April shook her head. "I heard it once, but I can't remember." Another thought popped into his mind. If he could find and talk to her company that did this, they might be willing to apologize to her. It was a long try and he wasn't sure if it would change anything, but he felt like giving it a chance. April shook her head. "It wasn't just her father. It was the whole community. Countless self-employed people were eliminated in the process. She feels unfair to everyone involved."
Aquila twisted April out and pulled her back in again. Maybe you can donate funds to the company to help small businesses. It will surely help Atiya to heal the wounds he feels deeply. "Anything else?" he asked. Jun nodded. "Take her girlfriend to a romantic place. Have them dress up and look feminine for the night. A poor girl works every day to live up to her father's expectations. She deserves to be spoiled. April stopped dancing and she stared at him with her sharp blue eyes. "You two are perfect for each other. Help her figure it out."
Aquila could only nod. Except for the fact that it was a little uncomfortable to hear April say such things. He was even more shocked that it was so little. Why didn't alarm bells go off in his head at the prospect that Atiya might be the type of person he wants to spend a lot of time with?
Oh. He has to grow up A few years ago, he was horrified by the idea of settling down with a woman. Now it seemed like the only thing he wanted, but it still felt like the only thing he couldn't have. Family and home that did not manipulate him. A place where he felt needed and valued. When he recognized Atiya 's reddish hair and pale skin, and heard her melodic laughter, he realized that maybe trying things April 's way wouldn't be a bad idea. Especially if Atiya follows April 's instructions, which means Atiya could get closer to him. "I have another idea," he says, taking April to the dance floor and telling her all about her plans to expand The Sweet Room as a surprise for Atiya . Aquila spent the rest of the night dancing with April and her friendly friends. It was great, but it didn't dampen his desire to lure Atiya back and take him with him. Instead, in conversations about knitting, grandchildren and cats, he came up with a plan he dubbed "Operation Page." It was to find out which company was responsible for her father being fired and her kitchen being refurbished. After spending a week in Baton Rouge and talking to different companies he wanted to invest in, he had plenty of time to think about it and felt the idea was complete. As he walked through the office, he reached out and pressed the intercom button. After a few seconds Debbie answered. "Yes, Mr. Scott ," she gasped as if running to answer. He stopped "Did you run away, Debbie?"
There was some scratching noise. It sounded like she was trying to cover up the conversation she was having. "Is there anyone with you?" He walked to the office door and peered out. A girl with sticky hair stood next to Debbie. There was an angry expression on her face. "I'm sorry, Miss Scott . Her daughter is here today," he said, watching her lean over the microphone. "You know, humans have a problem," she whispered. He chuckled. "It's okay, Debbie. Why don't you two come in?"
She looked up, as if suddenly realizing that he could see her. Aquila waved his hand in to welcome them. She parted her lips as if wondering if it was a good idea. Then she shook her head and held up one of her fingers. He nodded and went back to his desk. He had written all his plans on a note card he left there. It included Atiya 's name, her father's name, and where she was raised. I hope Debbie's detective skills are strong enough to help her track down the culprits that put Atiya 's father out of business. The door opened and Debbie appeared. She couldn't hide her frustrated look. She sighed inside and sat down in a nearby chair. "very sorry. Zoe suddenly appeared. Apparently her boyfriend kicked her out and won't let her take any of her belongings. All day she was on the phone with the police," she sat down and gasped. "Listen as I keep talking. I'm sure that's not why you called me here."
Aquila nodded, but he cared about Debbie. If she has a problem, he will do everything he can to ease her annoyance. "Is there anything I can do to help?" Debbie looked around. "Thank you. Well, I wish I could just do my job. What can I do for you? "
Aquila sat down in his chair. He told Debbie about the big business that put Atiya 's father out of business. He told her he needed her to find her company to talk to her CEO. Then he leaned forward and clasped his fingers as he rested his elbows on his desk. "Listen carefully to this next part. We need to hire a contractor for Atiya 's bakery." "That doesn't mean you have to go out of your way to buy a device for them," he squinted. She looked up at him and her cheeks flushed. "Was it too big? It was too big." He clicked his tongue. "I thought she was perfect," she laughs. "I'm sure she didn't think it was coming."
Aquila nodded. "She didn't realize it was coming, couldn't look around her, couldn't walk past it. Things were monstrous. It took up half of her kitchen space. ' Debbie clicked her pen over the paper. She said, "Do I have to call the company to return it?"
Aquila waved at her. "It's already taken care of. She did it when she was in Baton Rouge."
Debbie scribbled a few words on her pad. "Anyone in particular?" she asked. "Find someone nice." He smiled at her. "I trust you."
She finished writing and looked up. "I'll get right to it," she said, getting up and heading for the door. Before Aquila could say anything, his phone rang. He picked it up from his desk and looked at it. His heart skipped a beat when he saw Atiya 's name. Desperately not wanting to be seen, he waited for two more rings before responding. Debbie waved at him as she walked out of the room. Grateful for the privacy, he raised the phone to his ear and took a breath. "Hello?"
