Cecil and Cain were on their way to the bus stop when Cecil heard someone calling him. He only got to turn around when he was suddenly hugged tightly by someone.
"Cecillll, it's so good to see you again."
Cecil somehow removed himself from the hug and said, "Woah, Samaira!!!! When did you return?"
Samaira Scott was the next-door neighbour of Cecil and his best friend since his childhood. They had known each other since grade two. Samaira was a girl with the same age of Cecil. She was slightly taller than Cecil with slim body. Her blue eyes with long black hair made her look like a ceramic doll. Her family was very rich. Being the only daughter of the rich family, she was treated as the princess. Before today, she had gone abroad for a holiday with her family.
Samaira walked next to Cecil and replied, "We just arrived yesterday night. I was planning to meet you yesterday but I was so tired and fell asleep."
"Oh then how was your vacation, sister?" Cain asked.
"Hmmm... It was pretty exciting. I've brought souvenirs for all of you. I'll give it to you after returning from the school."
They arrived at the bus stop just in time when the bus had arrived. It was already half-past nine and their school started at exact 10 am. Greenwood High School was a prestigious and most popular school of their city and the country. The school was strict in discipline and academic matters. Students of that school had to be appropriately dressed in the school uniform and weren't allowed to arrive late.
Cecil, Cain and Samaira reached their school. Normally after entering the school, Cecil and Cain separated to go to their respective classes. Cecil and Samaira were walking to their classes when they heard someone shouting their names.
"CECIL !!!"
"SAMAIRA !!!"
They both turned around and saw a girl with curly brown hair running towards them. Cecil stepped forward and said, "Katherine, long time no see. How are you?"
Katherine stopped to catch her breath and said, "I am fine. How about both of you?"
"We're also fine." Samaira answered.
Cecil Redfox, Samaira Scott and Katherine Miller were the best friends since grade two. They all met each other in grade two and instantly became friends. Samaira was a cheerful and happy girl while Katherine was bold and full of life. Only Cecil was studious and introverted. He didn't speak much in class except his best friends. They were the unusual trio of the class with different personalities. Everyone who knew them for the first time would always be shocked thinking how they managed to be friends.
It was the first day of the semester, so they all sat together as the seats weren't arranged. Cecil loved to sit on the corner by the window whereas Samaira sat at the side and Katherine sat between Samaira and Cecil. The benches could adjust three students so, they normally sat together.
There was still five minutes remaining to ring the bell to start their class. Students were entering inside the class one by one. Katherine and Samaira, as the cheerful types started talking with everyone. Cecil stayed on his seat gazing at the cherry blossom trees outside the window.
It was a spring season so, the cherry blossom trees were blooming with pink everywhere. The atmosphere was calm and gentle spring breeze was blowing. Cecil loved watching that sort of atmosphere. He opened the window and the breeze immediately hit on his face. He felt like he was the only one in the world. All the background noises of the students faded away. He felt calm and cool.
Cecil woke up from his stupor when the bell rang. All the students sat o their seats. Their homeroom teacher entered the class and introduced herself first.
"Hi everyone. My name is Jennifer Smith and your homeroom teacher for this semester. You can call me Ms Jenny in short form and I'll be teaching you social studies. Everyone let's have a good year together."
She was silent for a while and said, "That's right !! Let's start the class by introducing everyone."
After that, everyone introduced themselves one by one. There was a knock on the door after they finished their introductions. Ms Jenny went and opened the door. The principal of their school was standing outside the door. She talked with the principal for a while and entered the class again.
Jennifer stood in front of the class smiling and announced,
"I have a piece of good news. This semester, we have a new friend joining us. Everyone, let's welcome the new student."
