"Congratulation."
This was the only word Cecil managed to say before he choked. Thankfully there were lots of noises so, none could hear his rough voice. Samaira and Noah both thanked him. Cecil quickly wanted to escape and cry but was stopped by Aaron.
"Where are you going? Let's take a group photo to remember this day, our Noah's first girlfriend."
Cecil just helplessly stood up there. "Where did you bring the camera from?" Noah asked.
"Oh today I am directly leaving with my father to travel outside the country so, I bought this camera. Let's take a photo now." Aaron replied signalling everyone to stand together.
Noah and Samaira were standing together while Cecil was standing on the far left side away from them. Everyone were busy talking with each other so, Cecil silently left the group after taking the photo without anyone noticing his leave.
Cecil soon reached his home and shut himself in his room. Both Bella and Cain hadn't arrived at home yet. He laid flat on his ned with a blank expression on his face. Thank god he didn't confess early otherwise his confession would be like a joke in front of everyone. A guy confessing to a guy? Naturally, everyone would be disgusted and would prefer Samaira. He wouldn't have to worry about his idea of confession being exposed after all only Katherine knew about it and wouldn't tell anyone about it.
It was good to leave this place, right. He won't have to see both of them together in love. If he couldn't see, he couldn't feel sad. He couldn't feel jealous. He couldn't be hurt., right. But still thinking Noah now belonged to Samaira, his heart was aching. He had already imagined this situation before but hadn't expected it would hurt this much when he actually faced it. It was a feeling he had never experienced before. He was feeling like somebody had pierced his heart with a knife smashing it into pieces.
But why did Samaira not tell him anything? They suddenly got together and he had no idea. Before this Samaira had never mentioned anything about liking Noah. She had even told him that she would never like Noah. Why did she lie to him? Why did she keep it a secret? If she had told him then he wouldn't have spent that much time trying to gain strength and courage to confess to Noah. He remembered Samaira behaving differently when they were at the end of grade six. She only started to talk with him properly like before after they started studying in Noah's home.
Sine then Samaira had always liked sticking close to Noah. She never overdid anything that would make others think she had a crush on Noah while she was secretly aiming Noah. And like a fool, Cecil was expressing his feeling for Noah with Samaira every time. She must have laughed and mocked me, right. It was obvious that only Cecil took Samaira as his best friend and shared everything. Is this betrayal? No, Noah also likes Samaira so, they are together. It's not anyone's fault. It's his fault for falling in love with someone who he shouldn't have fallen for.
"Hahaha !! Why am I such a fool?"
Cecil spent that whole afternoon crying. When Bella and Cain arrived at home, his eyes were swollen and red. He said Bella that he would go outside for a while and left his home.
Cecil was sitting on the bench of the local park looking at the sky which was already orange and yellow indicating it was already dusk. He was lost on his thoughts when someone tapped him from behind. He turned back and saw it was Samaira. He didn't know what to say while Samaira sat beside him. Neither of them spoke for a while.
"I am sorry, Cecil."
Samaira said breaking the awkward silence.
"Why are you saying sorry?" Cecil asked.
"I know you had feelings for Noah but I still didn't say anything about us. The truth is I also had always liked Noah but I couldn't tell it to you. When Noah suddenly confessed me, I accepted without thinking anything."
"When did he confess?"
"Before the start of the exam. I wanted to tell you but you were busy preparing for the exam. I am really sorry, Cecil." Samaira said crying.
"It's okay, don't cry. I am not blaming you. I am just a little bit sad and angry thinking you kept it a secret from me. If Noah loves you then you should be with him. I can't force Noah to love me, right." Cecil explained wiping away Samaira's tears.
"Thank you, Cecil."
"It's okay."
Cecil said smiling slightly. He then asked, "Tell me how did he confess to you?"
Samaira got shy and replied, "At first he confessed me in facebook and asked my number. I thought he was joking and gave him my number. He then immediately called me and again confessed me seriously. I couldn't reject him."
Cecil laughed and said, "It's a really unique way of confessing. Then take care of Noah. By the way, are you going somewhere?"
Samaira was wearing a dress which she wore when she was travelling. She also smiled and said, "Yeah. We're going out of the city for a while toady evening. I'll see you again only after the new year."
"Then enjoy your travel."
"Okay, I'll be going now. Bye and see you again, Cecil." Samaira said standing and leaving.
"Bye. I'll never see you again." Of course, the latter sentence was said by him on a low voice so that Samaira couldn't hear.
Through facebook, mobile, huh. Cecil didn't have cell phone so how could he stay contact with Noah all the time? At the other hand, Samaira grabbed that chance to be close with Noah and succeeded too.
But what does it matter to Cecil now? He was going to go far away from this city, far away from Noah and everyone. They would forget him soon. He was glad that he didn't tell anyone that he would be leaving tomorrow. Cecil will disappear from Noah's life completely. Only Cecil will know that he had once loved a boy called Noah in the city which he had left.
