"nngh!" My physical body started to sweat in pain and frustration, I clenched my teeth and furrowed my eyebrows, I'm almost there! I almost reached it until I heard a sound.

[What? A spiritual beast? What's a creature like that doing in the outskirts of the forest?] I headed out and started to search for a weapon of some sort. "Villagers, I am Ryu Sakuraba, I'm the envoy from the Holy City sent by the Pope," A brown savage haired man spoke calmly, I ran towards the cabin in the high praries and slammed the door open. [I have to see if mama is okay! damn it! I knew I shouldn't have been gone for far too long!] I looked around and searched for my sickly mother, but she was nowhere to be found.
"Mama!" I shouted, I looked in her room and inside mine but she was nowhere to be found, the last place I had to check was, [The bathroom! She definitely has to be there or else I'll--]

"MAMA! I LOOKED FOR YOU EVERYWHERE I WAS SO WORRIED!" Tears had filled my eyes, but then I suddenly remembered it was the bathroom. [Wait-- WHAT?! ACK! I forgot this was the bathroom!] I slammed the door harshly and sighed, [Good thing I didn't see anything. the bathroom is a very special place according to mama. I wonder why?] I pondered until the door behind me opened, I got on my knees and said;

I pleaded, [I didn't mean to intrude in on her private business! this is all my fault! I'd gotten worried something happened to her because of that man from earlier. [I don't want Mama to get hurt because of the people outside...They treat her so harshly, but she has done nothing wrong to put them in peril.] I sighed and walked away from the bathroom door.
My beautiful and yet graceful mother came out with a small soft smile, "You don't have to worry Yu Yan, I know." She mumbled, Mama's name was Yu Chuan, hers meaning "versus (yu) passing (chuan)" She told me that she named me yu yan due to my father's wish. But she never talked about him unless it was about that because she almost never ate when she created weapons.
"Cough! Cough!" I couldn't help but run towards her and hand her some water, "Mama...I told you so many times that we should go and see the doctor, It won't hurt going there, will it?"
Mama glared and walked away from me, [She's mad...I'll just wait till that anger vanishes and apologize. I better go cultivate some more!] I skipped to the backyard in our small prairie and meditated for a bit.
"Xiao yan, you have to get to the test on time," Mama gasped between breaths, her black soot hair falling from her back to her shoulders as she gasped for more. "Mama..." I gritted my teeth for what was to come, that day would change my life forever.

"Xiao Yan! It's me, the chief elder, can we talk?" He shouted through the door, I bit my lip and turned to my now calm mother as she sighed and walked towards her room. I furrowed my brows and opened the door, "Yeye?*"
"Xiao yan! Long time no see! My you've grown since the last time I saw you," He gushed, I stood there smiling yet worried for my mother. [I don't want to leave her today, what if something happens and i can't..]
"You shouldn't worry for your mother, she'll be fine! Xiao Yan, you've grown taller now that I've gotten a closer look at you, my eyes have started to fail me once again." He smiled brightly, and I knew that he was only trying to make me feel better but, my worries wouldn't stop bugging me.
"Yeye, do we head to the temple nearby?" I asked him, he nodded, "by the way, has your mother still not let you take her to a doctor? I'd be willing to present you a skilled doctor in the village. She's very talented in sicknesses that affect the elder like me and your mother." He smiled with a worried expression, I brushed it off and thanked him for the offer, "Thank you Yeye, but..." I bit my lip in hopes of taking her next year, "Mama wants to stay that way, She hopes that it will heal naturally and not through medicines." I answered he nodded sighing sadly.
"Well, we're here Xiao Yan, I've brought the last one Mr. Ryu." The chief elder reminded, as the envoy nodded, "we're ready to go in," He placed his hand on the stone in front of the big tall temple that was near 70 meters tall, but his spiritual beast was much taller. [I'd never seen something like this in my past life, what's this exam for? is is to see our talents in cultivation or something else? Either way I have to be careful not to stand out too much.] I nodded and headed to the temple along with the other village children.
"Time to begin the Spiritual Weapon Ceremony," The envoy declared and opened the door as I waved goodbye.
