They both gave him bread and he happily took and ate while they watched. When he was done, Valerie took off his bandage and was shock to find no scar, not even one.
"How did this happen?" She asked confused, but he just looked away, because he didn't want her finding out his secret. When she turned to him, he looked the other way pretending to be confused as well. But, Valerie sighed and pushed it back to her head. She made a metal note to find about it some other time. He seem uncomfortable with the matter, she could tell.
Emil went down to the river to watch himself, while the maiden took off, standing a bit far from him with their backs facing him, giving him his privacy. He couldn't help but chuckle at their innocence.
He quickly washed off the smell and mud from his body, while being completely naked.....what a sight!.
When he was sure he was clean enough, he stepped out of the water and put on his pants and white shirt, he was still dripping wet from his head, he didn't care as he made his towards the girls.
"Am done..." He said as he stood behind him.
The maidens turned to find him fully dressed without his armor and boots. His hair wet, loose and messy, scattered all over his face, that earn a little laugh from Valerie.
"Come here, Emil" she said to him as she held his upper arm and sat him down on wood. She took out a little comb she always carried along with her from the basket. She started brushing his really long black hair, and tied it up in a neat ponytail. He stood up and thanked her, which made her blush.
"We are going back to the tree house" Brina announced as she picked up the basket and walked away back to the woods a little bit annoyed with their firting, but Valerie and Emil paid no mind as they followed her from behind.
*~*
It was a few minutes walk as they finally got to the tree.
The house was built on a huge tree. Whoever did it, the person had put a lot of effort. Emil stared at the house, it was nicely built on a tree with two windows facing the door and there was a ladder leading up to the house that he would be staying till further notice.
Brina was the first to climb up, then followed by Valerie and Emil and they all entered the house, which had a little round table with three chairs around it in the middle of the room, on the conor was a bed, a cupboard of portions and a little fire place to keep the place warm.
Emil watched as Brina dropped the basket and ran to the bed and laid down, while Valerie took a seat and he followed suit.
"This is where you will be staying till you are fit enough to leave, when you regain your memories" Valerie said to him snd he slowly nodded his head. She smiled at him.
"Where am I?" He finally asked the questions he had been dieing to ask for a very long time.
"Forest of Sansora. We live in a small village close to the main kingdom" she answered and he nodded his head again.
"What are you maidens doing here in the forest?" he asked another.
" Our grandma sent us here to find a cure for some strange sickness that has been going around the village like a plague" Valerie said again. He nodded his head.
He was home, he had nothing to worry about, but that mean, he had to leave. He felt like staying and getting to know the fair maiden better....
"What do you remember?" Brina inquired from the bed where she was lying comfortable.
He shook his head. "Nothing, everything is a blur" he relied.
Valerie turned to Brina " You shouldn't push him, he is a patient that was seriously injured" she said.
" What are you? " He asked out of the blue, she seem knowledgeable and seem to know what she was doing.
She turned back to him. " Am a healer" she answered him proudly.
Emil nodded again understanding. But now, all he had to do was relax and see what the present and future held for him here.
*~*
The smell of portions was what woke him up. He looked up from here he was lying on a mat beside the bed. He saw Valerie awake and was standing beside the table with a pot of portion in front of her. He couldn't help but glanced out the window and saw that, it was midnight. He slowly sat up right and saw the moon light shining into the room so brightly. He couldn't help but wonder, what she was doing awake and alone while they were sleeping.
He stared at her from behind as her shoulders move, he noticed that she had loose her hair and it was poured neatly on her back, almost touching her waist.
Slowly, he went beside her, Valerie looked up at him with a wide smile. He couldn't help but, stare at her beauty, it was even shining so brightly on the moon light.
"You are awake" she said to him.
"You woke me up" he told her and she apologized. " What are you doing, it's late? " He asked observing what she was doing....like he had any on what she was doing.
It was obvious she was making a portion, judging from all the medical herbs on the table.
"As a healer, the only thing we do is make portions, that will help the sick and that's exactly what I am doing" she answered giving him another smile.
" And her? " He pointed behind him at Brina, who was snoring and quiet loudly too. "Is she also a healer?" He asked more.
Valerie nodded her head. "Yes, she is. But, Brina does not want to be a healer. She is more on the fighting side" she replied and he nodded.
He had noticed that, Brina was not the soft type, she looked a bit bitter and rough while, Valerie was the complete opposite... He noticed.
"That smell bad" he whined with a frown as a very disturbing smell graced his nose.
She gave a light giggle. "All portion smell bad, Emil. But, I guess, you are not used to it since you are a Knight"
A Knight...
How did she know that.? He didn't waver. "A Knight?" He asked her trying his best to look confused. His eye brow coming together.
She nodded her head a bit confused. His heart beat was strange, she could hear it beating in his chest. But, she won't tell him that. She also had her dirty secret. "Yes. Your wounds were dip and they were battle wounds and plus, you were wearing a armor. You have to be a knight" she told him with her eyes sparkling brightly.
He sighed sadly. "I wish I remembered" he told her with his head down.
"Don't worry, you will gain your memories very soon" she assured him with a smile.
No word was exchange after that. Emil sat and watched her work while trying to help her the best way he could.
Soon, the morning sun light up on the sky signaling that it was dawn. Emil watched as Valerie tired up her hair and picked up the basket that was now empty, she started heading for the door.
"Where are you going?" He asked rising up from his seat.
"To pick a few herbs, they are better in the morning"
" Are you not going to wake Brina up?" He asked. Why was she doing everything alone?.
" Brina still has a few hours of sleep" she told him.
"Very well, I am going with you then" he told her, he wasn't giving her a choice to say no but, luckily she didn't.
