Putrakameshti Yagna was an ancient, sacred Yajna to attain a child. In fact, it was not like they had never thought about this option.
However, the problem was that the putrakameshti yagna is one of the most difficult and complex yagnas, and it cannot be performed by anyone.
This sacred yajna could only be performed by an enlightened rishi who is well versed in the Yajurveda.
For many years, Gauri and Shankar searched for and reached out to many sages, saints, and hermits.
They travelled many places just to find this kind of rishi. Through their contacts, there was not a single place they did not visit, only to return empty-handed.
Knowing their identity, nobody tried to deceive them. They could assist in the ceremony, but they still needed a leader to guide them.
