Lisa's P.O.V
During lunch, the four of us sat together like we normally would but everything seemed different. I was sure aware of their new relationship... everyone was. But what I didn't understand was the reason behind their change in behavior. I felt so freaking left out. Right there, they were pretty much just feeding each other and blushing.
It was torture. I couldn't watch.
I had really thought Justin was mine till I found out I was just a joke to him. Then I asked myself: 'Why did he kiss me so many times if he didn't truly love me?' There must have been something more to it. I couldn't think of what exactly though.
Maybe he was just playing me for the fun of it but now, he's gotten serious business. So, I guess their relationship isn't a contract after all. It was real!
What still baffled me was the fact that Anastasia always got what she wanted, every time. I know I'm her friend and I'm always supposed to be glad for her whenever good things happen to her but it was now unbearable.
When she wanted to be the class prefect, though she had numerous adversaries, including me, she got it by doing nothing. And to top it all, most of us were even better than her in academics.
And that's not the end of it... When she wanted to be the head of the music club, she got it. And numerous other scenarios I can't recount. Now, Justin??? Is she the only person in the universe??
Guess what, I did easily accept defeat in those petty competitions but this one... No! Justin certainly wasn't hers- he's mine, always and forever. And I was going to ensure I make that known to her... and the whole school. It's not a taboo to date your cousin now, is it? He should get that and not just give up on us so easily.
I turned to look at Alan and he looked uncomfortable too. I signaled him and we left together, leaving them to have their privacy to do their disgusting stuff.
Even when we stood up and left, Justin didn't even give a bother. Ugh!
Alan and I strolled to the football pitch and ate our lunch on the spectators' seats in perfect peace. There was an awkward silence between us but it was way better than having to watch all that mushy shit.
About Alan, he was already dating that problematic cheerleading freak, Cindy. The only time that girl didn't behave so sassy and bitchy is when she was with him. Such a fascinating pretender!
I wonder why they even started dating in his first week. He's probably regretting his decision already.
I couldn't deny the fact that he was really handsome and charming... and I had a thing for black guys but for some reason, I had that feeling that we wouldn't work out.

"Hey, wait up Lisa," I heard someone scream when I was walking through the hallways. When I turned back, I discovered it was Cindy. Now what did this girl want from me?
"What?" I asked repulsively.
"It's your brother, Justin" She paused for a few seconds. "I saw him smooching Anastasia right here in the morning." She snitched. I was pretty shocked cos I wasn't aware but I did well in masking the shock.
She was a loud-mouth and a gossip— one other thing I didn't like about her.
"Okay. Thank you for that bit of info. Now, what should I do? Aren't you aware they're dating or is your brain not useful enough to decode that?" I shot.
"Look, just warn him against associating with her. She's undesirable"
"You're aware that you're saying that to her best friend, right?"
"So what?"
"So you should get outta my sight"
"Suit yourself." She said, hissed and sashayed away. She had been Anastasia's rival ever since Josh Richard dumped her for Staci.
'Such a dumbass' I cursed in my head as she receded. Why did she tell me that? Remembering what she had said killed me inside. So now they're bussing like we used to. Dammit!

Justin's P.O.V
Lisa and I were walking home after school when she erupted.
"You didn't even notice when we left, did you?" she asked.
"I did."
"But?"
"Nothing... I just didn't want to say anything." I confessed.
"Because you don't give a damn?" She questioned.
"No, not that." I tried denying. "I thought that maybe you and Alan..." she cut in.
"Ever since you've gotten your new girlfriend..." she said the 'new girlfriend' with so much repugnance, I felt annoyed. "... You've been kicking me to the curb. Is that what cousins are for?"
"Well, she's my girlfriend. And we literally live in the same house." I stated.
"So what?" She snapped rudely. "And once we get to school, you behave as if you don't even know me." I stared at her, speechless. I was actually guilty of that but what did she need me for when she had many other friends?
"It's not my fault."
"So whose is it?" She asked but I didn't give her a reply. Why the hell was she making a mountain outta a molehill? Damn, I hate problematic girls. Right then, I just wished I could magically vanish.
"Not mine." I finally replied.
She heaved a sigh. "Don't even get why you made her your girlfriend." Immediately after uttering those words, she appeared to wish she could swallow them.
"What do you mean by that?" I asked, offended. Actually, what the hell did she mean by that statement? She kept quiet and looked away, probably regretting her utterance.
I was furious.
"You know what... Don't bother." She said in a calmer tone this time, backing out.
"No... I'm really bothered." I half-yelled. "Explain yourself. Come on."
"Never mind." She muttered.
"No... I want to talk about it." I insisted, pressurizing her more.
"Just forget it, ugh!" And then she walked away.
"That'd be better. At least I'll save my energy for my date with Anastasia." I shouted out loud. She didn't mind and just kept walking away.
