His friends' series of "What's wrong?", "Why do you look angry?" caused Yoru's head to throb. Yoru didn't know what to feel about the information about Sugi. Should he be angry? But why? What's the reason for him to be angry? then, disgusted? No, that's not right too. Who is he to judge. Sugi is simply a stranger to him. He learned that he's gay, okay, then what?
Yoru also warned Sugi not to appear in front of him anymore. So Yoru doesn't have to bother thinking about what to do, right? he didn't even tell his friends about this. He himself didn't know why he was keeping this a secret. Sugi didn't ask him to keep it a secret.
Plus, Yoru never hides a secret with his friends.
Another exaggerated sigh escaped Yoru's lips. He used his index and middle finger to massage his temple.
After his last class was over, he bid his farewell to his friends and went to the court. Being the vice president of the basketball club makes it difficult for him to have fun with his friends. But maybe this is a good thing. He will use his skills to get a scholarship. Because he's stupid academically.
Yoru jogged his way to the court when he saw his captain whistled.
Other members were stretching on the court with their clothes changed. The president told Riku to hurry and get changed. Riku took long strides to the locker room.
He fist-bumped with other members inside the locker room, and juniors bowed their heads to Yoru. He only nodded and told him to run along.
Yoru was the only one left.
It's quiet in the room. Causing his mind to wander again.
Sugi.
He mentally cursed himself then let out an annoyed sigh as he took off his uniform. It's annoying how he can't get rid of Sugi off of his mind. Sugi stands out too much. How can someone ignore him? plus he learned that Sugi was gay!
Yoru directed his frustration to his strength, causing him to close his locker room so hard he could hear the things inside his locker room started to drop. Creating a loud clanking sound.
"Yoru, what happened?!"
He heard the club president yelled from outside. Yoru sighed and ignored the mess he just caused.
"Everything's fine!"
─────────────────────────────────────────
Sugi sauntered across the empty hallway. He made mental note to sew his uniform as it was slightly torn because of Yoru. But deep down in his heart, he wasn't angry. In fact, he feels happy that his crush finally looked at him. This thought warmed his heart and felt his stomach tingle. But from the outside, he looks normal. Wearing his usual stoic expression.
He was a little sad that Yoru told him to stay away, but it seemed impossible.
"... Basketball,"
Sugi mumbled to himself, recalled that Yoru was probably on the court. Should he visit him? There's a chance that Yoru would probably hit him with a basketball though.
He chose to approach him in a different way.
─────────────────────────────────────────
"Great work everyone,"
The captain was extremely pleased with the results of today's training. He asked everyone to drink, but Yoru refused because he had to work part-time in an hour. As a result, Yoru went straight to his workplace alone. He was still wearing his basketball uniform while walking casually on the side of the road. His body felt tired from the training. Moreover, he still had pain in his stomach.
He'll have to scold his sister to make a healthy meal next time.
It didn't take a long time until he reaches the small convenience store. But his day just turned shittier as he saw a familiar figure waltz in the store.
Yoru let out a defeated sigh.
It's Sugi.
Yoru took a deep breath to calm himself down. He decided to ignore it and walked into the store from the back door.
"Hello Yoru-san," One of the co-workers, Noriko, greeted Yoru with a joyous smile.
Yoru smiled politely since she's older than him. "Hello," He bowed a little before heading to the staff room. He went to his locker to change into his uniform.
After finished changing, he walked toward the counter alone. Noriko said she's going to rest and let Yoru handle the cashier since there are no many customers around. His eyes twitched when he saw the boy with black curly hair. His locks are sticking up everywhere. He held two juice boxes and put it on the counter.
Sugi's expression remained composed.
It's like he treated Yoru like a stranger. Usually, if there's a student who saw Yoru working here they would greet him. Yoru sighed and grabbed the box juices, and a sewing kit.
Yoru raised one of his eyebrows a little upon seeing the sewing kit, but he immediately lost interest. He hastily scanned the things so that Sugi can go away as fast as possible.
"That'll be 220¥" (A/N : 220 yen = 2,07 dollars)
Sugi rummaged through his pockets.
Yoru's eyes then caught the hole on Sugi's collar.
Shit, that's probably because of him.
No no, that's definitely because of him.
Guilt rushed over Yoru's body and he mentally slammed his forehead against a wall. Should he say something about it? but it's Sugi who's being a creep first. Yoru prodded his cheek with his tongue to endure the annoyance he's feeling at the moment.
"... I'll pay for the sewing kit," It came out as a mumble. But his rough demeanor wasn't effective to Sugi. He could hear a hint of guilt coming out from Yoru's voice.
"It's fine," Sugi replied as he gave Yoru the money.
Yoru furrowed his eyebrows. Well, he didn't accept it. Yoru didn't say anything else while counting the change. He gave Sugi the change, tried to relax his eyebrows a bit.
"... Fine,"
Sugi stared at Yoru for a bit before offering Yoru the juice box. Yoru looked at the juice box like a dumbass, then back at Sugi— asking for confirmation.
"For you,"
Why would Sugi give him a juice box? he ruined his uniform, called him a weirdo, and overall— being a complete asshole. So why? Yoru sighed. He's too weary to argue more deeply with Sugi. He accepted the juice box slowly.
"Thanks,"
Yoru put the juice back behind the counter. Sugi didn't say anything else and walked out of the store.
Yoru sighed and leaned back, crossing his arms and looked at the juice box.
"... Weirdo,"
