The first day of the semester ended just like that. The first day was just some introduction classes. Everything would be arranged for the next day. That day Cecil couldn't talk with Noah even though he wanted to. Katherine was just like a potato, blending with everyone. She even managed to talk with Noah. Samaira wasn't too much interested in Noah so, she spent her time with Cecil and some other friends. Noah also managed to be friends with the two popular boys of the class, Aaron Brooks and Marcus Lacy.
Aaron Brooks was a tall boy with good looks. He was also a member of the basketball team of the school. Marcus Lacy was also one of the attractive boy of the class. He was in the football team of the school. They were both centre and mood maker of the class. Noah being extroverted easily blended with them with their same personalities.
Well, the first day of the school was normal for everyone. Katherines' home was in the opposite direction of Cecil and Samaira so, they separated. Cecils' brother, Cian also joined them. At the corner of the school gate, Cecil saw Noah going home riding on his bicycle. He looked so cool. Cecil was also feeling bad because he didn't even know how to ride a bicycle.
They soon reached their home. Bellas' office hour would end at 5 pm. So after changing their uniforms, Cecil started to make snacks for themselves. Cecil was too hungry so, he made noodles for both of them. As they were eating, they heard a knock on the door.
Cecil opened the door and saw Samaira standing holding a packets of chocolates and other junk foods.
"Samaira, come in."
Samaira entered, sat on the chair next to Cain and gave him a box of dark chocolates.
"Here Cain, for you. I know you love dark chocolates."
"Thank you, sister." Cain said receiving the chocolates.
Samaira then turned to Cecil and said, "Cecil, I know you love ice-cream. See here, I bought a bunch of them. Yesterday after returning, I immediately put them inside the freezer."
Cecil smiled gently and said, "You didn't have to buy this much. Anyway thanks for the gift."
"Haha, it's okay. We're best friends after all. And these are all for aunty." Samaira said giving the packages of dry fruits.
As they were talking, Bella also arrived. Seeing three children enjoying their foods and laughing, her tiredness instantly vanished. She also joined them. Later Bella asked Samaira to stay for a dinner but Samaira refused saying she would come next time.
It was already 10 pm. Cecil finished all his works. He didn't have any school assignments to do. So, he laid on the bed wearing his pyjamas and removing spectacles. He had the habit of thinking deeply before sleeping so, today he was thinking about Noah. He was already fourteen but he didn't know what the process of actually falling in love was.
Cecil liked Noah. It was his first time being attracted to the gender. Everything about Noah was perfect. His hair, his eyes, his nose, his lips... EVERYTHING!! The girl he had thought he was in love was nowhere near Noahs' level. He placed his hand near his heart. Yes, it was besting loudly with just the thought of Noah. In that time, Cecil instantly knew that Noah was his first love.
Cecil didn't know when he fell asleep but the next morning as usual he woke up with the sound of the alarm. There was a huge difference between yesterdays' Cecil and today Cecil. Till yesterday everything was normal for Cecil, same old dull routine and life. But today everything was colourful. His eyes were gentle and there was a natural smile on his face. It was like his new first day with brand new love. He felt like dancing in some love songs.
As usual, both Cecil and Cain went to the school. Cecil, Katherine and Samaira were sitting together. Noah was sitting on the last bench was Aaron and Marcus. Soon Ms Jenny entered inside the classroom.
"Goodmorning, class."
"Goodmorning, teacher."
Ms Jenny smiled and said, "Today we are going to formally arrange seats for everyone for this whole semester. We will pick up the cards with the numbers written on each. Naturally, no. 1,2,3 will sit together and it will go on continuously after that. So, everyone come and pick up the cards turn by turn."
Katherine put her arm on Cecils' shoulder and said, "I want to sit with Noah."
Cecil also nodded his head and said, "Me too."
Not only, Katherine and Cecil, all of the girls wished the same.
Everyone was picking their cards. Finally Cecils' turn came and picked up his card looking at the number. It was 2. He looked at Katherine and Samaira signalling them to tell their numbers. Katherine signalled 7 while Samaira signalled 9. So, he wasn't with both of them. Only God knew how much Cecil was praying Noahs' number would be 1 or 3. Cecil also signalled them saying he got no. 2.
What Cecil didn't know was, Noah was silently observing their interactions, Noah has also already picked up his cards. When he saw Cecil signalling them he picked no. 2, Noah smiled without anyone noticing him.
After everyone's turn was over, Ms Jenny called no. 1,2,3 to sit on a first bench. When Cecil saw Noah going and sitting on the corner of the first bench, he blanked out for a while. God really did listen to his prayer. He somehow managed his specs and went to sit beside Noah. Although there wasn't any expression on his face, his mind was booming with firecrackers saying 'Banzai!'. He was really happy. Next to him was Marcus.
Katherines' face became sad after that. She was on the third bench while Samaira was on the last. Everyone sat on their seat. There was a disappointed expression on all of the girls faces. They were all eyeing Cecil with envy and jealousy. Why was Cecil so lucky? They also wanted to sit with Noah, okay !! Their dreams were crushed for this semester.
While Cecil was lost on his own world, Noah observed Cecil. He felt sitting with Cecil was more exciting than with those fangirls. Noah elbowed Cecil. Cecil looked at Noah and Noah smiled at him. That smile was worth a hundred million dollars to Cecil. Noah opened his mouth and said,
"Hi, cutie."
