Chapter 18 - The Sacred Meadow of the Forest

Apparently the Lost Forest was over, because Link appeared in a kind of garden with many hedges that turned it into a labyrinth, and not like the one in which Link took the Kokiri Sword, but now it did look like a labyrinth.

He started to walk, but as he was about to enter the maze, he saw that there were bars at the entrance, and then there was a howl. Link turned around and a wolf, named Wolfos, appeared and began to attack Link.

Thanks to his quick skills, he managed to eliminate it and the bars at the entrance to the labyrinth were removed. Then he went in and started walking. Although he was somewhat confused, it was one of those labyrinths that, if it was not on one side, it was on the other and did not have so much loss. Among the corridors he found bushes like the ones inside the Great Deku Tree, but this time they were red and when Link used his shield to defeat them, they ran and didn't say anything like those of the Great Deku Tree.

When he reached them, he gave them a blow and they disappeared, just like that. He found about four and defeated all of them. When he reached the end, in the last hedge there was a ladder to climb these and see the labyrinth from above, however he did not go up because it did not attract much attention.

In front of the ladder were other normal ones that originally had two pillars, as if they were reaching an important enclosure. Link climbed them and came to a corridor between two other taller hedges and with other bushes. When he defeated them, he noticed that behind them were more stairs. He climbed them and came to a wide clearing. In the center was a large pedestal with the Triforce marked on it and also a different green symbol on top. From the middle to the bottom it was bordered by the walls of what appeared to be a temple, and the stairs to reach it, which apparently began at the pedestal, were destroyed; there was also a tree to the left of what was left of the stairs, and to the right was a stump with a person playing an ocarina ... It was Saria.

Link ran up to him. She stopped playing and said:

"I was waiting for you, Link." You are in the Sacred Meadow of the Forest. It's my secret place! I have a feeling ... this place will be very important to both of us one day. If you play the ocarina with me, I will teach you to communicate with the spirits of the forest. Would you like it? —Link thought of Darunia and imagined that the melody would enchant him, so he nodded —Okay, try to follow me —and Saria played some notes and Link followed her playing his ocarina. As in the past melodies, he felt that he already knew it and played what was missing. Saria was surprised and said -¡ Great! Can you promise me that you'll never forget this melody? Play Saria's Song when you want to talk to me ... That's it.

Link smiled at Saria and left, because now he would have a way to communicate with her, no matter where he was.
