A T I Y A
Atiya sat next to Aquila on the mat. She had to admit that everything about her was just incredible. Charlie Brown's Halloween tumbled out of the projector and onto the blank sheet of paper Iris had pinned to the wall. They came back and made Leafman. Atiya was surprised at Aquila ' attentiveness. He sat next to Summer the whole time. He looked like a giant sitting in a small children's chair. He helped her stick her paper to paper and even calmed her down when she had a nervous breakdown by sticking her paper to her back and front. When Atiya sat next to him, she enjoyed the feeling that his body was so close to hers. One thing is certain, he was kind. She didn't expect it when she offered this charity for him. Nor did she expect a man with young children to be the same as a sexy billionaire. She allowed herself to look at him. He stretched one of his arms behind him and wrapped Summer around him with the other. Summer crawled into her lap and slept on her chest. He concentrated on movies. His jaw was tight. She couldn't help but stare at his perfect lips. As if sensing her gaze, he turned to her and her half-smile returned. "What?" he asked. But the tone of his voice hinted at what he knew. A heat rose on Atiya 's cheeks. "Nothing," she said, returning her attention to her movie. Out of the corner of her eye I could see her hand reaching up and poking at her ribs. She screamed and pushed his hand away. "Hey," she said. He smiled at her. "Would you mind telling me what you think?"
She pursed her lips as she thought so. Then she came up with an idea. "Remember April ? How did it work? Can I ask a question instead of asking a question? "
Aquila stared at her. "yes."
"Well, I'm her niece." Atiya raised her eyebrows. If he was allowed to ask her her personal question, she was allowed to ask it too. Conflicting feelings welled up inside her. Did she want to know the answers to the questions that were bubbling up inside her? And did she want to tell him her secret? This game can quickly become personal and awkward. "Okay," he said. Atiya glanced at him. "Okay, what?"
"Okay, if you answer my question, I'll answer yours too." He leaned forward to challenge her. "If I answer one of your questions, will you answer all my questions?"
He nodded as he leaned against his arm. "everything."
Her stomach felt like stone. She personally invested too much. She had to withdraw. Now. If she wants to protect herself and her heart, she can't ask the questions she wants to know, much less answer the questions he wants to know. "Well, that's a shame, because there's nothing I really want to know about you," she said, returning her attention to Lucy and Charlie dancing across the screen. She glanced at him when Aquila was silent. His jaw tightened as she stared at her. She felt guilty. He was joking, maybe flirting, but now that wasn't what she wanted. She couldn't control her feelings that she wanted to control. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "Now ask me a question."
Aquila shook his head. "No, I don't want to make you uncomfortable."
She reached out and pulled her ponytail tighter. Actually, it made her uncomfortable. But seeing him disappointed made her feel just as bad. A strange and complicated feeling ran through her. Summer moved her body and cried. Aquila pulled her to him. Atiya 's heart was touched to see how caring he was for her. "I'm fine," he whispered to Summer. She stepped away, looked up at him, and turned her attention to her room. "Have I fallen asleep?" she asked. Aquila nodded as he got off his knees. "It certainly was," he said. Summer stood and jumped from one of her legs to the other. "I have to go to the bathroom," she said. A look of panic crossed Aquila ' face. He looked at Atiya . pathetic guy. She stood up and took Summer's hand. "Take her girlfriend."
"Thank you," she said with a look of relief. Atiya followed the dancing buzzer into the bathroom. They go inside and Summer directs it to a stall. "Can I help you with something?" Atiya called after her. "No," she said. Atiya went to the mirror and stared at it. The wind from outside blew her hair all over the place. She pulled her hair out of her ponytail and down her back. She ran her finger over it several times. Her phone rang. She took it out of her back pocket and put it in her. April sent her a text message. She panicked. Until April , she was out of the shop for a day, but this woman was a little distracted. Emails from her were never good. How is it going? April asked. Atiya shook his head. We didn't have time to chat. When her store burned down, she wanted to know. Are you OK. There? She waited for the phone to ring again. You worry too much How about Aquila ?
Of course. Curious April . Was she trying to tell you how close she got to Aquila ? she shook her head. Only if she wants her entire neighborhood to know about it. It's almost over. I will be back in an hour
The toilet was flushed and Summer left the hut. She went to the sink and climbed the stairs in front of it. "Are you okay?" Atiya asked. Summer chuckled and she laughed. "yes."
