"We're making money," Lemuel said, reaching out and tapping Aquila on the shoulder. "Does that not make you happy?" You have been very depressed lately.
At the mention of happiness, Aquila ' stomach twisted. His sister's dark hair and dark skin had returned to him. The atmosphere in the limo softened as regret passed over Lemuel 's face.
"Ah, man. I'm sorry. I don't…"
"No. Aquila raised his hand. "Not even. I know you didn't.
Lemuel watched her for a moment and then nodded. "Well, good news for Jucson . We still want to grow up."
Aquila nodded. "In the office please."
"You get it, sir," she said, closing the door.
"Aren't dragons with us?" Lemuel asked, waving at Raquel 's limo, just a dot in the distance.
Aquila shook his head. "No."
Lemuel never concealed his disdain for Adèle. He hates the way she treats Aquila , and he doesn't hesitate to talk about it. He just didn't understand how vulnerable she was right now and Aquila felt a duty to protect her. She has no malice, just grief.
"And the Dragon?" Aquila shot him a sharp look.
Lemuel leaned back in his chair and shrugged. "What? She is more deserving of this title."
Not wanting to argue anymore, Aquila just rested his elbows on the arm of the chair next to him. Georgia came out of the barn, and soon they were on their way to her office. It's easy to judge her. Lemuel never saw the broken side of Raquel . Aquila remains hopeful that things will improve. But with each passing day, the doubt grew larger.
Lemuel had pulled out his phone and was checking the stats. Deciding to break the silence and get rid of thoughts of his mother, Aquila leaned over. "Did I miss something while I was gone?"
Lemuel chuckled. "Well, not much has happened since the murder party you threw." Lemuel raised his finger. "Scratch that – your mother threw."
"Hey," Aquila said.
Lemuel shrugged. "I'm just saying, man. If you had a girlfriend, she might have done it for you. Your mom threw this big shaver away instead."
Aquila chuckled as see the dry leaves still clinging to the tree, it seems very strange. It was as if the seasons were starting to change faster than he could keep up. Too many things passed near him. He was very sad when Rose 's death woke him up. Realize that life is not just about money.
"What day is it today?" he asked, glancing at Lemuel 's phone.
"Uh… October 30.
"Halloween is here."
Lemuel nodded. Brian kept reminding me of that. He wants to be the Hulk this year. That, after last week's parent/teacher meeting, suits him quite well. He bent down and scrolled through some of the pictures on his phone.
"That's great," Aquila said with a smile. Lemuel has been married for ten years and had a baby boy six years ago. He looked at his best friend.
Why can't he find that girl to settle down with? Oh, that's right. Because Raquel seems to go after every girl he's ever been interested in. It doesn't help that he has a job that requires him to work day in and day out. Then Atiya 's smile crossed her mind and a desire burned in her stomach. A woman occupying so much of his mind makes him curious. Without a doubt, he wanted to talk to her again.
"Hey, did you ever hear the name of the caterer at my party? Detty something."
Lemuel looked at him. "You have a crush on that caterer, don't you?
Aquila tried to stay calm even though his cheeks were burning hot at the accusation. "No. I just want Izza to cook me some of these little mushrooms." "Foodhype," he repeated.
Lemuel nodded, opened the door, and stepped down onto the sidewalk. Aquila followed him. They climbed the steps to the forty-story mall and into the lobby.
"Now if you get this recipe, don't hold me back," Lemuel said as he pressed the button next to the elevator.
Aquila nodded and stuffed the note into his pocket. "You get it," he said. The door opened and they entered.
When the door closed, Aquila took a deep breath. He will give his assistant the name, Lennie , and ask her to find the bakery where Atiya works.
A worry appeared in his mind. What would Atiya tell him if he showed up there? She had told him what she thought of rich men. What will Raquel think when he meets her? He gulped, tugged at his collar, and shook his head. It's funny to be worried. He's always negotiating deals, he can definitely talk to Atiya and keep Raquel away.
The door opens, revealing his business premises. Everyone stopped working to greet him. As he entered the office, he waved to Lennie . She's a chubby woman – according to their last conversation – in her fifties, flirty and ready for a man. She nodded at him, sending her short blonde hair bouncing just above her shoulders.
He motioned for her to follow him. She smiled and hung up the phone.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Scott . She is my daughter. She is. . ." Lennie stopped as she followed him. "Well, poor girl has trouble with men. Leave it there.
Aquila stopped rummaging through the mail on the desk and looked up at her. "Men problem?"
Lennie is furious. "You don't want to know." She smiled as she sat down in one of the armchairs in front of her desk. "How's Dallas?"
Aquila reached into his pocket. "Success," he said, taking out the piece of paper. "Actually, I need a favor, but on a different subject."
Lennie 's eyebrows rose as she accepted the paper from his hand. "Interesting," she said, opening it. "GoFooda Catering?"
"I need you to call the owner, Detty , and get some information about a friend of hers." Aquila leaned in as if everyone in his office was eager to hear what he was about to say. "Atiya .
"Atiya ," she said, pulling the pen behind her ear and writing it down.
Aquila nodded. "Yes."
After she finished speaking, she raised her head to look at him. "Nothing else?"
He shook his head. "Just like that."
