Raul hadn't tried to push me a single time since I got here. Not to the south, and he kept the trend now that we'd moved to the north. I didn't think he would change his pattern now since he knew how much I was doing while I was out. I wasn't an invincible monster. It was nice that he seemed to recognize that.
I spent my whole four hour sleep cycle working on the elemental exercise. Ignoring Regala the entire time. She didn't try to get my attention. I was glad for that. When I woke up I'd regenerated about half of my mana.
I shook the stiffness out of my limbs, and stretched. My muscles tingled in relief as I stood up slowly. My wounds had healed about halfway. I sent mana to them to heal them the rest of the way. I could ignore the sting of the cuts.
Pain was an old friend. That was a sad truth on my part. I flicked my tail casually. I needed to completely refill my mana. I contacted Savannah, and Jax.
Ethan was waiting for me to wake up, and had already found his way onto my back. I was fully rested by now. I was loving this four hour nightly sleep. I was just going to fly out to battle again, but then I noticed how tired all my bonded were. Plans changed.
I contacted Savannah, and Jax. Telling them to get some rest. I wrapped my tail around Ethan, and opened up my wing so that he could climb in. Ethan was good at pretending to be wide awake. Even when he was about to collapse.
Ethan climbed in, and settled on the leathery membrane quietly. I laid back down quietly. Allowing him to rest as close to me as possible. It was my turn to protect him. I kept my wing tense enough to keep him wrapped up in it as he slept.
I remained wide awake, and completely still as I watched the skyline. It was snowing again, but the warmth of my body stopped any of the snow from sticking to me. It was a little wet, but I didn't really care. If I wasn't fused with my water element I didn't think I would have even noticed the water beneath me. It wasn't deep enough to reach through my scales.
My scales weren't very sensitive at all. They had about as much feeling as talons did. I could definitely feel when things touched them, but it wasn't the same. It was a dull feeling. I was excited.
I wanted to head back into battle. I was ready to do just that. I was not ready to go into battle alone. Savannah, and Ethan had helped out there when they were watching my back. I would've been wounded much worse if I didn't have them with me.
I would fight as long, and hard as I could. That was just the way I was. If those wyverns didn't choose to give up on their own I would be forced to kill them all. I bared my teeth at the thought. I didn't want to kill them all.
They weren't here by choice. They didn't choose to exist. I guess that was similar to my own situation. I exhaled heavily. Lightning cackling off the tip of my tongue.
I wanted to move. I wanted to fight. Sitting here waiting for Ethan to sleep properly really wasn't my style. I caught more then a few humans giving me dirty looks because I was sitting there doing nothing. I did my best to ignore them, but my teeth had slowly extended past the gums.
My lips slowly curling back with each dirty look. I wasn't sleeping so I was expected to fight. My body was fully rested, but my mana hadn't regenerated yet. They were judging based on my appearance that I was good, and ready to fight. They just didn't know why I wasn't moving yet.
Ethan felt as if he was sleeping in a hammock. He'd fallen into a deep sleep within minutes of being tucked in my wing. It felt as if Savannah, and Jax had settled down as well. They were a good distance from here. Probably in one of the available guild tents.
I didn't like the fact that the eyes of the humans were falling on me. I locked eyes with a few different people that were giving me dirty looks. The snarl that was stuck on my face made a few of them look away quickly. Not wanting to draw my ire after seeing all the damage I had been able to do to the wyverns. I had no intention of acting on my anger because I might wake Ethan in the process.
I wrapped my tail around the base of a nearby tree while trying to keep my movements to a minimum. Tightening my grip bit by bit as my hostility grew. Until the trunk cracked under the intense pressure. My grip tightened another few notches. The trunk cracked a few more times as the tree started leaning.
The trunk was slowly loosing its ability to hold the weight of the tree as the lean became more, and more pronounced. The way it was pinching my tail made me think that my tail might be part of the reason the tree was still standing. My grip tightened a few more times before Ethan woke up. He climbed out of my wing, and landed on the ground next to me casually. Stretching as he woke himself up slowly.
I yanked my tail through what was left of the trunk. Downing the entire tree when I did. My tail whipped around the trunk of the tree before I threw it over the anti air canons to the other side of the front line. Using only my tail. I stretched slowly.
Cracking my back as I stood. It was almost time to fight. My snarl slowly disappeared behind my lips. My teeth sliding back into my gums. I would be heading back out into the fight when Savannah woke up.
