Chu Yue nodded.

"Milady, if we knew this would happen, we should not have bought those accessories and fabrics. We would have been able to keep more money then and could open our shop earlier," Hupo said.

"It's not that easy to open a shop. Let's just take this slowly," Chu Yue said.

Hupo nodded and said nothing else. She embroidered a few more items with the thought that she could use them as capital.

Chu Yue went back to her room to continue training. She knew that the monk was acting like that intentionally. He made sure to always stay up while asking her to sleep first.

Today, she did not intend to go over. Why should she? Just to be an eyesore?

She would talk to him once she stopped being angry at him. She had to calm down first.

She only went to make lunch three days later. Eunuch Feng had come to send reports again on that day as well and, for some reason, was kneeling at the door. He had to have done something.

When Eunuch Feng saw Chu Yue come over, he looked as if he had seen his savior.

A pleading look was cast her way, but Chu Yue just glanced at him for a moment. 'How did this stupid eunuch provoke the monk? I thought that I would come when everyone's anger had subsided, but I didn't think that this stupid eunuch would come and add oil to the fire.'

As she expected, the monk's expression was incredibly dark. After Chu Yue was done cooking, she sent the food over, but the monk did not look at her, so she went closer to him. "Master, you should eat now."

The monk just watched the widow draw close to him. It was clear that he was still unhappy.

This woman had just left and not returned for three days. She actually did not come to keep him company at night!

"Master, I know I've done wrong, and I have repented for three days. I know very well that I was wrong now," Chu Yue said.

"What was your mistake?" The monk cast her an indifferent look.

Eunuch Feng, who had been kneeling at the entrance, perked his ears to listen. He was so terrified that nearly all his strength left his body.

"I should not have hit you, should not have kicked you, and should not have done many things. I should have adhered to the three obediences and four virtues, should have been someone who can be a good wife and good mother, should have listened to the person I like, and should have… Heh."

Midway through her speech, Chu Yue could not hold back. She started laughing.

As the monk listened to her, he felt that she was making sense, but before he could say anything, she began laughing. She did not appear to be sincere or to have repented at all, and his expression turned dark again.

"Master, don't force me anymore. I will never adhere to the three obediences and four virtues," Chu Yue said with a smile.

The monk cast her a glance and let out a light huff. "If others can do it, why can't you?"

"Other people are them, and I am me. Don't use other people's standards and ask me to do it. Besides, I am your woman," Chu Yue said in a matter-of-fact tone. "If my partner is willing to pamper me and let me indulge in whatever I want, who else will dare to say anything?"

Eunuch Feng, who was outside the door and heard the widow flatter his master, could have sworn that she knew his master's status based on her words. Yet that was impossible. She had never traveled far.

But that was not the most important part. When had the widow hit and kicked his master? That was what was important.

At some point that he did not know, the widow had treated his master like that?!

He had to ask Yingda later.

The monk did not expect that the widow would think in this manner, but he felt quite happy about it. What the widow said was quite true as well. He was willing to pamper and let her do whatever she wanted, so who would dare to say anything to her?

He turned his head to the side. "I don't care about how you treat others, but you have to treat me better."

Eunuch Feng was absolutely impressed. 'Master, you were trained by the widow this much already. I'm almost unable to recognize you now.'

"Hurry up and eat. Over the past three days, I have been missing you so much that I couldn't sleep at night," Chu Yue said.

The monk looked at her for a moment before saying, "Your complexion suggests that you have been sleeping very well.'

But he had not been eating and sleeping well over the past few days.
