Chapter 382 - 17.2

He stepped away from me fearfully.

"He'd call it lunch," someone from the crowd shouted.

No one was stupid enough to laugh or chuckle, but there were definitely a few sly smiles mixed into the crowd.

"Get out of this guild," I snarled, "And go pick on someone else."

I backed off, and returned to my human form completely. Walking away calmly as if I hadn't done anything at all. That kind of indifference would only frighten them all more. I strode to the warehouse calmly. No longer wandering around town like I had been before.

I turned to look at the earth great before going back in the warehouse. A cocky grin was all I needed. He definitely recognized me. There was no way someone as well informed as him wouldn't know what I looked like in my human form. I returned to my true form once the doors were closed.

I had no intention of doing anything to drastic for the time being. The sooner I returned to earth the better. I stretched casually. I had a lot of work to do on earth. The only reason I was waiting here was for Jax.

Once Jax got whatever answers he sought from the man then we would be able to move on. My wings stretched slowly as I tried to keep myself calm, and settled enough to stay in the warehouse. Using multiple elements to do the exercise Regala had taught me was slower progress then using just one element, but I was making steady progress in all six elements at once this way. I'd tried using lightning for the exercise, but that had been painfully easy. Lightning in that small of an amount just did whatever I wanted it to with a single thought.

It explained why Regala had said that this wouldn't work to advance an affinity. I could do one sun made of lightning, and fifty planets easily. Each one rotating faster then the last. The fastest one was rotating fifty times for the slowest ones single rotation. It was way too easy for me.

There was no way something this easy was going to advance my elemental fusion. I needed to do more. I needed to progress. My affinities needed to reach the maximum level as quickly as possible so that I would have a chance to fuse with them. The elements I was having the most trouble with were time, gravity, and space.

Space required a large amount of mana to use. It didn't really matter how short or long the distance was I was teleporting. Time didn't cost a lot of mana to use, but it's effect gave me double vision. The echo of where someone was going to go followed by what they actually did. If what they were going to do wasn't certain then there would be multiple echoes of where they were going.

That gave me a headache from hell. Gravity was easier then the other two, and I'd been subconsciously using it whenever I transformed. I didn't know how to control it at all though. It was one of those things that I just did on instinct. I didn't know how to do it consciously.

My wings twitched. I needed to push my affinities to become stronger as quickly as possible. Stronger affinities made for a better chance to fuse with my elements. Fusion reduced the mana cost of all my spells. Once I was fused with my elements I'd be able to do a lot more with them.

Regala had suggested that using those three elements would be the best way to advance them. I decided on doing something kind of stupid. I would use time element constantly as long as I was awake. If I didn't push it too hard I'd be able to look a second into the future for a long period of time without killing my head. I started doing it right away.

I had a sneaking suspicion that Regala had done something similar to this when she had advanced time element herself. Back then she probably didn't have to work on the element so hard. She had other elements she could rely on. I didn't have that luxury. I needed any, and all help that I could get.

I was going to be the main protector of an entire planet soon, and I would need to be strong enough to hold that way for a long time. I didn't know how long I would need to hold, but that didn't matter. Not right now. I wasn't even close the the base level of strength I needed yet. Doing the exercise Regala taught me while using the time element gave me a headache you wouldn't believe.

I wouldn't stop just yet. I would keep it up until I couldn't anymore. I would choose passing out over stopping now. My wings twitched as I kept on working at it. I started ignoring the pain after a while.

I'd partially closed off my connection to Savannah, and Jax. I didn't want to give them headaches too, but I couldn't close the connection off to them completely. Not while Ethan was using it to track Jax. I spent the rest of the day working on it. By the time I fell asleep I was too exhausted to do much of anything.

I didn't go to my inner world. I slept deeply for all of four hours. I woke up tired. It wasn't quite morning yet, but I didn't really care. I quickly realized that I couldn't do this every day.

I'd have to go every other day. My wings twitched as I thought about what I would do on my off day now that I'd decided it was an off day. I needed XP. Why not go hunting? I smirked.

I shook out the kinks in my neck, and went outside. Flaring my large wings as I decided to take off from within the guild. It wouldn't take me too long to find a hunting ground that was free of lizardmen. I flew out over the lake we'd created, and looked at all the origin creatures that were there. The lake was slowly filling with fish.
