"So that was the truth?" Joel asked resignedly.
"I believe so" I sighed.
I could feel Joel's disappointment as he clenched my hand. His clench doesn't hurt me but his expression does. He exhaled as he looked at me sorrowfully, the man must have been thinking about what we did. He already tried his best not to let anyone go on a killing spree, he just wanted a peaceful life.
"Did you regret it?" I asked him.
"Letting him alive you mean?" Joel asked.
I nodded at him, he just smiled dryly as he stared at my crimson eyes. Even though he didn't reply to me immediately, a look of regret crossed his mind. The thought of someone inside the group wanting to take revenge on Howard never crossed his mind.
It just tells how much Joel believed in a peaceful approach, but sadly not all of us embody that pure thought of his.
