Chapter 12 - Road trip To luohe City

He activated the conveyor belt but the cost to operate it was more than all of his men working together could make an hour. So he used an unlock token and began to place a Biomass burner. All his people had to do was fill it with wood and others type of plants and it would generate the required amount of electricity needed to run the conveyor. About 30 minutes passed by and it was completed but he noticed a problem. The range of the generator wasn't as far as he had hoped so he dived into the build menu again until he found a device called an energy pylon capable of taking power from nearby generators and powering everything in a 5 mile radius.

- 100,000 M.V.

It cost quite a lot of M.V. but it was worth it. He then placed a second Biomass burner before walking over to the cave. He picked up all of the items which filled most of the cave. With the items collected he moved down to the town and found William who was moving Tree stumps. He explained the functions of the Biomass burner and told William to save some of the wood that they cut down for use in the burner. He placed the Wheel barrows in a neat order than placed the shovels down. Next he placed the Mining drills down and explained how they worked.

" This drill will work within a 5 mile radius of that pylon over there. If you leave that area it will begin to consume a small amount of Divine energy to power itself. " He picked up a large rock about the size of a cantaloupe and spoke again.

" A rock this size once dumped into the Square of light will generate enough divine energy to power the mining drill for about an hour. "

After explaining everything Julian activated a way point at Luohe City and activated his teleportation. He disappeared from where he was and appeared 500 miles north on top of a mountain peak. Instead of taking a break to recover his psychic force he instead began to jump as far as he could over and over again. Since he was just upgraded to the Nascent soul stage his control over his strength wasn't very good so he tumbled and fell every now and then. When he jumped he would spread his divine sense over the area and try to land wherever he found an ant hill. The impact from his body slamming into the ground crushed the ant hills he landed on gaining hundreds of kills every jump. Time quickly passed by and the kills began to stack up quickly. As he moved he saw Several towns and small cities that he ignored for the mean time. His main focus was to get to the Major city of Luohe and get what he needed. Once he had what he wanted he was going to try and convince the populations of these small towns and cities to follow him back to Isvan.

Soon 2 days passed by and he traveled over 6 thousand miles.

The city of Luohe came into his sites and he walked up to the gates ignoring the long line of people trying to make it into the city. The guard went to stop him but saw the Armor he was wearing and was taken aback. Julian flashed the royal Insignia of the Koryak Kingdom and walked into the city unimpeded.

The guard watched as the Julian walked into the city and then went to report to his superiors.

Once he entered the city his map updated and the entire layout of the city lay before him. He browsed it until he found The cities library, The soul stone market and the Cities biggest market center.

He didn't like all the eyes on him so he found a nearby clothing store and bought some standard cultivator robes and some shoes.

With this in hand he walked into an alley and quickly equipped it. Once he had the new change of clothes he teleported to another nearby alley and exited from there. A couple moments after he teleported from the alley a high ranking city guard appeared in the alley and was surprised to see the man had disappeared. He reported it to his superiors and continued to look around.

Julian walked to the city library completely unaware that the cities authorities were searching for him.

In about 20 minutes he came upon The city library and walked to the front desk. He asked for several categories of books and the woman behind the counter pointed him towards the areas he was looking for. After collecting dozens of different books he placed them on a table and sat down. He spent the entire day reading and by the time he was done he had gone through over 400 different books all about different things. This was his limit at his current level. If he wanted to be able to read more and successfully store the info he would have to either rank up his cultivation level or psychic level to gain more intelligence stats.

Although he wanted to learn more. He was more than satisfied with what he had. He put the books back and walked outside onto the street. It was now night time but the city was still bustling. The bars were packed as well as the inns.

" Hey brad are you heading to the auction house tonight? I heard their selling a rank 4 beast core! "

" What! No way ! "

The two men passing by spoke to each other which caught Julian's attention. He walked up to the two men and asked them a question.

" Excuse me my friend, what was that thing about the auction? "

As he spoke he flashed a HQ spirit stone in his face.

The man saw the HQ spirit stone and smiled.

" The Blue Phoenix Auction house is the biggest auction house in Luohe city. I heard from my brother who works there that they are selling an incredibly rare Rank 4 beast core tonight. If you are interested you can enter with me and my bro Henry. "

Julian smiled and handed him the HQ Spirit stone

" That'd be great "

The man nodded and Julian walked with them to the auction house.

While they walked Julian Searched his memory for anything about beast cores.

' Ah I see '

He found the information he was looking for and realized why a rank 4 core was so valuable in Luohe city. Although every spiritual beast carries a core. Actually managing to harvest an intact core was incredibly hard. During battle the beast would exert itself and the core would be damaged. Sometimes if a beast knew it was going to die it would instinctively self destruct its own core ruining the hunters efforts. The best way to harvest an undamaged beast core required a cultivator to be a whole realm above the beast. A cultivator a realm higher could easily kill a spiritual beast a realm lower without the core being damaged. The core this time was a rank 4 core and most people in Luohe city are stuck in The Soul Wandering stage. There are very few Nascent soul cultivators and they usually keep their rank 4 beast cores for themselves or their clans. He began to think about the prices of these cores. A rank 1 or 2 core could be bought at the market for either large amounts of gold or spirit stones. A single low grade spirit stones was worth around 10 gold. Rank 3 and above however could normally only be bought with spirit stones as its the primary currency among cultivators. Spirit stones were amazing as they could be consumed to further ones cultivation at higher realms or they could be used to buy much need cultivation resources. They could also be exchanged for large amounts of gold which could be used to expand a clans influence in a city.

He checked his inventory and saw he had a couple dozen rank 3 beast cores and several hundred rank 1 and 2 cores. He didn't have any rank 4 cores as it seemed there was none around his city. This confused him as he was right next to a forbidden zone so he figured his rank 5 chaos summon could easily kill some rank 4 beast and gain him an immense amount of exp and in this case wealth.

A rank 1 core usually went for around 100 low grade spirit stones or about 1,000 gold. A rank 2 was worth about 10x as much and a rank 3 was worth more than 5,000 low grade spirit stones or around 100 HQ Spirit stones.

10 LQ equaled 1 MQ and 5 MQ equaled 1 HQ. He stared at the hill of Rank 3 stones and all he saw was money. He himself couldn't use them so they could only be sold or given to his subordinates to use.

Soon they arrived at the door to the Auction house and two menacing looking guards in green scale armor stood guard.

" Your ticket! "

The guard on the left demanded.

Brad took out a jade Phoenix emblem and the guards bowed before letting him and his group inside. Once inside they sat down and Julian told brad something.

" I'll be back in a moment i have something I wish to sell during this auction. "

" wait ill help you "

Brad motioned for Julian to follow him and they entered a back room where an old man was sitting down listening to music. On the table was the same holographic device he had seen in the Golden dragon.

" What can I do for you today? "

The man turned his face over and spoke.

" I have come here to sell 7 rank 3 beast cores. "

The old man's eyes stood up and he looked at Julian the way he would his best friend.

" Come here and lay them out. "

Julian had dozens of beast cores but only 7 types. He layed down a Steelhead hog core, a rank 3 Storm wolf core, a Blue tiger core. a Ice wyvern core, a black eagle core, a Tri-head toad core and finally a Black tortoise core.

The mans face showed doubt and he quickly moved to Julian. He shook his hands and spoke happily. We can sell these at tonight's auction no problem. As for the commission we take a 10% cut of everything sold.

" Alright "

Julian shook his hands and proceeded out the door with Brad who was also shocked at what he saw.

They once again sat down and the auction began. The first couple of items weren't very eye catching, just some low ranked spiritual equipment. The announcer brought out a cart with several pill bottles and announced what they were.

" Next up we have some incredibly rare Grade 3 foundation Building pills crafted by a rank 5 Alchemist from Starfire city. There are 4 bottles total with 10 pills in each bottle. Each bottle will be auctioned separately. The starting price is 50 HQ Spirit stones.

The audience went crazy hearing this.

" I bid 60 HQ! "

" I bid 65 HQ "

" i bid 70 HQ "

Just as the biding was getting serious an old man in his 60s with fiery red hair spoke and the entire venue became quiet.

" I bid 71 HQ "

After he bid no one else dared to bid.

Julian looked at the pills and thought about giving them to his people. He had exactly 40 soldiers and here was 40 foundation building pills.

" I bid 72 HQ "

His voice echoed Throughout the venue and the old man looked at him angrily. He slightly leaked out the aura of a stage 2 Nascent soul cultivator.

Feeling this Julian laughed out loud and released his own aura. The old man was stunned and pulled back his own aura. He stopped speaking and the Announcer counted off.

" The first batch of Pills goes to the sir in booth 45. "

The announcer brought out the second bottle and no one bid for a moment. Julian and the old man stared at each other. The man was about to speak but Julian's voice overshadowed him.

" I bid 72 HQ "

The exact same bid as last time. The old man's face froze and he became angry. The announcer announced Julian won again and began to auction the third bottle. Unlike everyone's expectations however Julian did not bid for this bottle or the last and they were bought by the old man.

Julian looked at the old man and gave him a friendly nod. He didn't want to provoke this man so he only bought 20 of the pills and allowed the old man to buy the rest so that he too got some. The main reason he did this was because he really didn't have any experience fighting and had no idea who this man was. For all he knew the man in front of him could be part of a powerful clan in the city with several Nascent soul stage cultivators. From the looks of the other participants he felt like his deduction was true.

The auction continued and Julian only paid attention to the pills he thought would be beneficial to his men. Soon he had spent over 2,000 HQ on various random pills ranging from foundation pills to gold core pills and even some soul wandering pills. His best purchase however was a Grade 3 body refinement pill bottle with 10 pills inside which cost him nearly 800 HQ. The announcer stated that an ordinary man could raise himself up a body realm with just a single pill.

After all of of this the announcer pulled out several beautiful red wood boxes lined with silver.

" Before we auction off the final item. we have some Other incredibly rare cores that were just added to the auction. In front of me are 7 Perfect condition rank 3 cores of 7 different spiritual beasts. The first core up for auction is a Steelhead hog core. This core type is excellent for any body cultivators practicing metal body techniques. The starting bid for this core is 100 HQ. "

His voice barely finished and the auction began to pop off. the price was quickly raised to 135 HQ.

Julian was surprised by this. Although he had the knowledge inside of his mind, actually processing it and accessing it at will would take some time. So when it suddenly rose past what he thought it would be he was pleasantly surprised.

He looked to the old man and saw that he too was bidding for the cores. Every time the old man raised the bid he would glance at Julian to make sure he wasn't going to try and out bid him for these cores.

The bid finally slowed down and the Old man won the bid for 178 HQ.

" The next core we have tonight is another powerful defensive core. A perfect condition Black Tortoise core. For those that don't know its value at first glance this core is incredibly hard to obtain as even cultivators a realm above the beast will have Difficulty breaking past its powerful shell. And if the Tortoise decides to hide in its shell the hunt becomes nearly impossible by ordinary means. Any cultivator that consumes this core will be able to jump at least one whole realm depending on your current stage. a normal man can go from ordinary to the bone refinement stage instantly. A bone refinement can advance to the mind scattering stage and a mind scattering can advance to the late stages of mind scattering. It can even help one break into the Sarira stage from the mind scattering stage. The starting bid is 75 HQ. At the end the bid rose to around 300 HQ and the next core was on stage. The announcer continued to show off and explain the uses of each core and the money he made continued to increase. Finally after all 7 cores had been sold and The announcer left the platform and returned with a black box with golden designs.

" For our last item tonight we have an Incredibly rare and rarely seen Rank 4 Albino Crocodile Core. The Albino Crocodile core is a must have for any Soul wandering stage 10 cultivators as it can allow one to break into the Nascent soul stage. Considering the talent of the cultivator once taken they can even boost themselves up into stage 2 or even stage 3 of the Nascent soul stage. The staring bid for this item is. 1,000 HQ.

Julian looked at the core but didn't have much interest. He himself could quite easily kill a rank 4 beast just by summoning his Own rank 5 Chaos Annihilator. Plus unlike others when he killed a beast he was guaranteed to get a perfect condition core. even if the beasts body was mangled and it self destructed he was certain it would still drop.

The old man looked around an smiled as he saw the prices continually rise. He glanced at Julian and was slightly disappointed to see that he was not bidding on the core. Julian looked at him and saw his facial expressions and came to the conclusion that the mysterious master selling the core must he the old man in front of him.

Julian watched as the prices steadily rose to over 3,000 HQ and finally stop at 3,210 HQ.

In some places the price of a core like this would never rise that high but in louhe city a single Nascent soul stage cultivator could shift the balance of power between the various clans so it was an incredibly sought after item. Thinking about this Julian was confused as to why the old man would sell such an item and allow his rivals to gain another powerful member. The thought came and went and the auction ended. A female servant in her twenties with blonde hair came in and handed him his items and asked for the HQ he owed. Although he made around 1100 Spirit stones from his cores after the fee was deducted. He spent about 2,000 HQ on pills meant he owed them about 900 HQ

Once he paid for the cores he said his goodbyes to brad and left.

Just as he was about to head to a nearby inn and rest for the night. The old man came up to him and began to talk.

" May I know which clan you are from? "

Hearing his question Julian looked over and casually replied.

" I don't have a clan "

The old man's smile grew brighter and he extended his hand out while speaking

" I'm guessing your here on business. How about instead of staying at an inn you come and stay at my clan for the night. The beds are much better than these lousy inns. Plus I have a business offer I'd like to discuss with you. So what do you say? "

Julian looked at the man for a second and nodded.

" Alright i accept your Invitation. "

The old man shook his hand and then walked to a carriage. He opened the door and the two got inside. Once inside however the mans face turned from a smile to a serious Expression. The sudden change in Expression made Julian nervous and he felt like something was wrong. The man stared at him for a moment before his face returned to normal and he spoke.

" Your the one who sold the Rank 3 cores. Right? "
