Chereads / The Archaic Dragon Mage / Chapter 474 - 18

Chapter 474 - 18

"I would like to thank you for healing my students Aurora," she bowed her direction just slightly, "But that isn't why I came over here."

"You're leaving?" I raised a brow at her.

"That's not my intention," she looked at me skeptically.

"So you're staying to fight with us?" I snorted in disbelief.

"That's not what I'm saying either," she frowned at me.

"Then what are you saying," Aurora laid down slowly, "I would prefer that you just tell us instead of being cryptic."

"I will be dismissing everyone that does not wish to fight," She waved off her skeptical tone, "So only those that are willing to fight will be left behind."

"How will you guarantee that they won't turn around, and attack us as soon as you dismiss them?" Aurora flicked her tail.

"I will make them swear a blood oath," She dismissed our worries with ease, "Should they go back on their word they will suffer dearly for it."

"You plan to fight with us, but you're not keeping everyone here," I summed it up to the best of my understanding.

She answered with a simple nod.

I paced in the ever shrinking space. I really needed to get out of here. I'd been in here long enough to go stir crazy. The fact that I had time to go stir crazy really bugged me. How long had it been in the real world?

Time passed far slower in here then it did in the real world. How many hours had passed since I contacted Ethan? How many days? I frowned to myself mostly. Irritated, and annoyed.

The power I'd pulled under my control was on the verge of exploding outward, and destroying all the work I'd done so far. My whole being was in pain. My core was pulsating with such power that it was making the air around me distort. The being that represented earth's consciousness watched with interest. I didn't know why she found this interesting.

She'd seen power manipulated on a much larger scale many times before. I could understand finding it interesting if she'd never seen such power before. Even now she was manipulating far more power then I would have thought possible. It was flowing into her in a small trickle, and she was amplifying it before sending it out ten times more powerful then when it came in. I could amplify mana the same way.

I understood now how earth became so mana dense. I paced as I gathered power. It had become damn near impossible for me to sit still in here even with so much of my concentration on gathering power. It was hard to breath. Even harder to focus.

I could barely keep it all together. I was beginning to think that this wasn't going to end well. When I had enough processing power to think that is. My eyes were glowing with intense power. Although I didn't know that.

My eyes were even glowing in the real world. I didn't know that either. I could feel my connection to Ethan, Savannah, and Jax as clearly as I could see the woman in front of me. I flicked my tail as my body started to take on more, and more draconic traits. I didn't notice the changes at all.

I was too focused on what I was doing. I didn't even notice the darkness closing in anymore. It was on the verge of touching me now.

The last three days hadn't gone well. After we'd sent the wounded back they'd been attacking us on a daily basis. Wave after wave. We'd lost two of the walls. We were backed into the trenches now.

To top it off we'd lost twenty people. All of them cowards. I was glad to be rid of them even though we really needed the numbers. Wyatt's eyes had began to glow a few days ago. Even through the stone.

The rainbow of light was beautiful. Although I didn't really have any time to study it right now like I wanted to. I had shit to do, and enemies to kill. I lifted half a dozen heavy logs with my telekinesis, and threw them into the enemy ranks. Aiming in the general direction of elves mixed in the ranks.

The logs would crack off their barriers. I'd been doing this for a few days now. My decision to target the elves was working. The humans were starting to steer clear of the elves. I was sure that they were still trying to figure out how I spotted the elves so easily from over five hundred feet away, but that wasn't really my problem.

I could keep on attacking, and killing them with ease. Granted most of my hits didn't result in a kill. That made the ones that did that much more satisfying. Aurora's beam of light was more then enough to put down several enemies with ease. The problem was that she could only launch that attack two or three times daily.

Most of her mana was spent on healing our allies. We had quality on our side, and the unicorn was defending us from arial attacks so we would be doing well if reinforcements hadn't shown up this morning. All of them fresh, clean, and ready to fight. While we were all worn down, and many couldn't fight for longer then an hour before they had to stop, and rest. The constant healing was even starting to get to Aurora.

Even her dragon stamina couldn't keep up with the constant onslaught. She was continuously plucking injured off the walls so that another could take their place before they died. Many of the replacements being people she just healed. Causing all of it to repeat in a constant cycle. Aaron kept finding his way to her so that he could help since he had also awakened the light element.

This angered his mother who was trying her best to keep her son out of danger. I would have found that funny if we weren't all covered in sweat, and blood that was days old. My limbs shook whenever I stopped moving. Not because I was tired. Nothing like that.

Authors note

I'm sorry I haven't published much lately. I've been struggling with severe depression, and suicidal thoughts. I moved out of my parents house into my car because they are one of my main stressors, and I didn't want them to think it was their fault if I spiraled too badly to pull out of it. I've been struggling with money since I lost my good paying job. I think I mentioned this back in December when I suddenly stopped posting. My new job doesn't pay nearly as much, and now I can't afford a home anyway because of inflation. I'm really struggling.

I've been trying to convince my grandparents to let me buy their old house where I keep my animals because they're thinking about selling it. If they sell it then I will lose one of the few things that have made me happy through the years. I know some of you are thinking that they can just go to another pasture. If there was another pasture I would have found it by now. Housing it ridiculous where I live.

$1,500 for rent when you only make $2,000. That's just rent. Plus nowhere is ok with dogs anymore, and if they are they want the dog to be less then ten pounds. So despite my determination to do everything on my own I have realized that I really need help. So I'm going to ask you my readers for help. I promise that I will never charge for any of my first draft material on here ever, but if you guys have money to spare I could really use it.

Everything you guys give me will go toward my housing situation, and nothing else. If all of you are willing to give me as little as 5$ a month then it will help me hugely. I know this is kind of lazy, and that I shouldn't be asking complete strangers for help, but my family isn't doing much better then I am when it comes to money. I would like to buy my grandparents house. That way they wouldn't have to worry about money again for the rest of their lives.

It's a five bedroom house so it would help all my siblings too, and I would get to stay near my family. You have no idea how much joy that would bring me. I know none of you know me that well, and only know me through my writing, but please help me.
