There was a reason why Venusaur was practically immortal in its own rank and tier. If one were to look at the healing moves that it commanded, it could heal
4 times by 'Synthesis'. Each heal would recover 50% of its health. Leech Whip could heal by storing all the healing powers in vine whip. It can also heal all the allies within 5 minutes. This also includes serious injuries. Leech seed could also heal 2 Pokemons and also from grass-type Pokemons. Venusaur could also store the healing power in the seed and use all of it at the same time. Grassy terrain could passively heal it and also instantly heal it 50% of its hp. Restore could heal 50% hp one time. Deep forest emergence could also slowly heal it in battle. Vine whip could also suck the health points slowly.
It had 6 healing-type moves and many other moves that would enhance its defense. If the moves were timed right, Venusaur could not be killed not only in gym battles but also in tide battles.
Yet, the power of Venusaur has increased due to its passive move 'Voice of the forest'.
---
Voice of the forest:
Stage I: 1. Raise the special attack and special defense of the user.
2. Any grass-type moves would consume 50% less stamina and would be 40% more powerful.
3. At its full power it could affect an area of 200 meters around it while using grass-type moves.
---
It had not reached the second stage and frankly, Axel believed that it would take a lot of time for Venusaur to get it but even the first stage was incredible. A decrease in stamina consumption by 50% and an increase in damage by 40% was too broken in this stage. The passive also increased its special defense and attack and could cover 200 meters.
So, the pre-domain move of Venusaur 'Deep forest emergence' could have 200 meters of area coverage. Not even pseudo-champion rank Pokemons have such a huge coverage.
Axel didn't think even a champion-rank Pokemon could have such huge coverage.
"Are you both ready to fight?"
Both of them showed eager expressions to fight and show their skills.
"Remember, this is a friendly bout. So Gyarados, you cannot use 'Full throttle', and Venusaur, you cannot use the effect of 'Voice of the forest'.
"Let the battle begin!!"
ROOOARR
ROOOARR
Both of them roared from the top of their lungs. Gyarados used some weird dance to use 'Rain dance' and Venusaur used 'Sunny day'.
Both of them had weather effects. One of them caused rain while the other caused the sun to come up.
The weather instantly changed with harsh and burning sunlight and a raging rain storm. Axel could tell that Gyarados had not been neglecting this move. Even though the move had not leveled up to another threshold, it had grown powerful.
Venusaur immediately used 'Grassy terrain' to have a healing effect in the battle. Gyarados was a bit slow in using its next move and the move was 'Dragon dance'. Yet, Axel appreciated this slow move of Gyarados.
Unlike Venusaur, Gyarados didn't have a lot of healing moves that could sustain the battle. So, if Venusaur, chose to attack this time, Gyarados also had to attack. So, moving second was the optimal decision for it.
Even though it was a second slow in using this move, Gyarados was still faster than Venusaur. It directly used the move 'Hydro pump' on the face of Venusaur. With the power of 'Rain dance', the power of the move had also massively increased and they were also near the river, so the rain was very speedy.
Venusaur had a lot of healing moves but it didn't want to get hit by such a powerful move. So, it used 'Field control' and then 'Frenzy plant' to a wall made of wood. With the help of 'Field control', 'Frenzy plant' was very fast. Very soon 5 very thick branches of wood came from the ground and multiple thin woods combined to create a very strong a sturdy wall.
Axel was surprised that even this wall was not able to take the hit of 'Hydro pump'. It was already cracking when it made contact. So, Venusaur used 'Vine whip' that was connected to its body and slammed all of them to the ground as it flew in the air to avoid the hit.
Yet, it didn't know that due to the evolution of the move, Gyarados could use another 'Hydro pump' in 3 seconds. It didn't even have time to see the strong, sharp and forceful jet of water coming to its face.
BANG!!!
Gyarados had used 'Water manipulation' and increased the sharpness and the power of the move for the second hit. Venusaur was flow to the ground and crashed with a powerful thud.
Venusaur was heavy and big. So, the ground shook from the impact. Even though Venusaur's speed was far less than Gyarados, its reaction time was not to be underestimated. It immediately used 'Synthesis' and recovered all of its health.
By that time, Gyarados had already used 'Sky walk' to fly in the air. With the addition to rain, it was moving at a very fast speed. It also used 'Dragon dance' to boost its speed. Its mouth was wide open and all of its teeth were covered in a blue sharp aura of water. This was the move 'Crunch' which had also been upgraded.
Venusaur immediately used 'Vine whip' to create 6 vines from the ground and all of them came to bind Gyarados to stop its momentum. Gyarados was trapped in those vines and now it was ready for 'Solar beam'.
But Gyarados did something unexpected. It used the move 'Stone edge'. Now a rock-type move would not affect Venusaur much but multiple rocks came in between Gyarados and Venusaur to block the move. Venusaur fired 'Solar beam'. Since it had used the move 'Sunny day', it didn't need to charge for a long time. There were 7 massive slabs of big rocks that were blocking that move. Those slabs of rocks were able to block the move but just like 'Hydro pump', 'Solar beam' could also be used back to back and the remaining 2 rocks would not be enough to block it.
At that time, Venusaur flinched and Gyarados was able to get out of the bind of those whips. 'Vine whips' also had the ability to such the health points of the enemy. So, Gyarados was slowly losing its health too. Gyarados had used the move 'Stealth rock' and just now changed the direction of it to strike Venusaur.
So, in the nick of time, Gyarados was able to get out of the situation and dodge the beam.
Gyarados must have realized that it should finish this battle as soon as possible cause Venusaur had a lot of healing-type moves and it could stay in the battle for a long time.
So, it immediately used the move 'Hurricane'. 2 massive tornado winds were created from the right and the left side of Gyarados, and both of them quickly went to trap Venusaur. Taking advantage of it, Gyarados immediately used 'Hydro pump'.
Venusaur was now trapped. The tornadoes were going to rip it apart and then the beam was coming towards it.
So, it used 'Field control' at maximum power. 'Field control' could do anything with wood and Venusaur had a huge advantage on it but it would consume a huge amount of stamina depending on what Venusaur wanted to do.
Venusaur also used 'Wood thorns' and created many thorns to create a blockage of those moves to protect itself.
BOOM
BOOOM
BOOOM
2 things happened at the same time. First of all, both of those tornadoes combined to become even more widespread and deadly tornadoes and both of them clashed with Venusaur. Secondly, 'Hyper beam' also hit Venusaur.
There was a massive explosion after that attack and Axel didn't even know what had happened. He could sense the aura of Venusaur and could tell that it was injured but how much injured it really was? He had seen to find out.
When the explosion dust disappeared, everyone could see that Venusaur was inside a weird shield. The shield was totally made of wood but the wood looked very strong for some reason. It had fully covered its body except for its eyes. Yet, he could see that Venusaur was injured by this attack.
Venusaur didn't have the time to use 'Synthesis' to recover its health as Gyarados was already very close to it.
By this time Gyarados did some weird which Axel could not understand. It had covered its whole body inside a water-type sharp aura. This seemed to have increased its speed and also its attack.
BANG!!
Gyarados slammed its body on Venusaur who was covered in the shield. The power of the attack must have been very high as the shield was starting to crack. Venusaur was really in a pinch here as it could not heal right now.
So, it did something risky. All of a sudden the green grass that was slightly beaming with light disappeared and then Axel could see that Venusaur had healed a lot of its health. It had canceled 'Grassy terrain' to recover 50% of its health points.
After that Venusaur, immediately used 'Razor leaf' and then used 'Grass pledge' to create a tornado of sharp leaves and all of them attacked Gyarados at the same time.
One of the main reasons for Gyarados to come near to land a physical hit. This was mainly due to 2 reasons. First of all, it didn't want Venusaur to use any healing moves as it could attack at a fast pace while it was near and secondly, it was more of a physical attacker than a special attacker.
Of course, Gyarados had some special attack moves that were very deadly like 'Hydro pump' and 'Tail blade' but its mastery lay in physical attack. Also due to its recent mastery in its passive move 'Tenacity', the power of its physical attack was higher.
But Venusaur took advantage of the same thing to send out a powerful attack.
At this time, Axel realized that Gyarados was literally a glass cannon. It has high attack, special attack, and speed. But it didn't have any healing moves or any defensive moves. Axel needed to concentrate on this if he wanted it to be used in tide battles. Because in tide battles, defense and healing moves were the ones that could keep it alive.
Gyarados also did something very creative this time. As it was getting hit by the storm of sharp knife-like leaves, it used the move 'Aqua tail' and slammed in on the head of Venusaur.
The shield was immediately destroyed by the attack and since the move also had a stun and knock back effect, Venusaur was dazed for a couple of seconds.
Gyarados took full advantage of that and used the move 'Outrage'.
BANG!!
Venusaur was hit again by the move as it crashed to the ground. As Gyarados came for the second round, it used 'Energy ball' to create 4 small ball of green energy, combine them, and hit Gyarados on the face.
BANG!!!
The power of the move was very high as Gyarados took significant damage from it. Gyarados didn't still still and then used 'Tail blade' at full power this time. It might have also used 'Water manipulation' cause the tail blades were very sharp and unusual in shape. Since it had used a lot of power in this move Venusaur had a lot of thinking to do, if it wanted to win this battle.
'Tail blade' had become very powerful now as it was the highest level move of Gyarados.
Venusaur knew that it could only defend itself. It didn't have the speed of Gyarados.
So, it used 'Razor leaf' to counter the move and then used 'Field control; with 'Frenzy plant' to block the moves.
BOOM
BOOM
BOOM
BOOM
BOOM
A huge amount of explosions could be seen and heard by those attacks. Gyarados must have used all of its stamina by that move.
